Dream Life

Episode XV: Rebellion

July 12th, 8pm.

It was humid and hot that day, and dark clouds were dripping in the evening. And it's been raining heavily for about an hour now, and the sound of the rain grains knocking on the windows is echoing through the room.

Information from the Blacksmith Guild and Baron Oldham showed that the Chamber of Commerce for Wholesale Drugs, which will be the Oulet Chamber of Commerce in the commercial city of Aurelia, is involved in the purchase of weapons.

But I have no idea for what purpose the Chamber of Commerce that owlets bought the weapons and gave them to Maddock and the other bandits.

When I was talking to my father, my brother and Baron Oldham about my future correspondence, I realized something was wrong in the castle.

The baron commands his men to "come see something", but soon another man rushes into the room.

The man seems to be a civilian and quite upset. The baron said, "Something!,"

"Mm, it's a rebellion! Kick, the Knights take on the traitor Hubert Raswell! And I'm on my way over here, screaming!

Today's security is the Fourth Battalion of the First Knights, of which, he said, other than the Second Squadron, which is providing night security, is taking weapons and slashing them down one after the other to resist.

Even in the upstairs rooms where we are, the footsteps of the soldiers' butterflies grow louder. My father immediately said, "Take all your weapons! I will protect His Excellency the Governor! shouted," I grabbed my favorite bastard sword myself and headed outside the room.

We jump out into the hallway to get back to our room, too. Guys and Byron and their squire also grab their weapons and pop out of the room without asking back to their father's orders.

Byron was either to protect his mother and the three brothers, or he was headed to his mother's room.

Out in the hallway, you hear a fierce sword trident coming from the lower floor, saying, "Protect Your Excellency!," he shouted, "Take the traitor!" The voices are staggered.

(What's happening? Weren't the knights here trustworthy?

With that in mind, I'm going into our room and throwing my non-sword gear into storage magic (inventory). I also secured as much of Liddy's share as I could, holding only my sword, and following my father.

My father is on his way to the living room of the Borderline Uncle on the third floor, where the Borderline Uncle family lives. Fortunately, there was still no confusion here, and the immediate soldiers of the Borderline Uncle family stood anxiously in front of the door.

Baron Oldham said, "My lords, are the Francis safe! shouting," The soldier said, "Ha! Everyone entered the room earlier," he replies. It has been reported that his great-grandson Francis, his mother, Cordelia, and his brother's fiancée Rosalind are joining him.

The Baron said, "If you see enemies, report them out loud! Lord Masaias. Often, this is the occasion," he says, entering the door.

My father nodded to the baron, forming in front of the door. And he was trying to give instructions to Guy and Byron to intercept the enemy.

I was afraid of this place.

The living room of the Borderline Uncle family is located in the deepest part of the third floor. The living room is slightly south of the east side, but a hallway about five metres wide stretched north and south in front of the room, and stairs were set up at either end, threatening to be sandwiched.

"Father, this place doesn't taste good. You can intercept them, but they'll pinch you from both sides."

My father was thinking the same thing, he nods small, but says, "I must protect you, my lord," and lays down his weapon on the spot. I do have to intercept here, but at least try to just check the situation.

"We should let Guy and Dan scout. If we can secure an escape route, shouldn't we get out now?

My father nods "um," and orders the two of them to check the situation downstairs.

In the meantime, I'll take out my gear and Liddy's gear and put on some protective gear. My father has a slight bitter laugh in this situation when he says, "But it's a convenient one, its storage magic and how to do it".

Guy and Dan return in about two minutes to report the situation downstairs. Fighting was underneath both stairs, which meant they were slowly approaching.

My father went to report the matter to Uncle Borderline.

Baron Oldham's men and servants have come to join us, but since they are not samurai, they are unlikely to be useful.

Because my brother instructed me to escort him inside Uncle Border's room, there were only six of us left and a total of fifteen soldiers standing on the outpost with my brother, Guy, Byron, Enos, and five vigilante youths.

And except for the six of us and the soldiers at the outpost, they're just holding weapons, and they're not wearing any of the protective gear.

(Whatever Byron is, the Brets won't be able to fight any time soon... even if they magically reduce their power, range attack magic is hard to use in this place. Especially if you can't use fire attribute magic... like Liddy's good snow storm (Blizzard) or air hammer (Air Hammer)... and then disable it with black butterfly circular dance (Spanglewaltz)...)

