Dream Life

Episode 62: The Queen's Measures

Tria calendar after 3 p.m. on September 24, 2017.

Unlike the usual vibrant atmosphere, the district known as the Blacksmith District, a painting of Ars, the king's capital of the Kaum kingdom, offers disturbing air. The main factor is that the outrage of kingdom nobility in front of Alliance headquarters after noon has caused the Dwarf blacksmiths to kill themselves and the neighborhood residents, as well as the merchants they trade with, in such a way that they are caught by it.

Ulrich Drexler, the blacksmith guild's master craftsman, immediately went to the royal palace to protest after receiving word from me - that I would not sell the Zach collection to Ars, which I said to Count Granger. More than a hundred blacksmiths eventually followed him in a form that was almost more like a punch than a protest.

They headed to the royal palace in that condition, but they're back a while ago. That look is still full of anger and doesn't seem to necessarily convince me to come back.

Being a party, we stayed at Alliance headquarters without going back to the Inn.

The fact that the Earl sent by the King pointed his sword at him was making him do so, but he was beginning to wonder if it was an overreaction himself.

(It was a lot weird...... so was Uncle Edgecomb's attitude, but Count Granger's behavior was unusual. I don't know what the purpose is and who set it up, but if you think calmly, I don't think there's anyone here who can get the benefit of getting rid of me. It's about the Demons who rejoice that the kingdom of Kaum has declined, but I don't think the Demons would use such a messy hand in the first place... because there is a good chance that a ploy has been made to stock me up... if so, it's unlikely that we would have been hurt in that place indefinitely...)

Though I thought so, there was not enough material to make a decision and it was stuffy.

Ulrich came to me back from the royal palace.

"I've been talking to the queen..."

Listening to her while suppressing her anger, she pulled it up by saying that the queen Katrina, who happened to get through, would listen to her and give a convincing explanation by the end of the day.

"... but I'm not convinced. Well, the queen is the only one in the royal palace who understands the story. I thought you might be able to do something about it, but I'm not convinced if the king doesn't bow his head to you!

You're getting angry again, your voice grows louder.

"We're going to have an emergency general meeting. It's time to get it all together. You, too."

I feel the story is gradually getting bigger, but there's nothing wrong with this one, and I decided to just sit back and watch, hoping that the queen Ulrich trusts will do something about it.

Most parent class dwarves had already gathered in the assembly room. This time, there was no alcohol, and there were few staff members.

Unlike at the Zack Collection tasting, everyone's expression is rude. But when he finds me, he cries out brightly, "I'm glad you're okay," or "We'll do something about it," but his expression hardens quickly. I know there are times when you're angry about building a distillery and how you treat me, but if we were to get ourselves out of here with the Blacksmith Guild headquarters, there would still be anxiety about life.

Ulrich declares the general meeting open.

"Today I ask you to discuss the involvement of the knights of the kingdom in Zach and the obstruction to the construction of the distillery. We have to start by explaining the situation. Jack, you've got to watch the whole thing."

Alliance clerk Jack Harper nods loudly.

"Then explain it to everyone from you."

Jack stands on the stage and gratefully explains Count Granger's disregard for my intentions, even more of a civilian flair and curse, and finally, his sword.

There was no particular foot color or exaggeration, which was a pale explanation, but the Dwarves' expressions became even more rugged and their anger rose along the way, so they were interrupted many times.

"... and Master Zacharias, with his sword against Uncle Granger, said to me:“ If the Kingdom of Kaum intends to do harm to me and my people, Zach Collection will not be sold to those who live in this kingdom permanently in the future ”. You have ordered me to tell the master master craftsman that word as a will. That's all I know."

A discouraged look appears on the faces of the Dwarves at the word not to sell the Zach collection. I seem to understand that it wasn't decided and we didn't say we wouldn't sell it to ourselves, but it still seemed shocking that we might not be able to drink long-term aged liquor.

(You did something wrong. I was just going to threaten Uncle Granger, but when you get so discouraged... from now on you have to choose your words properly...)

