Dream Life

Episode 67: Harvest Festival and the Presentation of Martial Arts: Previous

Tria Calendar October 1, 2017 at 7: 00 am.

Slowly the night dawns as the autumn blue sky widens.

Here in Ars, the sun does not show up inside at dawn, as the harsh Kelsas Mountains refrain to the east. Still, blue, clear skies and white clouds claim autumn clarity.

Today is Autumn Day, with the busiest festival of the year, the Harvest Festival.

There are also events in this world on the Winter Solstice on January 1, the Spring Day on April 1 and the Summer Solstice on July 1, but the harvest festivals for young and old are the most popular in any country.

Yesterday night before the festival, I accompanied the Dwarves to a banquet at the General Headquarters of the Blacksmith Guild. No, we continue to hang out in a progressive fashion at the moment.

In the rally room of the Blacksmith Guild, many of the dwarves who were cheerfully noisy are also hypnotized, and as a result, tremendous snoring is echoing throughout the room. But is it something we're all used to? No one wakes up with this much noise. Of course, those who are awake continue to drink without any concern at all.

Of us Zachsextedts, the young women, Mel and Sharon, have dispersed to the Inn relatively early in the day, but the other four continue to hang out with the banquet as they are invited by Ulrich Drexler, the master craftsman, to spare no time to make our weapons while they sleep. Honestly, the all-night drinking party is quite hard physically, but the banquet with them, cheerful, is totally painful mentally.

Ulrich, who keeps jocking in front of me, said he's been up all night for the last few days to finish our sword, but hasn't shown how tired he is. On the contrary, tension was rising from the fact that I could build a satisfactory sword.

Liddy, on my right, leads me to sleep on my shoulder, but Beatrice, on my left, still drinks. She also seems to be rising to the point where she can get a magic spear called the Divine Spear. For once, I have hung the magic of detoxification several times, but I often admire the fact that it has a body.

Rathmore village distillation chief Scott Wishkey was initially surrounded by the Dwarves and had a pleasant drink, but the last one seemed pretty spicy because the Dwarves hiccup for a toast. One of my words I saw, "Deep liquor affects taste," worked, and I'm back in the inn before the date changes. When the Dwarves were told that they would also affect the taste of alcohol, they didn't try to hold it off any longer.

Dan and Lockhart family squire Will Keegan kept turning down booze because of my escort, but Dwarf common sense that "ale or beer is not booze” (?) and by the time the date changed, they had sunk together. Just in case, I'm hanging the magic of detoxification on both of you, so you won't be acutely alcoholic.

And myself, but I'm not so drunk because I drink to the point of dating, but I wake up drunk with the magic of detoxification every time. However, I realized that the most active magic here these days was the magic of drunken awakening, which gave me a slight headache. You can think of it as a peaceful testament to "testimony," but I just graduated from the School of Magic, and I don't feel bad about it either, as an up-and-coming mage who graduated as chief.

By the way, the blacksmiths who made our weapons, but in addition to Ulrich, Oigen Hauser, who made Beatrice's spear, and Johann Vilt, who struck Liddy and Dan's sword, are also at the all-night banquet.

The armorers, starting with Gaelnote Graver, are not attending the eve festival because they were doing their last finish all night last night, trying to make it to today's "unveiling”.

Nevertheless, the Dwarves work all night, but in total, it accounts for about five or six days going on. I think it's something my body often has, but I felt sorry for the young craftsmen in the workshop more than that.

"Young disciples are in trouble, too. I wonder how many days I've been up all night?

Ulrich, with a red face, answered my soliloquy unexpectedly.

"No one thinks it's tough. You can see so much work up close. I don't have time to sleep."

(From the side, it's the black company itself, but you might be right. I don't know how to work like this...)

He was feeling the refreshing wind pouring in through the window as he felt Liddy's body temperature leaning against him.

8: 00 am.

A “big banquet” will be held from noon, so in preparation, the eve festival will be held once (...).

Some of the guild staff were tired of looking all night, but still none of the faces looked spicy because of the festival.

The two heads of distillery construction, Jack Harper and Welburn's guild clerk Johnny Water, continued to hang out with us after sending Scott to the inn. Exactly. Young people in their mid-twenties don't seem to enjoy this much all night. On the contrary, they'll still help you prepare for the banquet after this.

The job of a blacksmith guild employee in this world seems like a job you can't do without your strength. Maybe it's the opposite order, and the Dwarves can work it out, so it comes with nature and strength.

I forgot to tell you, the weapons we completed yesterday have not yet been handed over. They're going to reveal it in a way that looks like a gift ceremony at a banquet after this.

Now that I could sleep for about three hours, I could pull Beatrice off the table who said she still didn't drink enough and wouldn't let go of the glass, so that I could hold half asleep Liddy aside and go back to the inn. Dan and Will, but have already been transported to another room by the hands of the officials, so leave it there.

