Dream Life

Lesson 33: Behind: Previous

Tria calendar July 20, 2017 at 3: 30 pm.

My name is Eleanor Masefield. I work as a samurai at Welburn Castle.

My parents are small village lords, and my father told me to find someone to behave as an apprentice and marry, and I came to this castle.

It's been four years since I started working. I'll be seventeen this year, but I haven't met anyone who still looks good.

There was only one, to be exact.

That person is Dear Rodrick Lockhart.

A beautiful man with a slender, tall, gentle face. A humble personality whose martial name has been high since I first met you, and who, then, does not boast of anything about it. Dorothy, a childhood friend and colleague - Dorothy Hodinott - and she said, "I want that person to confess her love," but she marries Miss Rosalie. The lady and Lady Rodrick are a good couple, and I sincerely congratulate them, but I wanted to dream a little more.

There's really been a lot going on in the last six months or so.

When I heard the Lockhart family could come, the first thing I thought about was what kind of a brother you, Master Zacharias, were like.

The Lockhart family is a knight's house, but the Hall of Fame - Hubert Raswell Borderline Bob - has been met with respect, and rumor has it that if your Lord Masaias wishes, he is famous enough to be described to the Viscount immediately.

Besides, Master Zacharias is a genius who graduated from that prestigious Tilia School of Magic as its chief. Speaking of the head of the School of Magic, someone promising enough in the future to be a court magician equivalent to a senior nobleman in every country. Besides, there are rumors that the arms of the sword are comparable to Master Rodrick's, and I was very interested in who he was. Of course, all the young ladies thought the same thing.

The first time I saw you was when you arrived at the castle. He was just as slender and tall as Master Rodrick, and his black monochrome gear looked great on him. Besides, your face peeking from your helmet is riddled, and the moment you had your eyes, your chest became so pungent.

What surprised me was that Baron Oldham, who bound the civilian formula, was always spoken in a respectful tone. I don't know if you're the son of a senior aristocrat, but we were all surprised.

At first I thought maybe. But I gave up immediately.

'Cause the four of them have fiancées. That's just beauty that doesn't even reach my feet either. Looks like Dorothy thought the same thing, and when she got back to her room, she said, "Sir Zacharias is the head of the School of Magic and looks good, but you sound like a great lady lover. It's very different from Master Rodrick," he laughed.

My first impression was like that, but he was a very amazing person.

When the rebellion broke out in the castle, I heard the Lockhart family guarded the house. Especially since Master Zacharias stood alone outside the hall room, guarding the door. Again, I'm surprised he's a daring man, unlike he looks, to stand alone against the Knights' elite.

But perhaps the most impressive part is when the feast meeting that was two days ago...

Around 3pm on July 18th two days ago.

Usually precious time for a paragraph of work and just a short break between dinners. But that day was different. Because our maids and cooks and waiters were gathered in the dining room.

There was William, the head chef, and Fergus, the head waitress, and Barbara Harding, the head samurai, consulting with each other in a tense manner.

Master Barbara and I have been dating since we went up to the castle, but I thought you couldn't change your expression no matter what. The Barbara has a crease between her brows.

It wasn't an atmosphere where I could speak a private language, but I accidentally told Dorothy next door, "Do you know what happened?" So much so that I hear it whisper. Dorothy didn't seem to know anything either, and she was shaking her neck to the side.

Master Barbara started explaining where everyone was.

"Wine will now be served by the Lockhart family for the feast the day after tomorrow"

We nodded in doubt. Alcohol accompanies the feast, and it is not so uncommon for noble houses to bring their secret wines and ales to their celebratory seats.

"They say the wine is something special called sparkling wine. Sir Zacharias himself has only one name in the world he has made…"

When I heard the story, I remembered a rumor about Master Zacharias. A strong alcoholic namesake namesake namesake namesake namesake namesake “Scotch” is said to be Master Zacharias, and the other day we were also told that a get-together was planned between the family of the hall and the blacksmith guild and that rare alcoholic beverages were served.

"... this sparkling wine liquor is admired by the hall and the lady..."

So Master Barbara cut the words. And strengthen your voice a little,

"And from here on out, it's important that you admire the way Sir Zacharias serves, and that you ask us to guide you…"

Apparently, Master Zacharias teaches us how to handle and serve alcohol. He's the second son of a knight's house, famous as a mage and an adventurer, but how talented he is to be top notch in service.

That was past the corner of my head, but I had more to worry about than that. Why is the chief samurai, the chief chef and the foreman so nervous?

"... and the glass will also use what was given to it by the Lockhart family..."

This time the Lockhart family is offering a glass, but I think Barbara's voice was shaking a little when explaining it.