I raise my hand and ask permission to speak.

"I didn't say I wouldn't sell it to you guys, and I didn't decide. As far as I'm concerned, that's enough if the kingdom doesn't take an unexplained response."

Give my words a soothing breath and an angry look at the same time.

When Ulrich says, "Anyone have something to say," he asks to speak one after the other.

"There's no law that says you have to be in this country. If you want to get out of our way, you should move away."

This opinion accounted for a large number of people, but this opinion also came up.

"For one thing, should we move to the village of Rasmore? Cowm's not that far away there. You get ingredients, and most importantly, you have booze!

To that opinion, he said, "Yes, yes!" and the voice of consent goes up.

"Cut through the woods, there must be as much land as there is. Nong and the others pioneer on their own, but if the Lords were the Lockhart family, the Empire would agree more than complain, and Lax, Periclitle and Aurelia would be close, so they'd agree."

Sure, you're right, but it's not that simple.

Cutting through the woods and building a town wouldn't be so difficult if you were a well-funded blacksmith guild. But I get a headache when I think about international relations.

Lockhart territory is a Cavalier territory of the Caerm Empire, but it is remote and enclaved. For this reason, there is no more interference from the Empire than can be said of a semi-independence state, and on the contrary the Lockhart family has not fulfilled its obligations towards the Empire either.

The intention of the Northern Governor's Office, which has jurisdiction over Lockhart territory, is involved in this. The northern governor, Raswell Borderline Uncle, is sick of the fact that his grandfather, the benefactor of his life, was bewitched, among other things, by the nobles in the territorial capital of Wellburn, and his aversion has drawn him to the village, and he is also exempt from trooping, which is supposed to be the duty of the knight. Assuming that Uncle Borderline has not forced me to leave the army or is under the protection of the Empire, I can also say that it is a situation that Uncle Borderline cannot be forced to do either, as I just need to return the knight's title and become independent.

That's not why I'm talking about the blacksmith guild telling me I can move to Lockhart territory.

The Blacksmith Guild is one of the five guilds alongside each of the guilds of commerce, magicians, adventurers and mercenaries. None of them are captured in the framework of the state, an organization with its own powerful powers.

The Blacksmith Guild has a great influence over the production of weapons in this world, which is home to many dangerous demons. Ulrich and Gaelic notebook blacksmiths are only in Ars, where the Alliance headquarters are located, and almost all Dwarf blacksmiths belong to the Blacksmith Alliance, basically following Alliance policy.

The Dwarves are unusually strong, especially when alcohol is involved. Once an organization with enough power to rock a country has relocated to Lockhart territory, the Lockhart family will be in trouble.

First, the Caerm Empire will move aggressively. Since we can have Alliance headquarters in Imperial territory, naturally we should want to exert some influence over it. That being the case, the current geographic conditions are very awkward, and as an empire we should consider connecting Lockhart territory with our own country.

The country between Lockhart territory and the mainland of the Empire is a coalition of urban states headed by Fortis, a mercenary country, and Aurelia, a commercial city. Fortis is in a country of mercenaries and a basin surrounded by rugged mountains, so the Empire will not attack, but the Union of Urban States has different circumstances.

Although a coalition of fortified urban states along the streets of Aurelia, no city has little inherent force because it is kept safe by mercenaries and adventurers. This is a measure to ease the empire's vigilance through unarmed neutrality and revitalize the Aurelia Street deal, but once the empire strips its fangs "once" the Union of Urban States could disintegrate once and for all. Furthermore, if Aurelia Street were to enter the Reich's dominated area, the deal would likely stall due to customs duties and bribes to corrupt nobles.

In other words, if the information flows that the Blacksmith Guild will relocate to Lockhart territory, Aurelia's commercial guild should come at some kind of hand before the Empire moves. His country is a country that does a few things, no, anything to make money. It is even possible that the Demons would make a violent plot to wipe out the Lockhart family by crossing the Aquila Mountains - the great mountains separating the demonic land of Kwaedam Tenebre from the western countries - and making it look like they invaded the village of Rasmore.