The hallway is about twenty meters long on the south side and fifty meters on the north side, but there is no obstacle whatsoever, and I watched the hallway and wondered if I could magically create a barricade.

(... at least if this isn't in the castle, I can build walls with dirt walls (earthwall) and stone production (createstone)...)

The earth wall (Earthwall) is very inefficient if it is not in contact with the ground. I can't make a wall, but I can't make a choice at the moment because it consumes so much time and magic.

As a next good measure, I propose to create a barricade with furniture.

"Brother. Build a barricade. Line it up from a nearby room at a desk or whatever..."

That's all I said, the knights showed up from the north stairs.

"Sounds like it's too late, Zach! You take command of the south side! I defend the north side!

"Roger that! Liddy, Sharon! If the enemy approaches, we'll magically support them! ……

My voice carries my brother's orders.

"Guy, Dan, Mark attract enough and let go! Byron, Brett, Sid intercept with me! ……

My brother and Byron line up the middle of the hallway so that vigilante Brett and Sid can defend the edge. Behind it are spears so that Jim and Kevin, the magicians, fill the gap.

And you're in range, Guy and Dan, and the vigilante Mark unleashes one arrow after another. But I can't let heavily armed soldiers with shields do much damage.

Me and Liddy intercept Snow Storm (Blizzard) magic during the Guys' attack.

The temperatures in the hot and humid castle drop all at once in the middle of summer. Our magic succeeded in freezing the leading soldiers and stopping them on their feet.

Sharon measured when the Blizzard effect disappeared, releasing the highest output air hammer (air hammer). Even heavily equipped cavalry receives a chunk of air that blows away, and the soldiers who have stopped their legs fall like chess knockouts towards the back.

Did you hear the hustle and bustle in the hallway, during which my father was back?

"Your Excellency will use the escape route. Zach and the others need your protection!

Beatrice raises the opposite voice from behind.

"Shouldn't we make sure the way out is safe! I don't think the guys around here know how to get out of here!

My father said, "That's exactly what I wouldn't have," but he stopped and talked to me about what he thought.

"I will consult with Your Excellency. I want your opinion, too. Follow me...... Rod! You take command of this place!

Following my father, I enter the private room of Uncle Borderline.

Exactly the powerful, the private room of the northern governor, lined with luxurious furniture. But it doesn't feel gorgeous at all, as it stands for the crowd of Borderline Uncle.

Inside, the Borderline Uncle family and Baron Oldham, as well as the Borderline Uncle escort and several servants stared at us with an uneasy face.

When my father conveyed Beatrice's concerns to Borderline Uncle, he nodded loudly as to whether Borderline Uncle had come up with anything, too.

"Surely Lord Beatrice may be right. If Constance is part of this, the way out will be dangerous... he knows the way out exists"

I suggested to Uncle Borderline and my father, "Let Dan scout." Dan is good at covert behavior and detects signs well.

When Uncle Borderline nods, he calls Dan from the hallway. When Borderline Uncle briefly described the structure of the loophole, he quickly went inside the loophole behind the fireplace.

Me and my father will go back outside the hallway in the meantime to check on the war.

Only enemies had emerged from the north side yet, but had already allowed them to approach, and the brothers had slashed and tied with the enemy. The enemy is shielding, building a sideline and attacking.

On the front line are my brother, Byron, and his vigilante Brett and Sid on both wings, preventing the enemy. Enos and Beatrice, the magicians, were sticking spears out of the three sides, dealing steady damage to the enemy.

Among them, Byron and his brother's attacks were rolling.

Byron lets his powers say things, breaking enemy soldiers with huge two-handed swords on each shield. Next to it, his brother scratches the enemy's protruding sword and slashes off his arms clean from the bottom.

In addition to that, Liddy and Sharon were magic, and Guys were attacking them with bows, causing definite damage to the enemy. In addition, Beatrice and other magicians are attacking from the gap of the avant-garde and following the brothers.

But the enemy makes no damage, and ignores the death of his colleagues and comes forward.

(There's something wrong with the enemy's movements. Even when attacked, they come towards us with little regard. It's like a soldier ant...)

Despite the brothers' struggles, one enemy soldier after another pushed down the hallway, the number of which had already exceeded thirty.

Enemy soldiers are on the front line fighting, but they don't stop walking. Even fierce men like Byron, his brother and Beatrice had difficulty knocking down heavily armed soldiers with one blow, and his allies retreated slightly.

