Dream Life

Episode 41: Chocolate

February 3.

Today's inspection was cancelled due to the rain that has been falling since yesterday.

The Viscounts of Radford are going to improve the quality of the wine and fill up the distillery construction plan, and they're totally free for the day.

If it hadn't rained, I wouldn't be in the mood to stroll out into the city in the rain of the main.

I can hit the day on a full rest day, but as a poor man, I find it a waste of time.

For this reason, I am going to make something that is the material I got in Ezarrington.

What I got at the Paston Chamber of Commerce in Ezarrington, it's a cocoa. Yes, I found the ingredients for the chocolate.

This cocoa was roasting what it fermented, almost the same cocoa I had seen in the previous world.

When I asked Thomas Paston, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, to tell me how to use it,

"We hear you eat it as it is or flour it and dissolve it in water to drink it. It seems nourishing and should be drunk when tired. However, it is not very tasty due to its strong bitterness…"

It seems to treat you more like a medicine than an ingredient.

Although I bought cocoa beans, I don't have much knowledge. So much so that I've heard that cocoa mass is made from cocoa beans and refined to become cocoa and cocoa butter.

Still, I bought cocoa beans because I thought that using magic it was possible to separate them into oils and fats and cocoa.

I have the magic of extraction. This magic is a soil attribute or metallic magic that can extract certain substances.

If you use the magic of this extraction to remove grease and oil, you should be able to divide it into cocoa and cocoa butter.

In college, from the experience of extracting many substances with the help of Professor Raspade, it is also, in a way, the most skilled magic, and I am confident that I can do it.

Chocolate ingredients, if I remember correctly, are cocoa mass, cocoa butter, and sugar. Add milk and it becomes milk chocolate.

I don't remember how to make it because I saw the brochure of the chocolate store, but for now, I was able to get all the ingredients together, so I think I can handle it with trial and error.

Today's assistant has also nominated Luna. She would know chocolate, maybe, and how to make it.

I am sure that there will be other Liddy and Beatrice who have extra time to come along and Mel will help.

"I want to make something a little different today"

"Is that something unusual?," Mel tilted his neck, and Beatrice said, "Is it a pinch of booze? I've heard."

"Oh, it's something that can be a scotch or brandy knob. It's not good for beer or wine. It's a sweet treat if you say so."

With that said, take out the cocoa beans.

Liddy flaunts her face for a moment.

"You bought it all over Ezarrington, didn't you? It was bitter, my mouth was crunchy, and it wasn't yummy nuts?

She also saw the flavor when I bought it, but it doesn't leave a very good impression.

"This guy doesn't taste very good eating like this. Powder this guy, add grease, mix with sugar and stiffen. That would make it a bitter, sweet treat."

Luna said, "Chocolate?," he mutters. He still seemed to know.

"Yes, it's chocolate. I don't know how to make it in detail either, so it's subtle to succeed, but I think if you try and make mistakes, you can eat something. If you're free, I need your help."

When I said that and recruited an assistant, five people lifted their hands: Liddy, Beatrice, Mel, Luna and Sophia. I also spoke to Theo and Serra, but they said they were going to train at the indoor training ground and said no.

On his way to the kitchen, he accidentally slipped away from Lawrencia, the Duke of Ezarrington.

"Oh? Aren't you training today?

"Yeah, I thought I'd make confectionery with new ingredients today. I don't know if I can make it."

That's what I said and I answered with a laugh,

"Please give your sister a voice. Because she's obsessed with the sweet things you make. Huuuuuuuuuu..."

"Yeah, okay."

Laurencia herself wanted to see it, but along with the Marquises of Seawell and others, she was supposed to lecture her mother Tanya on her mindset as a noble lady and so on, and she couldn't take time.

I asked the maid of the Seawell family to give a message to Primrose and went straight to the kitchen. I already have permission to use the kitchen and will get ready soon.

I was just starting to get ready, and Primrose jumped into the kitchen.

"Hey, what do they make!?" I hear it so loud that I don't think it's the Duke's Lady.

"It's a new sweetness (sweet) made from cocoa. I thought it would take a while, so I was gonna tell you I'd call you when I could?

"Yeah, that's what I asked. But I'm really curious... I won't bother you, so can I just watch here?

She looks like she has no eyes for sweetness, and curiosity seems to have won. "I don't mind," he admitted, taking care not to smile.

