Chapter 1600: Death Countdown!
Chen Longxiang was indeed meticulous. Even if he didn’t agree with Jiang Feng and the team leader’s risky decision to go, once they both decided to proceed headstrong, he could only focus on logistics.
"Got it." Jiang Feng smiled, took the satellite phone, and boarded the plane.
The woman followed him up, and Quanyang Chun was at the back, increasingly feeling like a third wheel, tagging along with a man and woman onto the same plane. It was awkward!
Yet, he was also tempted by the woman’s beauty, an exquisite rarity. If these two were brought to the Netherworld Hall and debts were settled, maybe the Great Elder, in his pleasure, might reward him with this woman to enjoy.
But now he could only bury these sinful thoughts, not daring to reveal them.
Who would allow him to be at the mercy of Jiang Feng and that woman, to be killed or toyed with at their whim? He couldn’t afford to provoke either of them!
After boarding the plane, the woman sat directly in the pilot seat, skillfully checking the engine, verifying the fuel level, and preparing to take off.
In the Dragon Group, piloting any current vehicle was a basic course, a piece of cake for her as a team leader.
"Hey."
Suddenly, Jiang Feng appeared behind her, resting his hand on the back of the seat, smiling as he asked, "We’ve met twice now, yet I still don’t know your name. Care to share it?"
"Is a name that important?" the woman sneered.
"Alright then, I’ll just call you Xiao Hua since you’re pretty and seem to like being bullied." Jiang Feng said casually, waving his hand as he sat in the back.
"You’re the Xiao Hua!" the woman retorted angrily, "My name is Mu Qiuyi, remember that!"
"Can your name be any more of a tongue twister?" Jiang Feng waved his hand, "I’ll just call you Xiao Hua. Drive steadily, I’m going to take a nap."
Mu Qiuyi almost slammed her head on the dashboard, utterly irritated by this jerk’s words!
She patted her rising chest, signaling herself to stay calm; otherwise, Jiang Feng might just anger her to death!
After greeting Chen Longxiang below, Mu Qiuyi piloted the plane to take off, heading north to the northern desert.
Jiang Feng was quite at ease, indeed resting in the back seat comfortably.
Through the rearview mirror, Mu Qiuyi glanced at him, her teeth grinding in frustration but with nothing she could do.
Sitting at the very back, Quanyang Chun watched Jiang Feng’s calm demeanor, his teeth grinding in anger, wishing he could strangle Jiang Feng!
But now, even if he wanted, he lacked the strength... without hands, what could he do to strangle him?
In the future, he’d even have trouble scratching his own itch!
Jiang Feng had a peaceful sleep, undisturbed by anyone.
When he opened his eyes, he found the plane had reached a high altitude, and the temperature had noticeably dropped, indicating they had crossed the northern border.
"Where are we?"
He turned his head to look below, finding that it was the great desert, with endless yellow sand whipped by the wind, looking like sand-shaped tornadoes.
"We’ve crossed the border; the Netherworld Hall should be on this desert, but I don’t know the exact coordinates; you’ll have to ask the guy in the back," Mu Qiuyi scoffed.
Jiang Feng got up and kicked Quanyang Chun: "I’m talking to you, why are you playing dead?"
Quanyang Chun opened his eyes, glanced down, and said through gritted teeth, "Go northeast for another ten minutes or so, and we’ll be there."
"Can’t you give specific coordinates?" Jiang Feng said unhappily.
"There are no specific coordinates!" Quanyang Chun sneered, "It’s no secret that the Netherworld Hall can move underground at will. That’s why it’s been hard to find and discover!"
"Move?" Jiang Feng was taken aback, genuinely surprised.
A vast underground base that could actually move?!
Even Mu Qiuyi, piloting the plane, found it incredible, asking coldly, "What nonsense are you spouting? How come I didn’t know the Netherworld Hall could change locations?"
"Of course, outsiders wouldn’t know; it’s a secret only insiders are privy to!" Quanyang Chon’s tone was tinged with pride.
And who could blame him for feeling smug now, seeing as they’d left China’s border and entered the northern desert!
This area was under the control and influence of the Netherworld Hall, meaning his rescue was near, while Jiang Feng and Mu Qiuyi, the "damned couple," were on the countdown to their demise!
"Stop beating around the bush and playing tough, spill everything you know, or I’ll throw you off the plane right now!" Jiang Feng said coolly to Quanyang Chun.
"Hmph! I know so much it would take three days and nights to say it all! But if you think I was lying earlier, you’re gravely mistaken—do you want to know why the Netherworld Hall can move at any time? That involves our Hall Master."
Quanyang Chun grinned sinisterly: "The Hall Master has a unique ability, which is why he’s valued by the Eighteen Hells. His mind can communicate with sand worms and control them!"
"Sand worms?!"
Hearing this, both Jiang Feng and Mu Qiuyi were astonished.
"Exactly! You’ve probably never seen them, have you? They’re the legendary giant sand worms, also called Death Worms! Many think they’re just mythical creatures but didn’t realize they truly exist!"
Quanyang Chun sneered, "Death Worms inhabit this whole desert, but only our Hall Master can find and control them. He places countless sand worms at the very bottom of the Netherworld Hall, and by directing them, he can move the hall underground undetected!"
"Nonsense!" Mu Qiuyi snapped coldly!
As a member of China’s official institution, how could she believe something so preposterous?
She had heard of the legends of giant sand worms, known as Huo’s Undead Worms or Yulang Long Worms in China, described as fearsome creatures the size of trucks, living in deserts and Gobi.
Yet legends were just that—legends; no one had ever seen them with their own eyes, or even specimens, so how could she believe it was true?
However, to Jiang Feng, as he observed the vast desert below, he was only intrigued, not very skeptical.
After all, he had seen dragons; what was so strange about some undiscovered giant insects in this desolate place?
Moreover, having traversed the Cultivation Worlds and even experienced reincarnation, he knew there are things in this world unknown to the mundane!
"We’re here!"
Just then, before the two had time to digest it, Quanyang Chun pointed with his chin to a sandstorm-shrouded area of the desert below!