If the Lockhart family has as much power as the Raswell Border Uncle family, it may be possible to counter the Empire and Aurelia because of its remoteness, but for how many minutes, it is a very small organization with only a few squires, it is a difficult situation to counter if the great powers set something up.

Given that, it is very dangerous for the Blacksmith Guild to be relocated to Lockhart territory.

The best scenario I can think of is for the Blacksmith Guild to stay in Ars. Of course, if the Royal Kaum would strip me of my fangs, I might encourage the relocation of my guild as a countermeasure.

The candidate for destination will be Fonce, king's capital of the Kingdom of Lax. If it is Lax, the country is powerful enough to prevent interference by the Empire and Aurelia. However, even though we are in a state of truce with the Empire, the possibility of causing war cannot be denied, since it is in no way a good relationship. At the end of the day, it's best if you stay in Ars.

Such a voice would be raised, but Ulrich said, "Let's not rush to a conclusion," and cut the talk of relocation.

(Good decision. That's the place called Alliance Leader......)

Ulrich went on to say more.

"... Whatever the relocation of the headquarters, it's not how to make it drop. Of course they interrupted the distillery, but I don't like the way Zach tried to get his hands on me! I tried to get my hands on Nong and his people. According to the way you dropped it, you have to figure out how to get out of here."

In Ulrich's words, "Right!" The voice of endorsement rises.

About two hours after the opening of the meeting, once, we go into a break.

I bowed my head to Ulrich,

"I'm sorry. If I'd stood around a little better, this might not have happened."

"It's not your fault," Ulrich said, tapping my shoulder gently, then

"The king or around Shergold planned it. You just got all that."

I was just doing a little research on the domestic situation in the Kaum Kingdom, too.

The relationship between the royal Brentwood family and the three Dukes of Norrish, Swinton and Moncton has been in conflict over the years, but its four families are complex and repeated in their conformance, so they cannot represent conflict with a simple diagram.

Simplifying and sorting out the situation, in a situation where the royal family and the Norish family are in conflict, the royal family is trying to take in the Monctons. The Swintons are the current masters of prudent character and remain neutral by distancing themselves from the two. Moncton family with connections to the royal family, but this is not simple either. The current lord, Ladislas, has only just turned thirty, but I can even hear him talking about being ambitious and willing to take over the royal family.

It is, for one thing, in the presence of demons that we managed to put together as a country in this situation. As the Demons regularly attack Toa, they will not have to cooperate against the national disaster, and they seem to be able to maintain it as a country.

(I guess it hasn't collapsed as a country because external enemies irritate it at a moderate time. Nevertheless, I wonder how the Queen intends to put this thing to rest. Power, against a group of opponents who don't move with money... not that they don't have hands, but I don't think it's a means for the royal family to take...)

When he finishes his break and tries to resume, an officer in a hurry hears Ulrich. I couldn't hear what had been slapped in the ear, but there was a surprise look on his face along with the voice "What..."

He stood up limply,

They've decided on the royal palace policy.

The blacksmiths' expressions add rigour to the words simultaneously.

"Now the queen is coming downstairs. He wants to tell us directly."

He didn't seem to think the Queen would come aboard directly, and those Dwarves can't hide their surprises either.

I myself was surprised that the queen of one country had come from the royal palace, albeit within the king's capital of my own country.

(You're a light footwork guy. Or is it that the sense of crisis is so strong... but what policy has it become? I also feel afraid to ask......)

While I was thinking about it, Ulrich left the assembly room.

A few minutes later, a middle-aged woman came in with Ulrich.

I thought a lady in a brilliant costume was coming in, and I was struck by the impression.

I know it's sartorial, but the clothes I'm wearing are little different from those of the civilians, and I'd rather say the shop general, wearing a slightly darker brown long skirt to a beige-like tunic like the canvas Canvas.

Where the queen comes in, all rise and bow their heads.

Even the Dwarf blacksmiths who are indifferent to their identities seem to pay a proper tribute if they are just the queen of one country.