Chocolate making, but first removing skin and germ areas from the beans. Fine skins and germs can easily remain, so it's a very cumbersome task.

Continue this work for more than an hour and secure about a kilo of cocoa beans.

"It's got to have been tough from here, but for now, I want you to squash it in a rind bowl. Let's do this while I take turns with Beatrice and Mel."

I shouldn't have been a good chocolate if I hadn't worked out for a long time, but I have no idea how long to do it.

At first, I rinse about two hundred grams in a bowl when I try it in a small amount.

When I started, it felt like forcefully crushing the dried hard beans with a feeling of gullibility. Continue to extend that as the three of us take turns.

I went on for an hour or so, but although it feels snuggly, there is no sign that the tingly feeling disappears. Beatrice asks with a fed up face.

"How long do I have to do this?

"No, I have no idea. It's just not like this."

"Maybe I even had to spend dozens of hours..."

Luna shrugged bossly as she watched the work. She seems to have knowledge I don't know.

But it's also troublesome to keep mixing for decades.

(If you just want to mix it up, you can use the water wheel, but that won't take too long. If you're just going to finely crush it, I wonder if you can do something with the magic of modified (modifying)...)

Modified magic is one of the wood attribute magic and is used to improve paper quality. In my case, the magic I also use to make cork plugs allows me to change the material of wood and other organic matter.

"I'll try to use the modified magic. I just don't know if it's going to work, so keep him mixed up."

Add about 100 grams of cocoa beans to another new container.

"A great tree god (Albor) who made the woods. Tell your family what I think. I don't give my life to pay for it. Modification"

The power of the Spirit is applied to the cocoa beans with the spell.

If you continue to hang the magic for about ten seconds, the shape of the beans that were kachikachi will collapse and change into powdered objects. Continuing to hang more magic, it gradually turns into something that feels snuggly, with no powder or paste.

In the end, after about thirty seconds, the feeling of Zarazara disappeared somewhat, like a powder mixed with oil.

"I guess this is it. Luna, what do you think?

Peek into the vessel and say, "I don't know," but immediately say, "I think it's probably okay. I'm not sure..." I replied.

The same is true of the rind bowl that Beatrice used to rinse with modified magic.

"I'm glad you were magical from the beginning," Beatrice says dissatisfied as she rubs her weakened arm.

"If you don't do it the way you know it at first, you don't know how much you have to do it"

That being said, I also intended to use the magic of extraction, so I reflect that I should have used magic where I powdered it.

The oil and fat content is then separated by the magic of extraction. Do you have more oil than I thought, or I can have chunks like butter.

Then add the cocoa butter to the fine cocoa, then add a little more sugar and practice.

I don't know how long to do this task at all unknown either.

I mix it up, but it doesn't mix well.

"You should fry it..." Luna said, realizing the temperature is low and the viscosity is too high.

Ask them to prepare the water, and warm each rinse bowl while practicing. Now I was able to practice well and gradually became chocolate-like.

But no matter how much you practice, the lights don't come out. When I lick it, it looks somewhat like chocolate, but it's not smooth, and it also feels a little oily.

"That doesn't work. There's nothing I can't eat even this......" Luna peeks into the rind bowl when she whines.

"I think the temperature is too high this time. We don't have a thermometer, so I don't know how much."

Now he's talking to me in a clear tone.

You know a lot more about chocolate than I do. Maybe he was a confectionery maker.

Then remove the hot sauce and lower the temperature, and if it drops too low, reheat and refine. Somehow, the lighting came out, so I put it in the bat and cooled it down with the magic of a pseudo-perche effect.

"Did you do it?" I've been watching Primrose for a long time and I've heard it like it's a snack.

"I think maybe I could, but would you like to see the flavor with me?

"Yes!" He nodded with great momentum. I couldn't help but smile at the way it was, and I noticed it and she was blushing in embarrassment.

I'll try it first.

(Not yet, the roughness is still there, but it's okay. Pretty bitter, but in the future you should add milk or adjust the amount of sugar to taste......)

I didn't have a problem, so I'm going to give everyone on the spot the crushed shards.

"That's pretty good," Liddy said, "I feel a little bitter, but I think it smells good," she also liked Mel.

"I don't like sweet things that much, but I can do this," Beatrice also scored her passing.

The nine-year-old Sophia didn't seem to like "bitter..."

And Luna, but he groans, "Chocolate... real chocolate... yummy..."

