Dream Life

Lesson 28: Making Dessert

afternoon of January 28th.

After conducting an inspection of the basement of Seawell Castle, it was to be rolled out to the city.

We, Zachsextedt, our brothers and Luna, are accompanied by two other Duke of Ezarrington courtiers.

The only escorts are two knights from the Knights of Ezarrington and two knights from the Knights of Seawell. Sometimes in a safe city, Laurencia said no to the Marquis Clement Seawell because we were far more armed than escorts.

"I hear this city is safe. Besides, if Sir Zacharias is here, please be sure to protect us. You can't reduce the number of escorts to see the city slowly."

In contrast, Lord Seawell said, "That's true," and only one Knight and one Liaison Officer of the Conductor were to accompany him. By the way, the knights of the Knights of Ezarrington have been nominated as luggage holders and have not even been accompanied by a samurai.

Before 3pm, so I plan to take a stroll for about an hour before heading back to the castle.

Seawell Castle is in the northwest of the city of Seawell and the commercial district is in the southwest.

That said, it is a small city on one kilometre's length and can travel in about fifteen minutes one way, even considering the legs of the Laurentians. Initially a carriage was to be prepared, but this was also turned down by Laurencia.

"It's a corner, so why don't you walk away? I, Me, could walk this far."

Laurencia seems to understand the purpose of this one and is trying to show citizens and travellers where we can be together.

The city is one of the main streets of the southern realm of the Empire, on Langton Avenue, which connects the western side of the Wale Peninsula, where the Empire is located, to the eastern side, where agriculture thrives. As a result, there are many merchants on their way to the Imperial City, arguably the perfect place to spread the rumor. It is also time for the merchants to arrive in time, and there should be many merchants in the commercial district.

(That's Lord Etherlington's daughter. I understand the purpose of this one properly......)

When I was heartily impressed, Laurencia took my left arm and said, "Well, let's come" and started walking. Another warrant lady, Primrose, tried to take the opposite arm.

Say, "No, Rose," Laurencia stops.

"Why not?," said Primrose dissatisfied,

"Sir Zacharias is also an escort. You have to be free to move your escort."

To its most plausible explanation, Primrose lowers back with an unsatisfactory look on her face.

"Let's come, then," he ordered Eagle Fling, "I'll ask for guidance," to Isaac Ravers, the Knights of Seawell's guide.

Ravers is a young knight around the age of twenty, but because of a lot of acne, he feels like an unspoilt rural young man. He is chosen as a guide because he is from the lower town of this city.

When I talk to him, he seems casual and bright in character, but he's nervous about being a guide to the Duke's warrant, and his face is tense.

"So, come here," he said, leading the way and beginning to walk.

On the south side of Seawell Castle was a 100-metre square of cobblestone square, with several dewstores spreading their merchandise.

Head south as you peek into the outhouse. Approaching the boulevard that penetrates east and west, the restaurant gradually grows, flowing with fragrant aromas of roasting meat and aromatic aromas of stewed dishes.

"There are many restaurants around here. Seawell has long been known as the" City of Wine "..."

Ravers puts in an explanation at a good time.

The city of Seawell is known as the "City of Wine” and “City of Gastronomy”, making it one of the pleasures of travelers on Langton Avenue. Especially on Boulevard, there are famous stores like the one that also branches out in Teito, and they have many of Viscount Radford's destination stores.

"... especially at this time of new liquor and during the autumn harvest, people are so overflowing that you have to put a table out on the road. Fortunately, boulevards are widely built, so they are not an obstacle to passage…"

Since the boulevard is also a road for military use, it is more than ten metres wide. For this reason, he serves tables and chairs on the road like an open cafe, serving drinks and meals.

"Sounds delicious. I just want to hook up a cup......" Beatrice mutters.

"No, you can't. I have to finish shopping and go back to the castle," he says, stabbing the nail.

But "I'm interested, too," he said, riding all the way to Laurencia.

I don't have an entourage, so I guess you want to stretch your wings.

"Let's plan after tomorrow. Because it would be better if Ignacious told us about the good store."

"Right," I convinced him.

With that conversation, we enter the commercial district.

Merchants who had already arrived rushed their luggage into stores and warehouses, and many mercenaries who had finished escorting were seen smiling and heading to the inn.