Finally, at 7 p.m. after dinner this afternoon, Master Zacharias said he would see you, and Barbara's explanation was finished.

Dorothy raises her hand as everyone looks at each other worried about asking questions.

"Um... how are the Barbaras... uh, nervous? Is there something difficult?

You asked me what we all thought. Dorothy is a daughter who doesn't think things over too deeply, so it helps a lot at times like this. I cannot ask such questions very well.

Master Barbara nodded small and began to explain to everyone with a serious look.

"May I? Sir Zacharias is young but deeply crafted about alcohol, and the Dwarf blacksmiths are enough to get a glimpse of him. According to the story told by the hotel, not only is there expected to be a very detailed demand for the choice of the right dish for the alcohol, but also for the temperature of the alcohol, the timing of its serving and the glasses to be used…"

I thought I didn't have to be so restrained. Some people are a little frightened that people around them think the same thing. But the next word stopped everyone moving.

"... As you will see later, the glass used this time was made by Sir Zacharias, and he said it was such a work of art that even His Majesty the Emperor could not have it. According to the museum, it's worth more than one large gold coin for sparkling wine and a few white gold coins for distilled liquor called" rock glasses ”."

One large gold coin is 500C (Krona) (= 500,000 yen) and one white gold coin is 000C (Krona). It's incredible to me to use something like that just to drink.

I see the complexion of all of us. I see it. It goes blue. With one white gold coin, a civilian's family can live for six months.

If “Rock Glass” was reassured that the servants would carry it, Master Barbara told us that at the end of the feast we would have to carry it with alcohol as well. This means that we must also carry more works of art than the annual income of the civilian population. I don't think I can help thinking if I crack it.

Of course, there are expensive dishes in this castle. But the only thing that cracks is special customer ceramics, so it's okay to carry it nervously once. But not a glass of alcohol. Because once you carry it, you can't end it. Thinking about it, it was getting dark in front of me.

Master Barbara began to speak as forcefully as if to show determination here.

"... Sir Zacharias is the wedding feast of Lady Rosalind and your brother, Lord Rodrick, which provided all this at all costs. We have a duty to respond to that! Empire One, no, we must make it the best feast in the world. You're all ready to hit it."

After that, no one opened their mouth. Not only because of me, but because even cheerful Dorothy had lost her word.

Lady Zacharias was given enough glasses to reach 200,000 C (Krona) (= about 200 million yen) for the marriage of her daughter and Lady Rodrick. We are obliged to make it a feast worthy of it. The more painfully well I understood what Master Barbara wanted to say.

Everyone's face was slightly distorted. I think maybe my stomach is hurting thinking about two days later. At least my stomach was sore.

And 7pm.

The samurai, servants and cooks in charge of the feast were gathered in the dining room.

Upon entering the dining room, hundreds of beautiful glasses were arranged on the table. It's like a sparkling gem in the light of a pale lighted demonic prop, but I couldn't afford to be impressed with it.

Master Zacharias came into the dining room. Beautiful women from elves and tiger beasts follow behind, but no one showed any interest in them, including the young men in service and cooking. Because we were just looking at Master Zacharias.

You felt our nervousness, Master Zacharias smiles bitterly.

And you regained your mind, smiled uncontrollably, and slowly walked in front of Master Barbara.

Then all of a sudden, he fell on one knee and thanked your wife.

"Thank you for today, Master Harding"

For a moment, Master Barbara solidified. Because Master Zacharias mouthed the back of Master Barbara's right hand.

"Yeah, it's nice to meet you. Sir Zacharias."

I answer that with a smile, but I have little of my usual cold impression. On the contrary, I feel a little red on my cheeks.

I'm sorry to say this, but it seemed like a disgrace to me like the girl who stood in front of my first love.

Master Barbara is still single, looks pretty young but should have turned thirty-five this year. He's a brilliant guy and a very reliable boss, but he seems to get a bit of a cold impression when he first meets you. Because of this, even though you are beautiful in person, all young men pull off. Well, Dear Barbara, you yourself said you wouldn't rely on young men, so maybe you don't really care.

It is very surprising that Master Barbara is blushing her cheeks like that. I'm sorry to say this, but Master Zacharias is no stranger to Barbara's son.

Master Zacharias quickly got to the point whether he was aware of it or not. The look on Barbara's face made me look a little lonely.

"We don't have much time until two days from now, so I'll just explain the gist. It's not that hard. Take it easy and listen."

"Nice to meet you," said head down with the same look that the paying superintendent, Mr. Fergus, had in mind, and we rush to bow our heads in the same way.