"What do you say? I made it thanks to Luna, but now let's add some milk or raw cream and make it a milk chocolate."

"Yes! Also, let me help!" He replied in a bright voice, never before.

Initially, primrose with the most temper, but no response with the chocolate in her mouth. I think it's strangely quiet, and I look at her and she's kind of bumpy and squeaky.

"What is this? It's a little bitter, but sweet and delicious... will this be commercialized? What shall we do..."

He seemed a little trippy, so I was watching him without speaking up, and he said, "Dear Zacharias!" Suddenly he shouted out loud.

"Yes," he replied, "what food is this!," he says, stuffing me.

"It's called chocolate, what's wrong?

"Is this something only Master Zacharias can make! If so, I have to go to the village of Rasmore too! Then I think this can be used for other sweeteners (sweets), but what can it be used for! Make this for me! Oh, I can't believe it's so sweet..."

He's barely screaming alone, and there's no gap for me to answer. I will answer the question in a slight pull.

"We used magic this time, but you shouldn't have to use magic to do it. Your question is if it can be used for other sweets, but it can be used. Mixing in gelato is delicious, and mixing in baked confectionery improves the flavor. There are still plenty of cocoa beans, so make your own for Primrose at noon."

Primrose is relieved, "Oh, good," as his eyes shine.

Apparently, I also have to tell someone how to make chocolate.

(The candidate is the Robbins Chamber of Commerce. I have to make a note on how to make it......)

Bart Robbins is an imperial merchant who bought Gelato's method for 10,000 kronas when he came to the Dwarf Festival last year. He's a Seawell family merchant, so you can teach him how to make chocolate.

(I guess I'll let you try it and ask how much it will serve. Nothing. I just don't mind, but I'm curious how much you would rate it...)

After lunch, I made chocolate for Primrose as promised and gave it to her. Unlike the one in the morning, she admired this one as tastier with milk chocolate with moisture removed by the magic of extraction.

"There is only one caveat," said Primrose, who was cheeky with chocolate, leaning her neck small.

"This confection is very nutritious, so if you eat too much, you gain weight. Be careful."

In that word she stares at the chocolate in her hand like a garn.

"How long should it be? ♪ And I've heard it with a crying face, ♪

"That's about half of what you have right now. I think you should probably keep it at 20 or 30 grams."

"No..." I said and shut up.

I then said, "It's a good treat for restoring fatigue," and I also tried to serve it to the Seawell Marquis, who has been in meetings since morning, but it was very popular.

Viscount Radford, in particular, was in the mood for commercialization,

"Will you let me buy the method for half a million kronas? I'd like to sign an exclusive agreement."

"Is it half a million!" I screamed unexpectedly. When it comes to 500,000 kronas, it's about 500 million yen in Japanese yen.

"There is endless possibilities for this chocolate sweetness. I think this unique fragrance is not only sweet, but can also be used in cooking. If we could sell this exclusively, we would make enormous money. Once in Teito, we are going to sign a long-term contract with Cacao's production area soon..."

The gastronomer's Viscount seems to have noticed the possibility of chocolate.

(I didn't know you could even come up with something to use for cooking. That's just great...... but isn't it weird that half a million kronas? No, it's not unlikely if you look at Master Primrose's face, nevertheless...)

In the end, we agreed to sell it to the Viscount for half a million kronas, but since it meant that it could not be paid in lump sum in the private property of the Viscount family, we were to talk to the Robbins Chamber of Commerce and sign a contract with both the Viscount and the Robbins Chamber of Commerce.

(I made it lightly... but it was thanks to Luna's knowledge that I could make it. I don't know what to do......)

Honestly telling Luna about this, she said, "Five hundred thousand kronas?" I can't seem to get a real sense of it.

"That's enough money to buy a big mansion in Imperial City," he said, rounding his eyes.

"Mr. Zach was made, and I'm fine. I didn't even make a big deal of it...... why not use it to make alcohol?

I just wondered if I would receive the money from the Viscount, and talked to my father.

"I take care of the Seawell family. And I'm guessing you don't even want money, do you?

"Right. Because it would be cumbersome to spread the word that you bought a way to make it from me, and I will fully match it with the information you are getting now. If you still say so, I'll make sure you send me rare ingredients from the southern part of the empire."

Thus, it was decided that the chocolate method would be transferred free of charge to the Seawell family.

For more information, we plan to turn in the Robbins Chamber of Commerce after entering the Imperial City.
