Dream Life

Lesson Three: Mercenary Alliance

May 12.

I arrived in Fortis City yesterday. Because of the unfamiliar craftsmen and their families, today is the day of rest.

Although the aftermath of last night's banquet at the Blacksmith Guild will remain, I was going to relax for the first time in a long time, too.

After breakfast and neat in the inn dining room, my brothers came.

"What are you going to do today?" Theo asked. Behind us are also the sisters Serra and Sofia, and Luna.

"I'm thinking about taking a stroll around the city...... do you have any ideas?

That's what I asked because it felt like the four of them were consulting beforehand.

After Sella sees the other three faces, she answers "yes" cheerfully and starts talking.

"I'm in the city of corner mercenaries, so I'd like to see the general headquarters of the mercenary guild. And then maybe the training ground..."

Here is the general headquarters of the mercenary guild, with many mercenaries. Perhaps you'd like to see those mercenaries trained.

There was only one question.

My brothers would understand, but it's about Luna being with me.

She has shown no interest in swordsmanship. I was uncomfortable that she wanted to actively go to the training ground like that.

"Is that okay with Luna, too? You can go somewhere else with Mel or Sharon."

"Thank you," I say, bowing my head,

"I want to see it too. Besides, if you're with Mr. Zach, you're going to be able to go somewhere where there's something delicious. Woof......"

I smile like a soldier.

"Then keep your voice to the Mels, too. I'll tell Liddy and Beatrice."

When I told them so, the four of them left the room fine.

"Wow..." Liddy shows up. She still looks a little sleepy and looks like she just woke up.

"Nevertheless, she's much brighter too."

It seemed like a wake-up call, but he sounded like he was listening.

"Right. I wish I could start training at this rate."

"You're gonna be okay. What more do you do today than that? Are you going to go with Theo and the others to the general headquarters of the mercenary guild?

"Oh, I'm going to look at headquarters and training grounds in the morning and take a stroll around the city in the afternoon. Looks like there's only some ingredients here. What about Liddy?

"I'm coming, too," he replies instantly, "but are you okay?" I add.

"What?," he said.

"I wonder if we should even go and see where the distillery is planned to be built in this city. I think the Rudiggers are about to say something."

"Then I'll be fine. I've been told that distilleries can be found anywhere around this city."

Here Fortis is close to water sources and surrounded by woods. Also, there is plenty of coal to fuel here, and plenty of cows and pigs to eat to squeeze, so conditions are perfect.

"Don't you think about new alcohol here? Potatoes, for sure..."

"Say no more," he says, blocking Liddy's mouth.

Then look around and make sure there is no shadow of the Dwarves.

"When the Dwarves ask me, I'm sorry for two or three days. And there's a hit on it. If you go back to the village and tell the craftsmen somehow, there's no problem."

There are potatoes in Fortis' specialty. If you make that potato liquor, you can have vodka. Well, vodka is not the only ingredient for potatoes, but you can definitely still have new liquor.

In the case of vodka, unlike scotch and bourbon, maturation is not necessary, so it can be made under the same conditions as Newpot, or freshly made whiskey.

But if that thing leaks to Dwarf, he'll talk about what kind of booze it's going to be and how to drink it, and likely won't be able to clean it up. I was concerned about it and blocked her from speaking.

Around 9: 00 a.m., I leave the inn.

As usual, in addition to the six Zac Sextets, four people join them: Theo, Serra, Sofia and Luna. Furthermore, Elena wanted to go with her, which made her a big zone of eleven.

Elena, by the way, but I should be with my mother because I'm supposed to be a samurai. But my mother told me to go for a walk with us because we wanted to slow down, and they sent us out.

Somehow, but I felt my mother was plotting for her and Dan to be together.

It seems safe to just stroll around the city centre, so you don't need protective gear if you're supposed to. But this time I'm going to go to the training ground, just in case I'm fully equipped.

Evil stands out so you could get involved, but because you thought maybe you could get good mercenaries to train you.

When you leave the Inn, you first head to the General Headquarters of the Mercenary Guild.