When I looked up, Master Zacharias was looking back at Mr. Lydiane the Elf and Beatrice the Tiger Beast Man for help with a troubled face.

I was a little offended by the look they were both about to laugh at.

'Cause this one's serious, so it's rude to want to make that interesting.

Master Zacharias began his explanation with the same look he gave up.

"I'll ask you first, then. You all seem to care about the glass, but you can break this one. Don't worry too much because it's magical and easy to rebuild. If you concentrate too much on the glass, the movement becomes extra stiff, and first of all, it's not beautiful…"

I can't believe you're not nervous when you say that. I think other people think the same thing.

"... then from the basics. It's very obvious, but cleanliness is of the utmost importance. Especially keep your fingertips neat to your nails..."

At first, I wondered what I was talking about. Our hands are naturally clean because we serve the guests of the hall and nobility to them.

"… it is in the hands of those served that it is always in the customer's eyes when placing the glass. It would be quicker if you looked at it once..."

That said, you told Master Barbara to sit in a chair and hold the glass in his hand.

He held the leg part of the glass and placed the glass in front of Master Barbara in a suffocating way.

It looked like a casual trick, but it was such a beautiful move. I know very well that the hotel was impressed.

"Dear Harding, What do you say? Don't you have a gaze on your fingertips?

Master Barbara is slightly inclined in the neck.

Master Zacharias was snorted with a grin and called out to one of his servants.

"Could you put the glass in front of Master Harding in the same way?

The servant looks a little troubled, but placed the glass just like Master Zacharias.

Master Barbara's face gave me a surprise look.

"Okay! I do have my eyes on a beautiful glass at first. But when I had a little bit of a concern about the hand I had, my eyes went over there. You want to say that."

I was watching it back there, too, but it certainly was.

I was just curious because the fingertips of the service were slightly blackened.

"I'm a swordsman, so I'm not a very pretty finger. But just a little careful is enough...... nails are short, and make sure there is no dirt between the nails. This may not be very helpful, but let's take a look at my fingers..."

That's what I said, and Master Barbara showed me his fingers in turn.

I showed it to you, too, but it was really beautiful. It seems to be cut short and trimmed with a razor or something. Compared to my own fingers, I have slightly longer nails, and I feel just a little dull. As bad as I thought of that even for a woman, I think the men on the payroll are worse.

"I'm not even saying you guys are unhygienic, but you still seem to have a little dirt between your nails. I'll leave some soap behind, so please keep it clean for yourself."

And leave the soap in the crate.

It was the finest soap in the village of Rasmore.

There's soap in this castle, but what we use is cheaper. Still, I heard they've become available in the last few years. And the soap in the village of Rasmore is so luxurious that the halls will use it. I was more surprised to hear you say to our servants to use it unmasterfully.

Although we were a little overwhelmed, Lady Zacharias was immediately beginning to tell the next story.

"Your next move, yes, what you do is important. Pay attention to each and every move…"

Also, I thought it was a basic story in the basics. But because of what happened earlier, we're all listening seriously.

"Beautiful standing with stretched spines, and being served with sophisticated movements, is something that gives more satisfaction to invited guests. The slightly restless movements and restless behavior are very ugly…"

Master Zacharias was somehow spoken with enthusiasm. I wonder if it was an experience somewhere. So much so that we shared practical examples and explained them.

"… for example, if the serving side shows a stray, the doubt arises as to whether it was also a glitch. Even trivial things can affect the flavour of a dish. Conversely, guests can feel safe when they serve their dishes with dignity and confidence. Many people do not understand this. It's really lamentable..."

Master Zacharias also had a bit of a bitter laugh when he realized he was getting a little hot. From behind us I could hear the laughter of an elf and a tiger beast woman tickling.

"... let's talk about this and actually do it"

Master Zacharias held a tray and was put on about five glasses. And slowly, but with a firm foothold, he stood beside Master Barbara again.

I'm leaning on my torso like a bow, but my back is straight. The glass is placed once in the right side of Master Barbara, feeling soothed, and further sliding over the cross in the sense of holding down to the glass table.

"Enjoy, please"

No matter how many times I look at it, I think the same thing. I really wondered if this guy was that unreliable adventurer. I've even felt the fun of a veteran who's been serving for decades.

As soon as I thought of that, everyone told me to stand.

"So long, folks. For once, please stand in the way you think you deserve the most. Right. Think it was just before you started serving...... now His Excellency the Governor says hello and as soon as it's over, distribute alcohol, imagine the occasion......"

That's what they say and I try to stand with my spine stretched out, but I didn't know if that was a good idea for me. 'Cause I've never stood there thinking about it before.