I decided to use a trump card to crack this situation open.

"Father! I will use magic!

Without hearing from my father, I started casting spells of Dark Attribute Magic, Black Butterfly Circle Dance (Spanglewaltz).

"Night and peace, God of darkness (Noctis). Give me the black butterfly that will take your move. I will not give you the power of my life at that price. Bind my enemies... Dance, Black Butterfly! Black Butterfly Circle Dance (Spanglewaltz)!"

Less magic than the last one and activate it in about thirty seconds. Unlike the last time in the day, the power of the Spirit was easy to accumulate due to the darkness outside.

A pitch-black bald butterfly flies out of my right hand. The narrow hallway is filled with black butterflies, blocked by the light of the lighted demonic props illuminating the hallway at equal intervals, and shadows fall on the enemy soldiers. The butterflies flew as I would, to the back of the hallway, sticking one after the other in the face of the enemy soldiers.

Now when I could buy time, I exhaled in relief, but the next moment, I doubted my own eyes.

A black butterfly sticks to the face of an enemy soldier, but they don't care about it, they slash it. A butterfly stuck to about thirty enemy soldiers, but two or three fell, and most enemy soldiers never stopped moving when butterflies stuck.

(Why! Why isn't it working! No, now is not the time to think about it. If the dark attributes don't work, we just have to physically eliminate them...)

While I hid my agitation, I decided to use the original magic of the wind attribute this time.

"I will use magic again! Now there could be a blast! Don't let it blow you away!

When I screamed like that, I started casting spells.

The enemy's movements are monotonous but very powerful. And Brett and Sid, who are inferior in skill to a fearless attack, are continually slashed down by their enemies. When they fell, there was blood under their bodies. There was a clump, which was soon sucked away by the carpet.

My father said, "Mark! Kevin, get Brett and Sid!" while ordering the rescue of the two, he sets his sword and heads to the front line. The two holes were successfully filled with my father and soldiers who stood guard, preventing the collapse of the front line.

I will cast the original wind attribute magic spell as I see the sight.

The weakness of wind attribute magic is that when it hits an obstacle, it disappears. Fire Attribute Magic also deals damage to the surroundings with the heat of fire, but in the case of Wind Attributes, the magic extinguishes and no other damage is inflicted as soon as it hits the target.

Of course, like an air hammer (air hammer), it can cause secondary damage by blowing up the subject, but blades made of wind attributes and the like disappear with the hit.

I wondered if I could replace that weakness with an advantage, and I came up with some magic. The magic was impractical, but it was decided that it could only be used this time.

"It is the god of the wind (Wentus) who brings many winds. Explode and give me air. I will not give you the power of my life. Defeat my enemy! Explosive Balloons!

Dozens of clear balloon-like spheres from my right hand towards the enemy. Its size is about fifteen centimeters in diameter, and it flies over the head of the enemy with the feeling of flutter.

The enemy soldiers had no interest in the transparent balloon. The balloon went over the head of the enemy soldiers, as I ordered.

"It explodes! Bear with me!

Shortly after I scream, dozens of balloons explode in unison.

Slightly lower bong! The sound of an explosion overlaps and the air shakes heavily. And as the tinnitus named Gene clings, enemy soldiers fall like pierced puppets one after the other.

This original magic, the Ixplosive Balloon, is an application of the Hammer of Air (air hammer).

The air hammer is the magic of directing and beating a chunk of air, but the Ixplosive Balloon is the magic of keeping compressed air floating in the air in the image of a balloon.

The original use was defense from ranged attacks in the open areas. Imagine a combination of obstructed balloons and explosive reaction armor, and when an attack magic or arrow hits this balloon, the balloon explodes to deflect or neutralize the attack.

It was passive (passive) defensive magic rather than active (active) shooting, so it lasted too long and consumed too much magic to be used.

This time I came up with the idea of using that explosive power. When the balloon is in place, explode simultaneously. Naturally, one shock at a time is far weaker than the air hammer, but the blast comes from various directions just above and beside the head, so the aim is to shake the head violently and cause a concussion. It was bump production this time, but it looks like it went right for it.

"Stop the enemy soldiers while you can! Now your enemy's body should be out of the way and you can't get out front!

Of the soldiers that followed, those who did not take damage are still trying to move forward, but their bodies take their feet and cannot step forward because more than thirty heavily armed soldiers in metal armor have fallen.

