Dream Life

Episode 73: Enforcement of Distilled Liquor Law

Tria history November 13, 2018.

I, Otto Elwes, with Her Royal Highness Queen Katrina and the Dwarf blacksmiths, have returned safely to Ars.

I went back to my home and thought back about the last half month, but I was stunned that it was something I lived a lot.

I haven't slept well since the night of October 24th, when Her Royal Highness ordered me to. Outbound journeys, as well as the return journey to Ars, were also due to the blacksmiths' running to arrange liquor and accommodation.

That's finally over, too.

If you take over to the Blacksmith Guild officials, you will be freed from hell of arranging liquor.

But we don't have time to slow down. Because we should be accumulating our original work, and we must proceed with the enforcement of the law on distilled liquor, which is our top priority.

The next day, I served in the royal palace with a body that still left me tired, traveling from my colleagues (?) Take over. There were no concerns because my colleagues were filling my missing hole, and the takeover ended in the morning. At that time, however, he was told stories of concern during the takeover.

"While Her Highness was away, Lord Shergold was moving something. They used to show their faces frequently to the Three Dukes. You are Her Royal Highness's favorite. Be careful."

I knew immediately what the Marquis was going to do with those words. The Marquis must have made a leap to exclude Her Royal Highness.

My colleague put words of encouragement on me to mistake it for anxiety because I looked suspicious.

"Well, if I give you a little, the guild won't shut up. Dwarf says," I'll never forget the booze. "

That's all I said, my colleague walked away laughing.

It is true that the master craftsman has also hung his words of gratitude, and he has been allowed to be cordial with the eminent blacksmiths. But I'm not optimistic.

I don't think that only the Marquis at the tip of his mouth will confront Her Highness directly by cutting him in the front. Because you're supposed to try to cut it off from around you. If that happens, my primary target will be me.

That means you're more likely to come after me as a low-profile.

What is possible is the fabrication of the scandal Scandal. It is possible that His Royal Highness the Queen and I will take issue with the fact that we have been acting alone for a long period of time and will poke at that point.

It can't be a scandal because the truth was that the blacksmiths almost acted differently in arranging the liquor. But His Highness doesn't even have a samurai, and it's hard to prove it if you force me to take out my testimony.

It is fully conceivable that they will use their odious hands, such as by threatening to cause harm to their families or by fabricating and threatening evidence of the use of public money. It could even be decided that a more direct hand, a letter leading to a scandal with His Highness after killing me, came out.

With that in mind, one knight appeared before me. The knight is beautiful and sturdy in his mid-thirties and looks good in a silver-based uniform.

Soon I realize it's the Kingsguard of the kingdom, the Knights of St. Silver uniform, but even more the Knights Chest badge caught my eye and I was relieved for a moment.

"I am Richard Rosingrave of the Knights of Holy Silver"

The chief knight was the head of Her Royal Highness's home, Viscount Rosingrave's house.

I get up in a hurry and apologize for my disrespect.

"Also, I'm sorry. What can I do for you in such a place?

"By order of Her Royal Highness, I am to escort your lord."

To that word I lost the word to return.

The Elwes family is a cavalier class, and even more so, I am only my second son myself. I can't even think about having the Viscount take the lead and escort him to the heavy town of the state called the Knight Chief.

I was going to say no and I tried to say, "It's like annoying your hands..." But Viscount Rosingrave was blocked from my words with a serious face.

"Your Majesty's safety leads to Her Highness's safety. And this leads to my Rosingrave family, Antai."

Sure, you're right, but I get in trouble for answers. Seeing me, the Viscount was suddenly broken apart.

"Hahaha! This is my sister's only favor. A lot has happened since I was a kid. It's horrible and impossible for me to refuse my sister's favor. Hahaha! Wouldn't your lord understand what I'm saying?

Confused about how to answer more cheerful personalities than I thought.

"Sure, I can't go against His Highness's word or anything..."

When I managed to say so, I said, "It will be! It would be!" and he slapped me on the shoulder laughing joyfully.

"Does your lord know he's in danger? And you know what I mean when I escort you."

I understand what the Viscount has to say.

The Knights of the Holy Silver are the only force within the Royal Palace, under the direct command of His Majesty the King, with legitimate force. And its chief knight is not ordained by any other than the chief knight, that is, His Majesty the King.

In this case, Her Royal Highness has ordered it, but officially it will be an order from His Majesty the King. In other words, His Majesty the King is declaring himself to protect me.

Marquis Shergold is wielding his power as a proximity to His Majesty. On the contrary, it means that nothing can be done against His Majesty's will.

Of course, other knights can turn their hands from behind, but the Rosingrave family is the home of Her Royal Highness and naturally cannot turn their hands.

"My sister should have Black Steel Knights sending troops to your parents' house, too. Of course, the knights you can trust."

I cannot help but marvel at Her Royal Highness's hand-wrestling. But I guess that doing this far is going to eliminate the Shergold Marquis altogether.

