Dream Life

Lesson 9: Rescue

January 13th.

The day after I partitioned dinner at Viscount Furfree's, I left the Viscount's Hall after finishing my morning workout.

The next big city is El Dredd, where the Eastern Governor's Office is located, but it is still a hundred and fifty kilometers away and today's destination is scheduled to be a town called Burnhead, about forty kilometers away.

Barnhead was Baron Barnes' capital, and he could not pass it by ceremony, but was to stretch his legs a little further than usual.

When I say stretch your legs, there is nothing wrong with the distance of forty kilometers due only to the gentle downhill going on until Burnhead and the low strain on horses.

Incidentally, there are many villages along the streets in the eastern realm of the Empire, so even if you get into trouble, it's not going to be like wild boarding, so there's an aspect that if you can't do it somewhat, it's possible.

Even in the middle of winter, unlike the Kaum Kingdom, I feel little cold like cutting myself off. It's sunny enough in the morning, and it's cheerful enough to say spring around Rasmore village.

Today it's my mother's turn and my youngest sister Sophia, and it's Luna's turn to ride the Rockhart family carriage she rides, sitting in a seat alongside Luna.

When I open a window made of glass substitute demonic props, the slightly sweet floral scent and the sprouty blue scent of young grass flow with the slightly cold wind.

Luna on board with me also had no heart. The expression was bright and seen in the unfamiliar landscape.

"It's nice to be warm around here. From what I've heard from Viscount Furfley, it doesn't look so hot in the summer, and most importantly, it's peaceful. I'd love to live here."

That's what my mother says and laughs at.

"This neighborhood is a good place to be" idyllic, "but I heard there are a lot of demons off the street. Well, it doesn't seem as good as at the foot of Aquila."

I heard yesterday that lords regularly exterminate demons along major streets, but elsewhere, they make requests to the Adventurer Guild several times a year to mistake demons.

Luna looks back at my story. He seems frightened when he hears it's a demon.

"Master Ignacious said he hunted a lot of demons along the streets for a row of angels, so it's okay. Don't worry."

When she said that and stroked her head, Luna nodded cocklessly and turned her gaze out the window again.

(You seem to be listening to this conversation, so maybe you want to join the conversation. I haven't communicated in a long time, so maybe I don't know what to do...)

Around noon, he arrived at the village of Dammelor, an accommodation at the midpoint.

The village is built on a small high hill, surrounded by stone walls about three metres high. The village itself is about two hundred meters in diameter, but the farmland extends outside the walls and a simple fence surrounds it.

They say this place was built as a relay for the Imperial Army and the sturdy stone walls are from that time. Such villages dot within the empire at intervals of ten to twenty kilometres. This seems to be a remnant of the imperial expansion period.

As we were having lunch in an inn and dining room in the heart of the village, a fast horse ran through the village. Then another early horse runs and conveys a rushed atmosphere.

"I wonder what it is," my father tells Viscount Radford.

"Maybe something happened in the street. Osborne, there must have been a deputy office. Let me turn to someone to find out what's going on."

The Viscount ordered Osborne Towerdin, the captain of the escort, to gather information.

When Towerdin rises up saying, "I will listen directly," his brother Rod follows.

They came back in about twenty minutes, but the look on their faces was stiff and they had some trouble.

Towerdin began the explanation on behalf of the

"They say there's a massive herd of demons out there."

"Along the street?" When the Viscount hears, "Towerdin shakes his head," No.

"They say it's a village about 10 km south of here. He said that the goblins were over 200 and suddenly showed up about an hour ago, so a squire who was heading to the village in a separate incident stumbled upon them and rushed back to report them."

"What about the rescue to that village? I don't think I have the strength here," my father asks.

"Yeah, it's Viscount Furfree territory here too, but they only have one knight and fifteen squire. They ran early horses to the city of Furfree, but probably won't make it."

The village attacked is called the village of Tilly Bell, a small village with a population of about 200.

The deputy says it has a wooden protective wall, which can be adequately prevented by a regular goblin flock, about thirty in number.