Some soldiers tried to regain consciousness and stand up to stand back, but they were losing their sense of equilibrium, pulling their legs again and again, which was unnecessarily holding back the enemy's advance.

My father stabs a stop at the enemy soldiers in the front row in that gap, and takes away even more of the shield that the enemy soldiers had.

"Whatever it is, you've earned time."

When my father groaned so, he said to his brothers, "Lay down your shields and build a fence! The magician will attack you in the meantime!," he commands, picking up his shield himself.

We managed to hold down the enemy soldiers attacking us from the north side, but soon the enemy soldiers came up from the other side, also from the south stairs. With only about twenty meters of distance from the stairs, enemy soldiers are quickly approaching.

There were three people on the south side: Mel, Beatrice and Guy.

Soon I'll pull my sword out, too, and head to the front. Liddy and Sharon were also beginning to cast spells and prepare for cover.

I said, "We're stopping the enemy's legs!," he exclaims, slaughtered from the upper stages by an approaching enemy soldier with a shield.

Next to my left, Mel put the bastard sword in the middle and said, "Ha!" and pierce the neck of an enemy soldier with a shield over his head trying to prevent my attack.

Moreover, Beatrice, next to him to the right, takes advantage of the long reach and buries the enemy soldiers for a gap in the shield.

And I use demon fighting techniques to kick into enemy soldiers that Mel has mortally wounded, causing confusion to enemy soldiers who come forward.

In the meantime, Liddy and Sharon finished casting the spell.

I'm on the far right wing, telling Guy, "Guy! Get down!" he commands, lowering his head with momentum pounding one knee. Mel and Beatrice alike lower their posture and secure the radiation of the Liddies.

Shortly afterwards, the magic of Liddy and Sharon flies to plunder overhead. They were expecting us to break down the enemy line, or they were releasing a good air hammer (air hammer) at exactly the same time.

The two unleashed chunks of compressed air blew out the enemy soldiers who were on the verge of losing their balance, involving about ten of them in the aftermath.

Me, Mel, and Beatrice are going to kill each other to stab a stop at the confused enemy. Behind, Liddy and Sharon were spelling and getting ready to unleash their next magic.

Within a minute or so of the enemy rising, the three avant-garde men succeed in burying about five enemies as well as lowering them by about five meters.

Guy decided he couldn't keep up with our collaboration, or he was switching to support by bow.

Silent collaboration, but as we three avant-gardes retreat to stick to the left and right walls, immediately afterwards, about thirty centimeters from the floor, flying with a blade of vacuum spinning just about two metres wide around the height of our knees, making the sound of cutting through the air.

Looks like Liddy and Sharon chose the whirlwind blade (windblade) by stopping the enemy's foot.

He jumps over enemy soldiers falling in the front row and hits a subsequent leg trying to step on his side and advance. I couldn't cut off the leg protected by the shin (greaves), but still succeeded in tearing down the armor and tipping the three soldiers over.

Mel, who was gauging its timing, pops up like a bobcat, with the mood for tearing. Mel's aim was two enemy soldiers who were magical on their feet and fell over. She had precisely slashed and torn the neck of an enemy soldier, instantly letting them both die.

Beatrice was flying out the same way, and a pile of enemy soldiers' bodies had been built before us.

Repeat the battle a few times, but the enemy will appear gushing, impeccable.

"Mel! Beatrice! Use the Explosive Balloon, the blast's air mass! Hold your enemies down for just one minute!

Without hearing from the two of you, I will cast a spell. My missing hole was filled by Guy and he was stopping enemy soldiers from advancing.

"It is the god of the wind (Wentus) who brings many winds. Explode and give me air. I will not give you the power of my life. Defeat my enemy! Explosive Balloons!

With the completion of the spell, a clear balloon flies from your right hand toward the head of the enemy soldier. My aim this time is the staircase part. Because I thought if we could attack enemy soldiers in the middle of the stairs, we could buy time.

Slowly about thirty balloons fly away and reach the staircase section.

"Explosion!"

Balloons play in my screams all at once, Bon! The bursting sound echoed down the hallway.

Shortly after that, you can hear a soldier in metal armor named Gashangashan tumbling down the stairs.

Meanwhile, we finally took a breather, eliminating the surviving enemy soldiers that Mel and Beatrice had left in the hallway.