Think of it that way and something cold flows down your spine. And in the near future, perhaps before crossing the moon, I intuited that the Marquis would lose his power.

That evening, a tongue battle between Her Royal Highness the Queen and the Shergold Marquis appeared in front of Her Majesty. Officially, our civilian has not been informed of the details, but a friend's clerk told me it was one-sided. Of course, Your Highness's victory.

It seems that Lord Shergold was provoked by Her Royal Highness and disputed His Royal Highness's arbitrariness.

The clerk told me funny and crazy about what was going on then.

"First of all, His Highness said this to the Shergold Marquis.“ Isn't the Shergold Marquis underestimated his relationship with the Blacksmith Guild? I heard you're delaying the enforcement of the law on the quality of distilled liquor. Can't you understand how stupid that is? ". That was so hard to imagine from your usual Highness."

That appeared to me.

"I argued that the Marquis was a good idea, but it was a disjunction. Maybe you didn't assume it."

There is no way that the prized Shergold Marquis can end with just excuses, and His Highness can't be doing anything halfway.

"It wasn't just an excuse, was it?

When I asked him that, the clerk nodded and gave me more details.

"Oh, the Marquis tried to fight back against His Highness. But that was terrible.“ Her Royal Highness was fuelled by the runoff of the Dwarves. Even though the Lockhart family had already won, the Dwarves were sent out of the country. If Dwarves were to sit in the village of Rasmore! "

Though I had imagined it, I had a headache at the Marquis' stupidity.

Indeed, the Dwarves often run wild as far as booze and the Lockhart family are concerned. In fact, in the Rockhart family heretical certification case of Phototheism, they are forcing Dwarf blacksmiths to be pulled up from Luke's, and even the head of Luke's supreme power, the archbishop of Phototheism, has been inserted and replaced.

But they are very disciplined and rarely do things that are not reasonable. It is based on their own logic, or benevolence, even if very rarely it may seem inappropriate. So it is impossible for the Dwarves to go out on their own and do no harm to this country, even though the Kingdom of Kaum has nothing to do with it.

It's easy to understand if you talk to Dwarf.

Think about that, but the clerk's story was still going on.

"... Your Highness was clear on that.“ I, Me, fully understand them. That time, pulling them back was counterproductive. In fact, didn't you all come back ”. The Marquis was a hypothetical story, but His Highness is based on the facts. Everyone who was there, including His Majesty, snorted at His Highness's words. After all, I thought Your Highness would have the heart of the Dwarf... the Marquis has said a lot since then, but only one Marquis made His Majesty snort."

"Your Majesty got nodded by the Marquis story?

The clerk laughed niggardly as he had won.

"Yes. Just one. It's“ His Royal Highness wants to drink what Zach collects, but didn't he burn the Dwarves for it? Was it really an act of thinking about the kingdom? "

I almost snorted at the story, too. In fact, if I hadn't listened to His Royal Highness's heart in the village of Rasmore, if I hadn't heard you talk about your fear of that Sharon Jakes, even I, the party, would have nodded.

"That's disrespectful to Your Highness. His Royal Highness has a deep idea. Ahead, this Kaum kingdom was struck with fabric stones to thrive..."

I explained my reasons to the clerk. Of course, I'm not talking about being afraid of Miss Jakes. However, we will talk about how, with the utmost cooperation in the Blacksmith Guild, we have developed further friendship with the Guild, and that by impressing upon the nations of the world our friendship with the Lockhart family, we have made it known that our country is a rock with the Blacksmith Guild.

"I see. You're absolutely right. Your Highness."

That's what the clerk said and impressed me. Perhaps after this, since he spreads the story in many places, we will all understand what His Highness has thought of this.

Then for about ten days, a storm broke out in the royal palace.

Marquis Shergold resented the controversy and pummeled dissatisfaction within the royal palace. I hope that's all, but rumors broke out that he had entered the head of the Three Dukes' house, Lord Norrish, and was even aiming to take it.

So much so that within the Royal Palace, fears of civil unrest and the appearance of court officials talking secretly became apparent.

And there was an incident on November 18th.

The incident itself was not a big deal, but that one soldier behaved defiantly towards his boss and was disposed of.

But the soldier was the problem. Last year, he was the former Earl of Oswald Granger, who put his sword to Sir Zacharias.

He was demoted from the General of the Knights of Black Steel to a soldier of the Knights of St. Silver and was in charge of security within the Royal Palace. I've seen it several times too, but I remember it was a transverse attitude without the color of reflection.

The man pointed his sword at a knight.

The knight, named Plowman, was a subordinate of Granger, then commander during the fall of Fort Toa eleven years ago. Plowman's troops were devastated as Granger abandoned his men and fled. At that time, he was losing many of his relatives and his painful squire, and he was watching for opportunities for revenge. But ten years passed without the art of making it before the power of the Duke of Norrish family comparable to the royal family.