Beginning with Master Barbara, the foreman, Mr. Fergus, is also bewildered.

First Master Barbara held a tray and stood before Master Zacharias.

"That's Mr. Harding. Beautiful standing. But... can you allow me to touch the lady's arm?"

Master Barbara was suddenly confused by the words and nodded, "Ha, yes".

"Excuse me," said Master Zacharias, gently placing his hand on his arm, his left arm, holding Master Barbara's tray. She pulls her left arm slightly and moves it to a slightly diagonal position. Master Barbara, while turning bright red, honestly followed it.

That alone stretched my spine and the feminine undulating lines seemed slightly accentuated. My arms are nicely in front of the apron, so much so that I'm impressed with how much things change with so little triviality.

"This is perfect. Ladies and gentlemen, please use Master Harding as a model."

Master Barbara turned bright red, but was maintained in that attitude and ordered to "begin, then, all of you".

Master Zacharias started checking with the suppliers, "Please stretch your spine firmly," or "Your shoulders are too high. Without force," he had been given detailed instructions.

I also mastered my basic standing in about five minutes. But I wonder if this attitude is surprisingly tiring.

The confirmation of Master Zacharias is complete and we will proceed to the next phase.

I thought it would finally be a way to serve alcohol, but this time it wasn't. The next step was how to handle the glass.

"Next it's about the glass. Always polish the glass thoroughly before use. Especially glasses of sparkling wine…"

I also took this for granted. Again, as we looked bewildered, Master Zacharias nodded small and asked us to explain why.

"Why not? With a little cloudiness and dust, I can't make beautiful bubbles... I'd rather see this once too than say it with my mouth. Mr. Fergus, sparkling wine, please."

The foreman immediately brought a large metal vessel. It glowed silver in the form of a haunted goblet with legs about fifty or sixty cm in diameter. It contains five bottles of glass "bottles" along with large ice.

I wondered if I was made of silver, but when I heard it later, I was told that I was coating special iron with silver-like metal. There's a wine cooler in this castle too, but that's like a wooden barrel and beauty is not comparable.

This wine cooler was also prepared by Master Zacharias. I wonder how much stuff you've brought. Such an idea overtakes your mind for a moment.

Master Zacharias removed a bottle from the wine cooler.

The bottle had a thin neck and was plugged with wood, which was tightly fixed with wire.

"It's a corner, so we'll also look at an example of how to open it. Loosen this wire in this way...... Torsion, cover the stopper with this napkin and slowly turn it open...... finally use force to unlock the stopper while slowly pulling out the gas inside......"

It's very picturesque even though it just opens the plug. So much so that I also feel something like colour from a black shirt with the collar button off.

I hear a "nice" voice from around me. I didn't know who said it, but maybe it was like Barbara.

I heard a slight shrug, and when I removed the napkin, the plug was opened nicely. I've never tried this form of plug before, but strangely, the shape where it was in the bottle was swollen enormously. I thought you couldn't do a plug with that, but now is not the time. That's how I watch Master Zacharias' hands.

"Then I'll actually pour it into the glass. Tilt the glass and pour quietly…"

Hold the bottle with one hand and pour quietly into the beveled glass. The sweet, refreshing aroma drifts slightly. When poured out, he tries to turn the bottle around, cut the drops, quietly wipe the mouth area, and then gracefully wipe it with a napkin.

Five servants below the head of the payroll and fifteen servants below the head of the maid stare at the glass as they surround Master Zacharias. In a clear, thin golden liquid, a small bubble rises from the bottom of the glass without running out. Unexpectedly, I voiced "beautiful," but besides me, I was just as admirable.

"In a polished glass, this is how clean the foam is. If there's any oil left..."

You said that, take the butter from the nearby one and attach it just a little bit to the inside of the glass.

"This is an extreme example, but here's what happens"

When I say that and pour the wine, a bubble larger than the other part of the bubble comes out of the butter stain like a small dot. Doesn't look so different to me, but it's more beautiful to polish clean by comparison.

"Even with this slight stain, you don't get beautiful bubbles. Foaming (sparkling) wines are also an important element of appearance beauty. Very troublesome, but please polish with a clean napkin just before serving"

We were satisfied with the explanation. Because it was a really beautiful drink. I felt very knowledgeable about restraining myself not only to the glass, but even to the hands I serve.

Master Zacharias looked satisfied that everyone was convinced. But it looked like an elderly teacher watching over an ill-minded child to me for some reason.

With that said, I thought you said that Master Zacharias would explain only the main points at the outset. But I didn't think this was the only point.

'Cause I'm pretty sure there's more to it.