I went back to the inn, wiped my body, and then took a nap for about two hours.

Alcohol has been removed by the magic of detoxification, and I don't feel like I have any alcohol left, but my body is heavy at dawn all night, especially after a temporary sleep. Young flesh in its mid teens, but may want extra sleep for that matter.

Noon.

We usually meet upstairs in the assembly room, but today it looks like a standing meal format, and the grand banquet takes place in the courtyard of the Alliance's General Headquarters. The courtyard, 50 m wide and about 30 m deep, was overflowing with dwarves already gathered.

The preparations were over, and many tables were served, with booze and food on one after the other. Not only this, but the whole town is a festival, so there are many stalls out here on Blacksmith Street that target the Dwarves, and it feels like enough booze and meals are being secured.

Ulrich and the rest of the Dwarves are, as usual, bickering jocks in their hands, but we were just sleepless and we didn't have the usual energy. Even the booze resistant Beatrice didn't have the usual hegemony in a couple of hours of temporary sleep, and the only ones who were healthy were Mel and Sharon, who hadn't been up all night.

The outdoors mean that the Zach collection is the only one that hasn't been served, but Scotch's barrels were arranged on the warehouse side, and officials kept pouring them into the Dwarves' jocks.

Along with the noon bell, the banquet began at the signal of Ulrich, the master craftsman.

"Here's to God's grace, then!

"" Cheers!!

Three hundred parent classes and their doubling families and disciples hiss. Exactly because the courtyard alone could not get in, both the main entrance and the general gate were open, and people were usually overflowing the main street where large carriages came and went. For this reason, the chanting of ”cheers” propagated as if it were true.

Ulrich and the others shook the jock at once and said, "Ugh!" "The cry spreads. The Great Banquet of the Dwarves began.

Dozens of barrels will be opened, as will beer and ale barrels, and sweet wines will be offered from Queen Kati.

Many musicians play instruments on each side around here, and even bright festive music plays from the royal castle. In addition to that, the occasional sounds of toasts and cheerful singing made the festive mood even more exciting.

About an hour later, Ulrich spoke to Xu "Momouro" to the staff.

"It's time to get ready."

When Jack and his staff snort, they lead us into a room in the main building. Apparently, they're gonna unveil our arsenal.

Georg Stoke and the armorers are headed to that room to lead us. However, the jock remains firmly in the hand.

The room was already lined with protective equipment.

I sigh unexpectedly at the sight. We've seen our own protective gear so far, but we haven't actually seen anything from the other members just talking. For that reason, even veterans Liddy and Beatrice were breathing in the spectacular view lined with their protective gear.

Follow the Dwarves' instructions and wear protective gear.

Mel and Beatrice can't make it to the clasp on the gauge note and don't have the protective gear to show off, but they wear the leather armor they usually use. I didn't think it would fit the purpose of this one, but the blacksmiths' intention to show off the martial arts as they were in shape when they were used seems to make them wear their usual protective gear.

Everyone finished putting on their protective gear. For some reason, Liddy, who saw me, looked satisfied and nodded at Georg, who built the armor. Georg laughs, jocks, and responds.

Moving in front of the door going out into the courtyard, Jack, who walks in the lead, stopped at Xu Momoro.

"Then you will go out to the courtyard in turn. At first, Master Sharon."

Sharon showed confusion in Jack's words and sent a gaze at me asking for help.

"One by one, we're going to show it off."

Apparently, it's an event where the creator explains everything to everyone.

When I nodded feeling okay, I slowly headed into the courtyard with Luc Broich, who created her protective gear, even with an anxious look on my face.

Sharon stands on a two-meter square set in the courtyard, about one and five meters high, and the backpack explains the protective equipment one by one. Sharon was in the gaze of hundreds of Dwarves, leaning down with a bright red face.

"... this material is Serpent the Snake Dragon... I hear Sharon is inferior to the rest of them. Be as light as you can, but don't lose your defense…"

Sharon's armor is slightly black, herd blue, and is made of leather with a unique reptile gloss. The shape is a half armor that covers the upper body and hips. Plus the leg area protective gear - the cuis that protects the thigh and the greaves that protect the tibia - and the van brace that protects the forearm.

"... the thing about these guys' parties is that they have two well-armed healers named Zach and Lydiane. Especially Zach, who said he'd try to cure him if he didn't die instantly. I mean, as long as we protect the steeple, we'll figure it out later. So I wanted to make the head and torso extremely strong and the others as light as possible."

While pounding Sharon's belly,

"Look good. Mithril plates are planted in the torso (here). It also has the magic of the greatest hardening. This part alone should be comparable to black steel armor..."

And receive the helmet, the helmet I was letting Sharon have. It was in the form of an ear-to-neck covering like a broad hat with a twist - a capelin type - and the color was moss green.