The attempted injury of Sir Zacharias last year stripped him of the title of Granger and demoted him to a soldier, which entangled him in Granger every time. And finally, he succeeded in dramatically elevating the Granger.

The slaughter on Plowman led to the capture and immediate execution of Granger. And Lord Theodore Norrish, the head of the Duke of Norrish family and the real father of Granger, has also taken that responsibility and ceded the governor to his eldest son.

There was a back to this story.

Strangely enough, Plowman was suddenly promoted to the Knights of the Holy Silver Knights four days ago.

The Knights of the Holy Silver are a Kingsguard who defends His Majesty the King, and in order to join the Knights they need more than a baron's stature. But Plowman is only one knight after fifty years of age, and there is no rear shield for the more powerful senior nobles. Such was his assignment to the Knights of St. Silver, an elite group, who accidentally (...) became the boss of Granger.

Plowman provoked his subordinate, Granger, and the foolish Granger erupted in just four days.

In Ars, it is rumored that Her Royal Highness put pressure on the Knights of the Holy Silver to fall on the Duke of Theodore Norrish, who is planning to take it.

With Lord Norrish's hiding, the Shergold Marquis lost the power to eliminate Her Royal Highness in the royal palace.

And the Three Dukes, of course, all those who were lords of the court, feared that His Highness meant it. Even the Duke, second only to the royal family, was lightly excluded. If you join Lord Shergold, you will follow the same fate as Lord Norrish.

Having lost the means to help someone, the Marquis tried to persuade His Majesty with his own tongue. However, His Majesty became oblivious to the loud Marquis and was unable to even attend meetings between His Majesty and the Three Dukes from November 25th.

Lord Shergold lost his position as a sidekick.

Because of this, the affairs of the kingdom were to proceed at once. No longer needed was the ruling of the Shergold Marquis, who had spoken once and for all of the details, which resulted in the extension of the ruling authority of the heads of each department, and the stagnant national government began to move once and for all.

My biggest concern, the law on the quality of distilled liquor, was also able to get His Majesty's ruling immediately. Further, upon a strong request from Her Royal Highness, it was decided to take effect on 1 December.

Just five days from the ruling to enforcement. In the meantime, documents will be made for promulgation and rooted everywhere. As a result, I was to stay up all night again, but this time it was very easy for me to feel.

There is no more demanding job for me than arranging liquor for the Dwarf blacksmiths. That was a really nightmarish job.

Competition between unimaginable consumption of blacksmiths and arrangements for alcohol. Never before had the carriage felt so slow to travel.

If the strong pressure "pressure" to run out of liquor had always accompanied him and had not had Sir Zacharias hang his healing magic, he would have really broken his body.

With that in mind, there is no such thing as fighting the paperwork and rooting it.

And I did it.

On December 1st, it promulgated the world's first law on the quality of alcohol, which came into force immediately.

The name of the law is "Act on the Quality of Distilled and Long Aged Liquors".

We pride ourselves on the fact that laws as strict as this are unparalleled in the world. Of course, it is not my only feat, because it is made in line with Sir Zacharias' draft, but you can still be proud to have made it to the distillery building, which begins around next spring.

G.E. Merchant, who wrote a famous book on alcohol, describes the world's first distilled liquor law in his book "The Great Tria Whisky".

The Act on the Quality of Distilled and Long Aged Liquors, promulgated in the Kingdom of Kaum on December 1, 2018 and in force today, dramatically improved the quality of alcohol. Before the entry into force of this law there was no law on alcohol or foodstuffs and only the tax arrangements were to such an extent that it could be said that the relevant laws and regulations...... (omitted)...... I was strongly shocked when I first learned of the existence of this law. So much for the attitude of pursuing only the quality of the liquor that I was awed of a nation called the Kingdom of Kaum. And this law was so clear that there was not a minute gap... '

As Merchant noted, at the time the legal development was underdeveloped, no legislation existed on the quality of the product. Moreover, the text was so clear that it could not pinch any doubt, completely eliminating the ambiguity of “interpretation of the law” by officials.

'... and I remember being even more surprised by the fact that this law was proposed by a certain boy. The boy, Sir Zacharias Lockhart, was so called “the son of the god of alcohol" by the Dwarves of his Ka, but so much so that he passed in awe of his obsession with alcohol that he remembered the wars and trembled...'

And at the end of that section it reads as follows:

'… now we have relatively easy access to high quality distilled liquor. This is the result of the efforts of the craftsmen, but if this law had not come into force, there would not have been so many varieties and quality distilled liquors. I am trying to tip the glass while expressing my gratitude to Sir Zacharias, who made the draft of this law, to Queen Katrina, who showed an extraordinary enthusiasm for its enforcement and relentlessly buried the political enemies who disturb it, and to Sir Otto Elwes, who fully understood the spirit of this law and ensured its implementation…'