"There are a lot of grocery stores around here. I think the ingredients are abundant, as not only the general public, but also the dining room, etc."

Ravers says, but there aren't as many stores as the Paston Chamber of Commerce in Ezarrington, and they all feel like a bit of a larger retailer.

I went around a few houses, but there were few fresh foods because of the bad season. As a result, there are some citrus fruits that are sunny, and no eye-catching ingredients were found, but the items used in the dishes I was thinking about are available.

"Did you find what you needed?," Primrose asked.

"Yeah. Mine's fine. Looks like Master Primrose was buying something, too?

"Yes, because there was a delicious chestnut candied (Marongrasse). I asked the shopkeeper if it was a Radford product..."

That's good, but it shows me a big, 20cm diameter, about 25cm tall. If I thought it was a lot to eat alone, it seemed to be on my face, with a little blame. I've been denying it with my eyes on it.

"I'm not eating alone. I'm going to share it with my friends at the academy."

"Yeah, I thought not," he deceives and tells Laurencia.

"Lawrencia is an herbal ti...... is it a rosati?

There was a picture of a rose on the teapot in front of her, and she reworded it.

Tea also exists in this world, where tea and green tea are consumed. However, tea production took place only on the eastern and southern sides of the Empire, with extremely low circulation. For this reason, tea leaves are expensive and only noble or wealthy merchants drink.

It is also rare to distribute to the north of the continent of Tria, and herbal herbs are common in the Royal Palace in areas north of Aurelia Street and the Kingdom of Kaum.

"Yeah, I couldn't find what I preferred, and when I talked to the store owner, I recommended Rosetti. I don't know if I should try brewing it, but it smelled good, so I bought it."

I heard during the trip that she often had a taste for tea in upper-class salons and she was also very familiar with tea. There wasn't exactly the kind of tea that the Duke's Lady would drink, but she said she was recommended a rosety made from roses around here.

The Duke's warrants as well as Liddy's were buying a lot while I was shopping.

Liddy had bought a ton of cheese at some point. Moreover, Beatrice had a whole chunk of smoked meat like bacon and a raw ham of pork thigh. They buy in so much that they can't see their faces because if they keep it with my storage magic, it won't deteriorate.

(I guess I'll knock it off, but my inventory is full of booze and knobs...)

When I think about it, they tell me, "This cheese was delicious," and "This one goes well with wine and beer," until they've already finished tasting it.

Beatrice seems to carry herself, but Liddy somehow keeps her luggage with Dan.

Mel and Sharon were watching the sweets with Luna and the others.

I think I chose some simple grilled confectionery, dried fruit covered with sugar, etc. Unlike the Liddy's, the quantity was common sense enough to fit into a small bag.

(Theo and the others are more common sense...... how long has this been happening to Liddy and Beatrice......)

That comes to my mind, but Luna seems to enjoy it besides her thoughts, so I decided to do it.

Everyone is satisfied, so we're going back to the castle.

Back at the castle it was about 4 pm and it was time for an afternoon of training. That's why I decided to turn the dessert I was going to make after tomorrow, but when I tell Primrose about it, I'm so discouraged that there's going to be a sound effect called Garn.

"Can't they make it today... I was looking forward to it..."

I was so depressed that I decided to make an easy one of the things I was thinking about.

"I'll make it after the training. It's easy to prepare, and you'll have plenty of time to cool it down, so I'm sure you'll make it to the end of the meal."

When I tell him that, he smiles like a flower blossomed. Laurencia is stunned by that palpable reaction.

"It can't be, Rose. Sir Zacharias, do not spoil your sister either."

"Originally, I was going to ask His Excellency the Marquis to eat it, so I'm fine"

Laurencia laughed nicely when she said, "Thank you very much."

I rush into the kitchen and ask to be ready for work as soon as I get back.

And find Luna,

"I need your help after training. It's not hard. So you can watch the pan, help me stir it up."

I snort, but there is a look on my face why I am.

He nodded again when he convinced me that "everyone is bummed after training".

He then trained as usual in an exercise area in the Imperial Army garrison. There were still a lot of spectators here, the Gallery, but I ignore them and rush back to the castle.

