Dragon Blood Saint Emperor

Chapter 484: Golden Emperor Dao Wood

Nothing!

Ye Wushuang paused, turning to the Dragon Cat.

"The item isn’t among them," the Dragon Cat explained, glancing at the stall owner.

Just then, the stall owner looked up. Seeing Ye Wushuang had stopped, a smile immediately spread across his face.

’A customer!’

The stall owner stood up.

Ye Wushuang turned his gaze toward him. The owner was a middle-aged man of about forty, at the Spiritual Spring Fifth Layer. His sharp eyes gleamed with a shrewd light.

"Young Master, has anything caught your eye?"

The stall owner spoke first, his tone cautious and probing as he tried to gauge Ye Wushuang’s intentions.

Hearing this, Ye Wushuang turned and walked toward the stall.

Lan Xinyu and the Xiaoo Yue Celestial Roc were bewildered, but they said nothing and followed behind Ye Wushuang.

Seeing that Ye Wushuang seemed intent on buying, a flicker of joy flashed in the stall owner’s eyes.

"Young Master, take a closer look. Every single one of these items was recovered from an ancient ruin. They’re absolutely genuine."

The stall owner began his pitch, heavily emphasizing the phrase "ancient ruin" to stress their origin!

Ye Wushuang listened quietly as he squatted down and began picking through the broken weapons.

Seeing this, the stall owner’s eyes flickered, and he hastily explained, "These are treasures that were sealed away in ancient ruins. They have endured endless ages without decaying. They are very likely fragments of the legendary Holy Dao Soldiers. If activated, their killing power would be terrifying. They are extremely precious."

"Is that so?" Ye Wushuang looked up at the stall owner, who was spinning his tale without batting an eye, and asked, "If they are fragments of Holy Dao Soldiers, why don’t you keep them for yourself?"

"Well, Young Master, as the saying goes, treasures belong to those destined to have them. I am not fated to own these items and cannot activate them, so they are useless to me. But you, Young Master, are different."

The stall owner was not stumped. He explained calmly, "Peerless treasures often possess intelligence and will choose a master with great fortune. I can see that your Destiny soars to the heavens, Young Master. You must be a person of heaven-defying Destiny. If you buy them, you might just have the chance to activate these peerless treasures."

’Damn it, this guy is way too good at bullshitting!’

The Dragon Cat, seeing this, couldn’t take it anymore. It reminded Ye Wushuang, "Kid, the treasures are in two places. One is hanging on this guy’s chest, and the other is holding down the top-right corner of the stall mat."

Hearing this, Ye Wushuang glanced over nonchalantly.

On the stall owner’s chest hung a pendant: a finger-length piece of short, golden wood that looked like a gold bar of the same size.

And in the top-right corner of the stall mat was a fist-sized black stone, used as a weight for the mat!

No wonder the Dragon Cat said there was nothing among the wares. The real treasures were so inconspicuous!

Ye Wushuang didn’t let on. He rummaged through the stall, picked up a few pieces of scrap iron, and asked coolly, "How many Spirit Stones?"

"Treasures belong to the destined. Since you are the destined one, Young Master, I am willing to help them find their new owner and not let them be forgotten here. Therefore, I won’t ask for too much from you, Young Master. Only five hundred Low-Grade Spirit Stones."

The stall owner rattled on glibly, calling him "the destined one" at every turn.

"Five hundred Spirit Stones?"

Ye Wushuang narrowed his eyes and put the metal fragments down. These weren’t Holy Weapon Fragments at all; they were just scrap metal. They weren’t worth five hundred Low-Grade Spirit Stones, or even five.

Keenly sensing Ye Wushuang’s movement, the stall owner quickly forced a smile. "Young Master, if you truly like them, I suppose I can bear the pain of parting with them... I can reduce the price by one hundred Spirit Stones."

"Young Master!" Lan Xinyu cried out, afraid that Ye Wushuang was being duped. After all, those so-called Holy Weapon Fragments were clearly a scam.

Ye Wushuang turned and smiled, signaling Lan Xinyu to stay quiet with his eyes. He then stood up, turned back to the stall owner, and said, "I’ll give you one hundred Spirit Stones for everything here, including the pendant on your chest."

"One hundred Spirit Stones... Isn’t that a little low?" Hearing this, the stall owner put on a troubled expression.

"Don’t think I don’t know that most of this is probably junk. For a hundred, I’m just buying a chance on my luck. If I get nothing, that’s just my bad fortune."

Ye Wushuang said calmly, cutting right through the stall owner’s bluff.

"This..."

The stall owner was speechless, a conflicted look on his face. He glanced at the pendant on his chest and said, "This is a family heirloom. If I include it, one hundred is far too little, Young Master."

"One hundred Spirit Stones. Not a single one more."

Seeing the stall owner waver, Ye Wushuang smiled inwardly, but his tone remained firm. If he softened his stance now, he knew a shrewd man like this owner would surely sense that something was amiss.

Hearing Ye Wushuang’s unyielding tone, the stall owner also feigned hesitation and struggle.

But just then, Ye Wushuang turned to leave without a backward glance.

On his shoulder, the Dragon Cat watched Ye Wushuang’s move, its expression stunned. It suddenly realized that Ye Wushuang’s skill at scamming and swindling people was on another level.

’No wonder I’ve been getting fleeced by him all these years!’

"Young Master, wait!" Seeing Ye Wushuang about to walk away, the stall owner grew anxious. He had finally found someone on the hook; how could he let him get away?

All of this stuff was just junk he’d picked up randomly.

As for the gold bar on his chest, it was hardly a family heirloom. He’d picked that up, too. He only wore it because it seemed a bit strange.

At those words, Ye Wushuang turned and looked at the stall owner.

The stall owner hastily took the gold bar from his chest and handed it to Ye Wushuang.

Ye Wushuang reached out and took it.

"Wait a moment!"

But an untimely voice suddenly rang out. A youth dressed in a luxurious brocade robe strode over from the side, stopping in front of Ye Wushuang, his eyes fixed on the gold bar in his hands.

"I want this thing!"

Clearly, the brocade-robed youth had also taken a fancy to the gold bar.

Ye Wushuang looked at the youth and said coolly, "There’s a principle of first come, first served."

"There is ’first come, first served,’ but there’s also ’highest bidder wins.’ Whatever you offered, I’ll offer ten times that. This thing is mine."

The brocade-robed youth said with disdain.

"Is ten times the price supposed to be impressive?"

Ye Wushuang’s gaze turned cold. Without another word, he raised his hand and slapped the youth across the face.

"Scram!"

With that single word, the sound of a slap echoed. The brocade-robed youth was sent flying, crashing into the crowd and passing out cold.

’So domineering!’

The stall owner’s eyes froze. He never expected Ye Wushuang to resort to a slap without wasting any words!

"Xinyu, pack everything up."

Ye Wushuang tossed the stall owner one hundred Spirit Stones and spoke to Lan Xinyu. Why should he be polite to someone looking for trouble?

Lan Xinyu then collected everything from the stall mat, including the black stone.

The three people and one cat continued on their way to the Ten Thousand Treasures Celestial Workshop.

Behind them, Dongfang Youbai gave chase.

"Damn cat, what is this thing?"

Ye Wushuang asked the Dragon Cat. The gold bar looked like a twig, yet it felt like metal and had no trace of life.

"This is a small branch from a Heaven and Earth Treasure Tree, the Golden Emperor Dao Wood. It contains the Origin of the Golden Emperor Dao Wood," the Dragon Cat explained.

"The Golden Emperor Dao Wood!"

Ye Wushuang’s eyes narrowed as he suddenly recalled something.
