Dream Life

Lesson 56: The Magic Sword

Tria Calendar September 24, 2017.

I'm here for a new sword meeting at Ulrich Drexler's workshop, the head of the Blacksmith Alliance's Artisan Union (Alliance). We were to try out a magic sword that granted attribute magic in that story.

Handed over is Longsword, a long sword made of Mithril, which is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow, and has been granted a fire attribute.

After a few bareback gestures, he became familiar with his hands, impressed that that was the masterpiece representing the blacksmith's guild, and before he knew it, he muttered, "Wow..."

I'm going to scratch this wonderful sword and I really feel hesitant.

"That's really good."

With that in mind, he headed toward the rugged metal armor installed as a trial slaughter.

The metal armor to be targeted is the chest of steel plate mails, which, although conspicuous in dents and scratches, will still be sufficiently practical to withstand. Used goods in a normal city, which is not strange if bought or sold as a premium category.

A light tap with your fist returns a gong and a heavy sound. Whether it's heavy armor or or armor thickness is considerable, giving you a feeling of weight that gives you peace of mind.

Stand in front of the armor and exhale slowly.

Because this long sword is a complete one-handed sword, the overall balance is very different from the length of the gripping (grip) part of the one-handed half sword (bastard sword) that you usually use. I still felt a little uncomfortable when I set it up.

While holding back that discomfort, pull your right hand so that you are slightly half-body, and take the stand to punch in.

After taking the stand, he exhaled "Phew" for a long time in order to drain his strength once.

The moment you exhale all your breath, shake your sword up and slash it down diagonally so that it hangs.

I anticipated the sound of a metal clash called "cancer," but the sound when it was slashed and torn was the sound of “zash”. I wouldn't even try to tear thin paper in response, but it's close to feeling like I cut the cardboard with a cutter knife with a good cut.

When I looked at the targeted armor, it ripped from my left shoulder to the area around Mitsuru as I aimed. Does that cross section shine silver and feel more like it was torn apart than cut off?

And the sword that tore its heavy armor apart, but instead of blade ruining, it didn't even have any rubbing marks and remained mirror-like in beauty.

"Wow... so much cleavage... Sometimes the magic of hardening is just granted..."

With that said, I give Ulrich my sword. He narrowed his eyes and stared at himself to see if there were any wounds, etc., and nodded, "That's not a discerning arm."

"Now let me wrap my magic around you and slay you."

That's what he said as he gave me his sword.

Magic sword activation, but no particularly difficult procedure.

The sword called the Magic Sword is fitted with a magic crystal stone that collects the "power of the Spirit" in the patterned part, and when you pour your own magic into that magic crystal stone, the Magic Stone and the magic formations carved around it are automatically activated, a mechanism that collects the power of the Spirit to activate the magic. They need some practice by the time they get the hang of it, except for the sorcerer, but if they can only imagine sending in the power, they can get the hang of it in an hour or so.

This magic formation, but it has a very complicated tattoo, and I showed it to you, but I didn't understand it. The blacksmiths are going to pass on the tattoos of this magic formation in oral biography, and even Professor Raspade, the landlord of magic props and magic formation research, said he couldn't decipher what the magic formation meant at first sight.

As Ulrich told me, I gather the power of the Spirit of Fire with the same feeling as unchanging magic. I feel the grip warm slightly and the power of the Spirit gathering in the sword.

Imagine a flame where you felt it had gathered to some extent, so that it would also be as hot as possible.

When the image was passed on to the sword, his full body emitted a dazzling light and at once he was engulfed in a blue and white flame. Without a second, your body is engulfed in flames, exactly what you deserve to call a flaming sword.

(This guy is awesome...)

I get excited about the magic sword I use for the first time, but I immediately remember the trial slaughter and slowly put my left foot forward.

Ha! Slash the armor in the opposite direction from earlier, along with the temper.

An indescribable soft feeling comes into my hands. It was very different from earlier, it felt very little like I was cutting solids, and it was a response to soaking up. Would the nearest feel like cutting the butter with a warm knife?

A few moments after I waved down my sword, the sound of a metal named Gashan falling on a hard floor sounded. Some of the armor melted and slowly fell.

It was an event in front of me, but for a moment, I didn't know what had happened. It never seemed real that sturdy armor could have melted so easily. The brain may have rejected the information I saw with my eyes because I had so many opportunities to see welding in factories and elsewhere that it could not have been so easily dissolved.