"This guy's pretty confident, too. I also make this one out of Mithril..."

With that said, Luc tells Sharon to wear a helmet, and she wears a helmet, as she is told.

"I have a slightly narrower vision, but with the armored collar, I should be able to protect my neck..."

He's right, with a half-armor standing collar and a deep helmet, you can barely see his neck from the side.

The Dwarves listened to that explanation with interest, and when it was over, one question flew after another.

After about five minutes, Ulrich says, "For now, next time," and sends Jack a signal.

Liddy and Dan are called as Sharon descends from the altar with a relieved look on his face.

"Dear Lydiane and Dan, please"

Heading outside with Wood Ravengart, who was in charge of the two guards.

Wood explains as he did when Sharon.

"... the material is Feilong Wyburn. The material is the same, but it suits the purpose… What belongs to Dan, the scout…"

Dan's leather armor is a dark brown half armor, but unlike Sharon's, he also has a rear brace upper arm and a slightly smaller shoulder strap (sparlder). The helmet is made of leather and has a shape close to the Prussian Pickelhaube type - a helmet with a spiked ornament on the top of the head - with wide open ear sections in a shape that fits the head. It should be noted that unlike Pickelhaube, there are no decorations on the top of the head.

"The scouts told me to ensure my vision and make it easier for me to pick up the sound. This form was suggested by Dan…"

The Dwarves exclaim "enough". Until now, helmets are primarily concerned with protecting the head, so few ideas have been devised to do so. Dan shook his head beside him in embarrassment, distant and inaudible, but said, "I didn't think about it. It's Master Zach's idea..."

In fact, as I suggested, the details are decided by Dan in a meeting with Wood.

Wood doesn't mind that and will continue to explain further.

"There's something about Lydiane, the archer, and Dan, the scoundrel, that's changing things a little bit. Lydiane's …"

Liddy is in the gaze of a large crowd of dwarves, looking slightly nervous, but still moving to see the details of the armor as they say. I thought I'd hate it because it exposes me to the gaze of many men, but I know it's the armor that's getting my attention, so I hardly seem to be disgusted. The expression is stiff but doesn't feel bad at all.

The material of the two armors is exactly the same, but Liddy's has the idea of increasing the strength of the left side, that is, the side that goes forward when shooting the bow, and on the other hand, the right side increases the mobility, making it easier to shoot the bow, and even more defensive. There are other things Dan seems to be more different than he looks, such as having a larger gap between parts, being made not to inhibit free movement, and Liddy's being reinforced with a plate of misrills inside, just like Sharon's stuff.

"... both keep the noise mostly coming out. Dan, raise your arms."

When Dan raises both arms as he is told, the armor connection opens and the ingenuity is revealed.

"Look at the gap in the armor. I use the wingspan of a flying dragon. Don't let this guy make a sound..."

Because it is hard leather, when the two parts come into contact, there is a sound called cone. Cushioning the soft pterygoid makes it sound free. Of course, it's Feilong leather, so you can expect defense.

At the end of the description of the armor, Johann Vilt with a two-wielded sword takes the stage.

"As you can see, they're both Longswords. Lydiane's belongs to the wind, Dan's belongs to the fire. I make them all out of misrills."

That's what I say. I give the sword to both of you.

Length is about 1m. With a slightly skinny one-handed sword, the pattern Pommel is embedded with Demonic Crystal Stone.

"Dan, can you pull the sword out of you first?"

Dan pulled out his sword, as he was told, and put it up in the sky.

When Blade, a sword polished like a mirror, appears, it shines white in the light of day. The Dwarves said to that sight, "" Oh! "" The sigh of exclamation rises.

Johan stretched his chest,

"Non's self-confidence. Dan, let me haunt the magic."

Dan nods small, putting magic into his sword.

An orange flame instantly appears around the sword body. Was it pretty hot? There was a flame standing around the sword. "That's about it," Johann said, instructing Dan to put out the flame.

"As you can see, this one focuses on offense. The demon opponent has enough intimidating effects."

And call Liddy and make him demonstrate to wrap magic around the sword in the same way.

I feel the air shaking around my sword body, but I don't see any flashy effects like fire or light attributes.

"It's hard to tell, but the wind attribute is increasing the sharpness. Besides, it's barely visible, but it's about 30 cm long. This one's for the surprise effect."

Liddy is a rear guard demon archer and has few chances to fight with his sword. But the situation she would have to fight with a sword would be quite imminent, so it seems she put it primarily in buying time or timing her retreat by ambush over aggression. If you're after an ambush effect, I feel like you should keep it a secret, but the enemy doesn't know it clearly at the moment, and in fact, even if you know that a wind attribute is granted, it won't have practical effects because mistakes are hard to take with an invisible blade.

Johan nodded satisfactorily, answering the Dwarves' questions.