However, there were only about fifty adult boys, and since they were not even more trained like the village of Rasmore, it was said that more than two hundred goblins would not last half a day with their opponents.

"I need a favor from your father," my brother says, poking one knee.

"Let us escort the Lockhart family to the rescue of the village of Tilly Bell. With Zach and the others, we should be able to fight enough. I will take command. Please."

The righteous brother cannot abandon the village and complains that he wants to head to the rescue. My father nodded heavily at the words and asked Viscount Radford for permission.

"We, the Lockhart family, would like to head to Tilly Bell. The madness of my plans annoys Lord Ignacious, but I need your permission."

The Lockhart family had no obligation to save other villages, but neither could my father have seen innocent people killed.

"You don't need my permission, Lord Masaias. I don't even care about my plans."

Answer with a smile, but immediately change your expression to something serious.

"However, you should avoid being actively involved. The wind could be stronger for you."

The Viscount's concerns are understandable.

There are concerns in three respects that the Lockhart family is headed for a crusade even though there is no request in Viscount Furfree territory.

The first is that the unauthorized conduct of combat by a nobleman in another territory could be viewed as an act of aggression.

Though bracketed in the great framework of empires, feudal aristocracy is no exaggeration when it comes to independent nations. It is a common story that neighboring nobles compete over territorial boundaries, and no combat action other than self-defence can be carried out without the permission of a senior nobleman who normally heads a strip or his superior, the emperor.

There is no stake in the Viscounts of Furfree and Lockhart about this, and this time it is unlikely that it will be a problem because of the demonic opponent, but it can be used as a pretext for harassment if you want to use it.

The second is that it will ketch on the ability of the Viscount Furfree family to govern. Despite the emergency, it also appears to point out that another knight on a trip to crusade the demons is neglecting the Lord's duty of keeping the Viscounts safe in their own territories.

It's hard to think of a complaint coming from Viscount Furfree about this, but I can use this if I want to use it to make a bad review as well.

The third thing is that it looks like a blatant act of selling. The Lockhart family is not the escort of Viscount Radford, an angel, but acts together with an angel, acting on behalf of the emperor. In other words, it is not surprising that it is taken as a selling act to buy and leave demonic exorcisms that are not necessary in very prominent conditions.

Even if we do not intend to do so, it may be taken as an act without goods to carry out the act of raising a name on the way to the Imperial City.

My father won't mind either because I feel more about this now.

The Viscount pointed out these things, but my father shook his head "wearing it".

"To that extent, I choose to save the villagers"

That's all I say, I bow my head to the Viscount, and then I give directions.

"Enemies are numerous. All those who can fight head to the rescue. Tanya, Sofia, Luna, please wait at the deputy office. I apologize to Lord Ignacious, but I will surely chase him."

"No, let's stay here, too. We will protect your wife and son."

My father bows his head again, saying, "I don't want to".

I was feeling a little anxiety as I listened to my father's orders.

That's what this was set up for, isn't it a trap to keep Luna away from us?

As I prepared, I tried to address that concern to Zachsextedt's face, but there were many opinions that it was over-thinking.

"It's a coincidence. In my experience, it is common for goblin herds to suddenly grow. Especially this time after a massive demonic exorcism. The herd that escaped must have snagged and attacked the village because the bait was gone"

Sharon is also nodding at Beatrice's words.

"It's easy to get Goblin to attack the village, but I think it's hard to get the timing right. If it's an hour late, we should have passed unaware, and if it's too soon, we just need to watch the Viscounts lead the Knights."

Liddy and the others agree.

(You sure think too much. You can be alert for once, but maybe it's not a good idea to overreact...)

This time Luna stays in a village with a fence built by the Imperial Army, albeit a small lodging. From acting together with Viscount Radford, who is also an angel, there is no way to distract or brainwash some nobleman.

I'm not completely free of anxiety, but I wouldn't regret accompanying my father on reasonable terms. If you are frightened by an invisible enemy and do not accompany your father, and someone loses their life, you will definitely regret it.

After about enough time to prepare, came the Knight and his squire, deputies.

"My name is Canning and I'm your deputy. I apologize for the inconvenience and sweat on your face..."