I was thinking about that, but realizing that I would remain flame-wrapped on my sword, I would stop supplying magic.

I was staring at the sword in my hand as I was silent.

(I didn't think it would be this far... it's like there's no such thing as protective equipment...)

I gently touched my hand on my torso. I should have wrapped up in a fierce flame by then, but I only have enough heat to feel slightly warm.

When I look at Ulrich, my mouth opens slightly for some reason, staring at me in a sense of surprise. His disciples, and the guild clerk Jack Harper, have an equally eye-opening and surprising look.

I got anxious and I said, "Is that even awkward?" I ask.

A few moments are free. Ulrich had a slightly plundered voice,

"I've never seen a user like you... what have you done? By his ability, the calories should have gone this far..."

I didn't understand what I was talking about at first, but as I rebuffed his words, I found myself pulling out an incredible amount of performance with this long sword.

Ulrich snapped, "I can't think of anything normal,"

"Perhaps your magical talent has something to do with it... but when I waved it normally, it turned out to be Noon's expected arm. I was impressed that Lion Heart Govan had just trained me, but I still have more swordsmen than you to sweep and throw away... Bye..."

I was surprised by the fact that as many blacksmiths as Ulrich are so surprised.

(Normally, does that mean you can't produce so many cuts? I did imagine a high temperature flame... maybe a regular swordsman imagines a red flame...)

I explained the reasoning to the blacksmiths.

Ulrich groaned, "I see..."

"Sure, folks, the color of the flames when the trees burn. Exactly the color of a flaming sword... your flames are not the same as burnt charcoal. But I'm pretty sure it stayed hot..."

It feels like you're going to work for me there.

"Didn't you use a lot of magic? I'm sure a magician would know what it's like around there, but aren't you pushing it?

Ulrich seems to think I'm a magician, so he put more magic into it than usual and turned up the heat.

(You shouldn't be using so much magic. Today is just for the light thin sword (shining saber) I just used, so if you subtract that... Is the MP I used about 100? So you're saying the conversion efficiency of the power of the Spirit is good?

The magic I used this time was about three percent of my total magic power (MP). It's about twenty seconds in time, so a simple multiplication will only hold enough.

However, it felt like it consumed MP when it was activated. MP consumption may vary between startup and maintenance.

"Can I activate it again? I just want to make sure."

It was Ulrich who was still stunned, but he nodded, "I don't care."

After obtaining the acknowledgement, I checked the remaining MP and tried to activate the magic sword.

(Again... it takes quite a bit when activated... if you just keep it, it's hardly a problem...)

When you start while checking your status, you consume about eighty at startup and only about once a second if you just keep the flame.

(Without repeated activation and shutdown, endure enough practicality. You should have it as a magic sword...... and yet, what was the story about the high consumption of magic?... Well, it's because of my total Magic Power (MP). Because there are few MPs for non-magician swordsmen...)

It's a fact I found out because I can check my status, but my total MP is about 3,600. So if you just maintain it, you have about an hour to calculate.

Generally there are many magician MPs. I remember, but when I dreamed of creating characters, I think the mage level was in the calculation of the total MP. Maybe it's the effect.

If the average of the status were fifty, the total MP would have been about five hundred, so if you use eighty for activation, you would lose MP in about seven minutes. Consistent with Professor Raspade's findings that "magic runs out in five to enough minutes”.

(Now, what to do with the attributes... "fire” and “light” are common... we should go with “fire” or “light” here without wonder...)

Magic swords are commonly attributed to fire and light. For once, all attributes can be granted, but there is a “water" that wraps up cold air and a “wind” that wraps up a vacuum blade in addition to fire and light that directly improves attack power.

I feel that the dark attribute can also be expected to have an effect on the spirit, but it is said that the magic sword of it does not exist because the study of the dark attribute itself has not progressed. It's just a rumor, by the way, that the Demons can make magical swords of dark attributes.

There are three other attributes of earth, gold and tree, but each has a different effect.

Because the earthly attribute can impart an adjusting effect of weight, it can be used in a manner that I said increases attack power by increasing weight or, conversely, increases speed by decreasing it.

Metallicity has the effect of increasing hardness, and if it is a magic sword, it usually comes with a set, and the hardened granted sword is less likely to cause blade breakage, rust, etc., making it close to maintenance-free. They say it's normal to make sure that this hardening magic is activated automatically - so-called passive (passive) - just by holding a sword.