We stand up the same way and offer our thanks to the royalty.

He wants to talk about the day.

When Ulrich says so, the queen smiles and urges her to take a seat, "Ladies and gentlemen, please take a seat".

The voice is a calming thing that makes me feel motherly, and I feel comfortable with those who listen.

I was honestly impressed.

(That's the queen of a country. That's all you need to calm down before the angry dwarves do. I know it's rude of you to say this, but you look like an eight hundred houses over there or a diner general (aunt). However, there is the Queen's (...) piercing in each and every one of her accomplishments and waist...)

"I deeply apologize for the discomfort my kingdom has caused you. I am particularly truly sorry for Sir Zacharias."

That's how you bow your head at me.

I didn't think I was going to bow my head at this stage, and I panicked and lowered my head back, "Please lift your head" was the best I could do.

The queen smiles and continues to talk to the Dwarves.

"As for this matter, I am in charge of everything. Of course, Your Majesty is aware..."

So I looked around at everyone in the assembly room,

"I would like to share my conclusions directly with you about what should be done to prevent things like this from happening again, and I come…"

What can be communicated and the tension in the assembly room increases at once.

"… my conclusion, no, it is the Kingdom's policy…"

The blacksmiths who are listening breathe in unison.

"… the royal family and kingdom nobility will not interfere in any way with the blacksmith's guild, whatever it may be. This is the country and will remain permanently as an official document."

Everyone here, including me, was confused like they ate a shoulder watermark.

(You just don't interfere...)

While the Dwarves are bewildered, the Queen goes on to say more.

"… of course, we will remain under the refuge of the kingdom, just like the rest of the people. So, like the people, you will be obliged to pay taxes and other duties, and if you sin, you will naturally be punished. However, if you fulfill your obligations, we will not interfere any further. This will not change as long as the Brentwood family, the royal family, survives, and if there is anything to break, I will punish you severely. Naturally, the Royal Brentwood family will be among them."

Isn't that a very convenient story, at first I thought so.

My duty as a resident remains intact and I simply do not interfere, because normally I just don't think there is any point in apology at all.

Ulrich represents the blacksmith, "Is that all?," he questioned.

"I didn't think all the blacksmiths would want anything more?

I nodded unexpectedly at the queen's words.

You're absolutely right.

For the blacksmiths, there is little benefit in getting a convenience from the kingdom. Because there are no competitors (rivals), there is no need for the kingdom to be protected as an industry behind it, and because it has sufficient power economically and politically, there is no need for the kingdom's asylum in the blacksmith guild at all.

"What you all need is an environment where you can work freely? Protecting it is my, no, Kaum Kingdom proposal this time."

The blacksmiths below Ulrich contemplate the Queen's words. I can understand what the queen is saying, but I guess it doesn't fall to her heart somehow.

After about ten seconds of silence, Ulrich looks up.

"If that's all right with Nona, what are you gonna do about putting your sword on Zach?

"Of course I'm thinking about it," the queen nodded.

"Sir Zacharias will be paid a comfort fee."

Disgruntled words leak from the Dwarves into the words.

"You want me to solve it with money?"

The queen said, "We will not imitate such an impeccably," and grinned.

"No title, no territory, no money, and no ordinary compensation for Lord Zacharias, surrounded by so many beautiful princesses, is meaningless."

(Overrated... I certainly don't need a title, but not money... but what are you thinking, this queen?

One of the dwarves calls out, "What would you give me if I were you?"

"Of course," the queen says, cutting her words and smiling with a full face.

"It's alcohol! That's the best wine and apple liquor the Royal Kaum has, too!

For a moment in that unexpected word, the assembly room is governed by silence.

At the next moment, an angelic voice rose from the Dwarves who understood the meaning of the word. But it wasn't anger, it was a lavish laugh.

"That's good! It's not perfect for Zach!

The atmosphere of the venue becomes brighter at once. The harsh atmosphere we had earlier seems to be a lie.

(Wow, this queen. Now you are fully recognized for your earlier policy... Outreach This country may have this person...)