Returning to the castle and sweating in the bathroom, he headed to the kitchen without taking care of his gear. Of course, I will take care of my gear, but I don't have time right now, so I'm going to throw it into the inventory and do it slowly after dinner.

Luna stood waiting in front of the kitchen.

He laughs at me nicely when I approach him by saying, "Sorry to keep you waiting".

"I'm going to make wine jelly, you know what wine jelly is?

"Yes," I replied small.

I knew I was a reincarnator from Earth, but I didn't know which country it came from, so it was possible that I didn't know the jelly itself.

There is also “gelatin” in this world, and there is a dish called jelly. It's eaten in the city on its way here, and it's served at the Lockhart family table in the village of Rasmore.

But I never saw sweet jelly.

That's why I asked him if he knew of a sweet wine jelly. If you know, you'll be born somewhere with a western food culture.

It's why I don't have sweet jelly, but I don't know what's clear either. It's just my imagination, but I feel like there's a problem with the way gelatine is handled in this world.

Gelatin is made by extracting animal and fish collagen, and is often used in this world as an adhesive, glue "wax". In the village of Rasmore, it is often extracted from the skin of pigs, which, as it is, leaves the animal smell of pigs. Because of this, I don't feel that uncomfortable about using it for dishes like juicy jelly, but I have to do something about the smell when I want to use it for dessert.

But I don't know how to take the smell because I don't know how to manufacture gelatine myself.

So the way I did it is very simple.

Repeat the extracted gelatin over and over the process of water content and drying. Take calcium and other easily understandable substances with the magic of extraction along the way. Because it can be magically dried, it can be made as quickly as possible.

What I made is called plate gelatin, like a translucent sheet. I could have crushed it and turned it into powdered gelatin, but it's easier to store it in plate form.

First, dip the plate gelatin in water and keep it back.

Next, skip the alcohol of the wine and sweeten it.

"I wonder if you'll slowly stir it up, watching the fires diminish so it doesn't boil"

He nods cocklessly at my instructions and mixes them with a wooden vera, mindful of the fire.

When the edge between the two and the pan starts to boil, make sure the alcohol has flown, weaken the fire and add the sugar.

"I'm going to add sugar, so I want you to mix it so it doesn't solidify. Can you?"

"Yes, I'm fine," he nodded loudly.

When I started adding sugar, I tried to move Hera back and forth and started stirring.

(I heard you could cook from Sharon and Mel's story, but maybe you've also made jelly. I'm not surprised to see the plate gelatin, and it feels like I'm used to melting sugar. Maybe he's Japanese...)

I look at her handiwork and decide I can leave it to you, and focus on adjusting the flavor.

Season with a little of the prepared lemon juice to taste and bring down from the fire. Rough heat is taken with the magic of a pseudo-perche effect, cooled to about sixty degrees, and then mixed with gelatine returned with water.

But I don't know the right amount of gelatin because I've never actually made it myself. I thought the harder it would be, and stopped putting it in the right place.

"I guess that's it," I whine,

"I think there's less gelatin. We need to get some more..."

I'm surprised you've spoken aggressively, but don't put that on your face,

"Really? Well, I'll take care of it," I said. I'll give you the gelatine I put back.

"Because I don't know Gram... it was about this..." he adds gelatin whining. Its face is serious, but it has a fun look on its face.

Luna turns up the hella and mixes it up again and again looking at the state of the liquid that drips.

(Looks like you've used plate gelatin before. And it looks like fun. In fact, I guess you like this......)

I adjust the temperature with that in mind.

"I think we're good with this," he said with a satisfied face, "so I'll give him the stainless steel mould I've prepared for you to put in this.

Luna nods loudly, cleverly adding the jelly vegetables to the mold with her balls. The look on his face is bright and looks like he enjoys it wholeheartedly.

I can't have everyone for the mould I have available, so I put the rest in the bat and stiffen it up.

Accelerate the time by placing it in the inventory to see how it can be done.

It wasn't more transparent than I thought, but still the beautiful color of wine red comes out. The hardness was just as soft, the sweetness, acidity and aroma of the wine were well balanced and satisfactory.

"Thanks to Luna, it worked." Thank you, "he said, stroking his head," no... "and seemed a little embarrassed.