The hardest to understand is the tree attribute. The tree attribute is a magic also used for healing magic, from which it can be allowed to have an automatic repair function. However, it is hardly used because it is difficult to add large amounts of magic to the automatic repair function at the same time as the opposite attribute, metallicity.

By the way, about granting more than one attribute, but it seems very difficult to simultaneously grant the same attribute overlay or anti-attribute - light and darkness, fire and water, etc. They can't even be super first-rate blacksmiths like Ulrich, and currently, only armorer gauge notes can grant each other true or reverse attributes.

To Ulrich, who is still moaning, "I would love it to be a magic sword. Attributes are in fire or light," he tells them.

"I don't mind that...... I'm sorry, but could you try some other swords? I still can't believe it..."

When I asked him what he couldn't believe, he said that the magic sword he used this time was only incorporating enough magic formations to withstand it because it was hard to say that the magic crystal stone was the finest. This means that although the flames can be wrapped up, they do not have enough performance to dissolve the metal.

One of the disciples gives Ulrich a large two-handed sword of brilliant decoration.

"This is what mercenaries in Mercenary Country (Fortis) asked for. Light attributes are incorporated. Compared to the earlier one, it uses an exceptionally fine Demonic crystal stone..."

The sword I have handed to you while explaining was a claymore-like, two-handed type sword with a cross shaped bamboo (guard) about one and five meters long.

"... this guy is also a misrill... don't you need any more explanation for Gudagda? Bring a new one!

The armor that was earlier targeted will be removed and a new similar armor will be installed.

At the end of the installation, the disciples descend behind Ulrich.

Ulrich pointed to the new target,

"Excuse me, can you kill this with that?"

I nod small and admit it.

He tames the heavy-duty two-handed sword by shaking it bare several times and stands in front of the armor.

Inject Magic Power (MP) while checking status. Exactly the same procedure as earlier, but now imagine the light, gathering the power of the Spirit. Then, gradually, his body began to shine and at the end of the day he was emitting such an orange light that he couldn't keep staring. By the way, there was no sound effect called boom.

(Is the MP used to activate about 100? Sounds a little too much...... maintenance...... this is not so different earlier......)

After spending about five seconds checking the status, relative to the armor.

And then, undisturbed, he waved his sword down with the temper of tearing.

The moment I swung through my sword, I thought I missed my sight.

I wasn't very responsive.

Without a soggy response like earlier, I swung through without any resistance as if I were barebacking, so after I swung through, I gained too much momentum and managed to stop like stepping on a bump.

Sending his gaze to the targeted armor with his inclined body, he saw the top slip slowly down the oblique incision to the border.

That incredible sight was made a reality by the metal sound of Gashan. The top of the broken armor fell.

I didn't even hear much of a surprise.

(The two-handed sword in this hand is a weapon that feels like it's going to be slashed, rather than torn apart... I didn't feel at all comfortable with it. It's like the knife of a bandit's offspring... it's not a level of imagination strength...)

I seem to have stood up for about ten seconds.

I kept activating the Magic Sword until Ulrich told me to stop it.

"You are a genius with all your attributes... certainly not a genius..."

That's what I say. Receive the sword.

"Non had seen a master of swords. But I never saw a magical genius, a real genius... I guess I can use my magical sword so far because I have a magical gift..."

His story says that if a regular swordsman uses a magic sword, he doesn't expect dramatic increases in attack power, to the extent that he expects some additional damage from flames and such. Of course, because the original premise is that the performance as a sword is sufficiently high and that a class called the master will use it, the user often expects more magical effects - such as anti-dead measures or additional damage if the attribute in question is a weakness - than increased attack power.

In other words, until now, a slight increase in offense would have been sufficient, which convinced both the maker and the user.

I heard this story and came up with a hypothesis.

The magic sword is a kind of magic prop that can be used even if there is no magic talent. Anyone can use it because the combination of the Demonic Crystal Stone and the Magic Formation allows the power of the Spirit to be converted into a phenomenon. Originally, the magic formation is like a "circuit” created to efficiently retrieve the power of the Spirit, so if someone with the talent of the subject's attributes uses it, in synergy with the magic formation, can it efficiently capture the power of the Spirit (MP) beyond its normal usage?

I can't get certainty without checking with experts like Professor Raspade, but this hypothesis probably shouldn't be wrong.

(Does that mean Liddy and Sharon can also be a pretty powerful avant-garde if they have a magic sword... no, if it's just offensive power, but avant-garde needs the ability to be a whole offense. You don't have to put it forward...)