When the laughter subsides, the queen suddenly looks strange.

When I look at it, I say, "I have a favor to ask of you," and I bow my head down.

Where everyone's consciousness has gathered,

"Would you please join me in your company? Of course, I'll bring alcohol! How dare you join your people!

He complained with an incredibly serious look from his spare face until earlier. I guess I'll be the mistress (hostess) myself and entertain the Dwarves.

I had felt the admiration earlier turn into disappointment.

(You do this far for the kingdom? I'd say that's just great, but don't be a little disillusioned......)

You're thinking the same thing as me, the Dwarves' expressions get harder.

One of the blacksmiths raises a slightly grumpy voice, "Why do you want me to join you?"

The queen leans over and down, "... I want to..." she whines with a mosquito crying voice, but her voice is too small to hear. I don't think he's the same person who spoke so eloquently.

"I can't hear you!

The queen raised her face to the voice and hesitated in a twitchy way. But you decided to be ready, you squeezed your expression, and you said, "I want a drink! shouted."

Ulrich said, "What do you want to drink?" When asked, the tone of the Queen's voice drops again.

"The Zack collection..."

That's what I answered, and my voice grows louder in a shitty mood.

"... I really want to drink the Zack collection! The Zack collection that you guys were so enthusiastic about weeping... what does it taste like? What's the scent? I really want to try it!

Everyone, except the queen, kept their mouths wide open and frightened. Of course, so am I.

(Are you telling me to add to the nasty Dwarves' drinking party because the queen of one country wants to drink? It just sounded like it to me...)

In the meantime, the queen's enthusiasm continued to be told.

"The most beautiful vessel of glass in the world, no less beautiful amber alcohol than that...... aromatic enough to weep just sniffing...... and alcohol enough to burn your tongue...... yet soft throat...... how much alcohol is it? Right now, the only people in this world who can taste the Zach collection are the blacksmith guilds, except for the Lockhart family. My Brentwood family has also offered to the Lockhart family, but if I only have enough to sell it to the blacksmiths... even though that guild is right around the corner... am I not allowed to drink it!

At the end he held both hands and stared upwards at the Ulrich's as he pleaded.

I kept staring at the queen with a grudge.

He brings his passion forward and speaks so enthusiastically about alcohol that he can't imagine anything from the queen's outrageous expression just now.

I was beginning to wonder if the sight in front of me was real.

(What is this situation?... and when did you get all this information... rather than that, where did the sober politicians go just now? Or is it an act......)

Though I thought so, I felt it wasn't an act. In fact, I don't think who the Dwarves are acting alone, starting in Ulrich.

(... It can't be an act. If you falsify your feelings about booze in front of the Dwarves, you'll be right off. The Dwarves would instinctively know if they loved alcohol... if this was an act I would fall into human disbelief...)

The look on Ulrich's face turns into something satisfying while I'm thinking about it.

"If you want to drink that much Scotch, no, Zach, you're not one of them anymore! Hey, guys! How about the queen's“ drinking buddies ”?

At that moment, he said, "" Whoa!! "" The anger of acknowledgement dominates the assembly room.

"Then get ready for the banquet right away! Bring the booze!

Everyone stood up in Ulrich's decree.

Jack and his staff had already left the assembly room and ran down the hallway.

We at Rasmore Village were completely left behind.

Mel, Sharon, and Dan, as well as their expressions are falling out of Liddy and Beatrice's face. Scott still doesn't seem to understand what's going on, and he's definitely sending his gaze to me.

(Has this solved this case? I don't think you've heard of Grenger's disposition, but I'm curious you don't care anymore... well, as long as this queen is around, I think she'll be fine... but maybe this is the first time she's ever been so impressed...)

Seeing us like that, the queen grinned and said, "Ugh, even Sir Zacharias gives you that look,"

"You look surprised. But I really want a drink. The rumored Zach collection... I wonder what alcohol it is. I'm really excited..."

I thought at this time.

This man's soul is a dwarf.

That's why Ulrich said he deserved credit.