Canning is an officer who feels like he's about fifty years old and has spoken long before Viscount Radford.

When the Viscount blocks the conversation by saying, "Lord Canning, time will be precious," the Father begins to speak on its behalf.

"I am Masaias Lockhart, the Imperial Knight, this time I hear that the Imperial subjects are being attacked by demons, and I want to offer to rescue the village of Tilly Bell with a slight force. Can I borrow Lord Canning's men for directions?"

Canning was surprised by the offer of rescue, but hesitated because of the number of women and children in the Rockhart family's fighting power. He seems to be thinking of preserving himself that if anything happens to a nobleman who refrains from seeing the emperor, it will be a liability issue.

I don't even know Canning steps on two legs. But I don't.

Luke Wilby, newly recruited by his father Masaias and his squire, is the thirties, but his brother Rodrick, Sim Marron, is twenty years old, and his squire also has many early twenties.

Plus we're Zach Sextet, but whatever the veteran Beatrice is, we're a mid teenager. Liddy doesn't look like he's going to be a force for war, and in addition to his three sister-in-law Rosalie young women, Theophilus and Serafina are only eleven.

Of the twenty-four, only about ten seemed likely to be able to fight, and I guess I didn't think I could beat more than two hundred goblins.

By the way, not a single Viscount Radford escort participates. This is because they cannot leave the Viscount because their task is to escort an angel, acting on behalf of the Emperor.

In response to the unsweetened canning, my father admitted (did) one thing while saying, "The Lockhart family is responsible for all of this," and persuaded Canning by asking Viscount Radford to be a witness.

The five servants of the Viscount Furfree family will lead the way.

"Ten kilometers to Tilly Bell Village! The horses will be burdened, but we'll run through them all at once! All aboard!

Ride simultaneously by Father's decree. And he drives his horse ahead of a late thirties squire named Orlando of the Furfree family.

From Dummeller to the destination village of Tilly Bell is a gentle hilly area with few deep forests. Nor were the roads major streets, but they were well maintained and nothing was an obstacle to mobility.

Without an hour, the leading Orlando raises his hand and instructs him to stop.

It's between the two hills, and they have a destination ahead of them.

"It's about five hundred meters from here. As soon as you cross the hill, you'll see the village of Tilly Bell."

He wanted to make a final confirmation because if we continue, the enemy will find us.

"Climb to the top of the hill and check the situation," my father said, ordering me to leave again.

The hill is small about thirty meters high and the climb ends immediately.

Down the horse, looking at the village of Tilly Bell, the village was made in a flat land between the hills, where it was possible to see the full extent.

The distance to the village is about two hundred meters. Around it are walls made of trees and stones about three metres high, but there are hundreds of goblins flocked, the gates, the entrance and exit of the village, have been destroyed and about ten villagers have desperately prevented the entry of goblins.

The information meant more than two hundred, but it looks like there are more than five hundred of them.

It was just a critical situation.

"Rod and Sims go on with me! Zach, you're in command!" My father screams, jumping on a famous horse from Caerm, clapping and running down the hill. His father follows his brother and Sims.

Without a moment's respite, my father seems to be going to stir up with a trio of horseback riding.

"I'm coming too!," said Rosalie, riding a frog horse as well.

Instructions will be given to all as they drop off the four horseback rides.

"We're on our way to rescue! Everybody down right in front of the village!" I run my horse, screaming. And give instructions out loud so you can't beat the sound of a horseshoe from above the horse.

"Beatrice leads Ricky and the magicians to secure the gate! Mel leads the Lukes and the Swordsmiths into the mainstay of the enemy! Dan leads the markings, the archers, after the goblins that are attached to the wall! Liddy and Sharon will magically stir up with me! The Furfree family asks to secure the horse!

We arrive about fifty meters to the village while that's all we scream.

"Everybody off! The enemy is a bit of a goblin, but don't be alarmed!," he commands, turning his face to Liddy and Sharon.

"Liddy had a meteor rain (meatier shower) and Sharon was with me in the fiery dragon roar (dragon roar). Aim for as many enemies as you can!

And I immediately cast a spell.