We were then to meet about the fine specifications of the sword to be created and headed to the first basement floor.

Upon entering the room, there was a table for the meeting, where there was a sword about to be made.

The sword was a slightly blackish dull silver metal, about the same size as my bastard sword. It doesn't even have a blade on it yet, and it looks like something like a plain body that just fits the shape.

"This guy's gonna be vegan."

I was surprised that I had already started, and I didn't think, "Were you already starting to make it?," he questioned.

Ulrich laughs niggardly and answers my questions.

"I heard from you, and I made it right away. I thought we were in a hurry."

I listened to him yesterday and immediately decided to build my sword, which he seemed to have made during yesterday morning.

"If a messenger from the royal palace hadn't come, it would have taken a little more shape. Well, we'll still see about the balance. I don't think it's too heavy, but if it's heavy, why don't you tell me?"

That's what I'm saying, I'm gonna hand you that plain body.

The sword itself looks thinner than the steel sword it is today, but the weight I felt when I received it was more than I expected.

(Because the specific gravity is different. What, but it's heavier than I thought. Well dude you should get used to it......)

"The weight is fine. Balance, but my style is speed oriented, so think about taking it around..."

We discussed the balance of the sword for a small hour.

"Hmm... I know most of it. Wow. Every day after that, show your face. I'll finish it in exactly ten days."

There are many swords in the workplace and I'm just curious if they won't affect other delivery times, but I won't allow the Ulrich atmosphere to ask that.

I bowed my head, "I'm sorry I'm busy, but do me a favor," and left his workshop behind.

Just leaving the workshop, accompanying guild clerk Jack Harper sighs. When I asked why,

"It's been a long time since the master craftsman struck his sword with adamantite. Trying to get that temper in..."

So after cutting the words and exhaling loudly,

"I feel like a famous sword will be born called Ulrich Drexler's greatest masterpiece! I feel like the best magic sword will ever be made, taking full advantage of Master Zacharias' magic talent! ……

Exactly, just the Blacksmith Guild officials, and they don't seem to be exhausted with the new swords that celebrities strike. He kept his eyes shining and talking slightly excitedly.

Talking about that, going through a narrow alley, I could see the next planned place, Georg Stokke's workshop. His workshop was also a small workshop of about the same size as the one in Ulrich.

The only slight difference is that there is a smell of leather that I didn't feel in Ulrich's workshop. Even when it comes to blacksmiths, when it comes to armorers, I guess I use a lot of leather.

Upon entering Georg's workshop, a dwarf slightly wider than Ulrich's - all the widest, I hope - greeted me.

When he removed the protective equipment he was wearing and gave it to him, he tilted his neck small.

"Hmmm... not bad... you must be a swordsman too. I don't know what to say, but this guy's material isn't a big deal. At the very least, you should use dragon seed stuff."

"No, it is..."

I've been mumbling.

The protective equipment I use now was made in Doctus in college, but just as in Doctus, dragon species materials rarely circulate. They arrive occasionally, but naturally the price soars, so it wasn't the amount I could get my hands on.

By the way, it's the material of the object I'm using now, but I mainly use insect-based ones. He has enough defense because his chest armor, Cuiras, and shoulder (Spaulder) use giant muckade, Giant Centipede, and others use the crust of a soldier ant (Soldier Ant), but does not even compare to the skin of a dragon.

"Hmm. I thought I'd reinforce it, but it's faster to make it. In the meantime, let me take my measurements"

With that said, we are surrounded by Georg and his disciples.

I've never made a custom-made suit or anything, but I'm going to measure the size in there in a way that feels close to it. They lifted their arms and twisted their bodies along the way, but they were measured.

Measurement ends in about thirty minutes.

I get caught up in unfamiliar measurements, but I immediately started listening.

"... that silence and flexibility are important... flying or jumping? Yeah? How does it work? ……

You should actually move it and show it, they'll take you to the backyard. So I'm going to show Baku and other moves.

"I see... this could be an interesting job... come back here tomorrow morning. 'Cause I'll make a draft."

That's all I said, I let my eyes shimmer and started painting on the paper I took out.

You talk to Georg and he won't deal with you, so you ask one of your disciples,

"Normally, no swordsman moves like that. A lot of people want sturdiness here..."

Light warrior type protective equipment doesn't get built much in Ars, he says.

I dealt with two blacksmiths and headed to the Blacksmith Guild headquarters feeling mentally strong fatigue.