The main headquarters is in the heart of Fortis City, just off the Inn.

The headquarters was a stately four-story stone building, with a mercenary guild crest, “Shields, Crossed Swords and Spears”, on the gate about three metres high.

In order to enter the headquarters, when I spoke to the gatekeeper at the gate, he said that if he was sure of his identity, he could enter the floor on the ground floor, so I showed him the orb and went inside. Because this is also a bureau, there are procedures such as reception for emigration, and security is not as tight, he said.

Inside was the same atmosphere as the total headquarters of the Adventurer Guild we went to in Periclitle. I have the impression that the bureau is more than the total mercenary tightening of the desolate.

"It feels like a bureau here," I say, and Liddy nods, "Looks like it," too.

However, Theo and the others were excited about the headquarters they saw for the first time.

"There's someone stronger than your uncle here, isn't there," Theo asked.

"Yeah, there's got to be some ex-mercenaries over level 100. Gideon Dyer, I think."

"Oh, definitely Gideon from“ Swordmaster. "I've never even met him before."

Beatrice supplemented me.

Gideon is a fierce man of over 100 levels, a man who was said to be the most powerful mercenary in the world. I don't know the details, but he retired about two years ago, so much so that the story was passed on to Doctus, far away.

"I'd love to see you," Serra said, nodding both Sofia and "me."

For both of us, an armed warrior might be a popular sportsman or feel like an idol.

Tour the headquarters, but few were as interesting as there was a reception at the bureau. However, there was a lot of guidance on the bulletin board for the mercenary regiment, among which was a sticker for martial arts instruction.

"Maybe I'll see you," I said, and Serra said, "True! Brother Zach," he approached.

The sticker I'm looking at says "Coaching Dates by Coach Gideon Dyer," and it was on that coaching day today.

"True! Brother, let's get to the training ground quickly," Sophia pulls her arm.

I don't disagree because I want to see it myself, but I couldn't help but be anxious about the future of a nine-year-old girl with sparkling eyes.

(Are you okay... if I said I wouldn't marry someone stronger than myself, I'd only feel like I'd be dealing with a huge difference in age...)

I hope not now, but if we level up at the current pace, we're going to be at the level of veteran mercenaries in ten years. I get a little headache thinking about it.

The training ground was written to be behind the headquarters. Exactly five places because of the city of mercenaries.

I checked at headquarters, and they say the tour itself is free even if you're not in the mercenary guild, and you head straight back.

The training ground was much like anything else in the city. It was about thirty meters by twenty meters in size, and about ten mercenaries were training.

However, because of the large number of young people, there is no one with big arms, and Selah makes a grumpy face.

"I thought there was someone stronger... now my village people are definitely stronger"

Sure, you're right, the mercenaries' arms are precisely in places like the second half of level twenty. Even at my age, our vigilante is younger and of higher level.

In the meantime, there was someone who emitted a different colour.

It feels like the mid to late forties, about the same height as me, but with a disappointing figure. He has a two-handed sword-shaped wooden sword with a wide range of swords from one hundred twenty to one hundred and thirty centimeters, like claymore in his hand, staring at the young mercenaries with sharp eyes. It's hard to say where, but I'm overwhelmed by the atmosphere and the presence.

(I'm not even yelling at you, but you're so intimidating. I guess that guy is Gideon Dyer......)

Beatrice and Mel are following each and every step of the way because they feel like they can't keep an eye on the person.

"That's right on your knees at headquarters. I don't feel like I can beat you if I interact with Jen."

When Beatrice shrugged like that, Mel was also impressed with "you really don't have a gap anywhere".

The mercenaries also notice our presence and begin to see it.

Eleven groups of people, eight of whom are women. He also seems to be concerned about the unusually young under twenty except Beatrice and Liddy.

It's just that when you care about us, your mentor tells you, "Where are you looking!" Repeatedly, the reprimand flew and rushed to concentrate on training.

Watching for about twenty minutes, it's time for a break or the mercenaries walk to the edge of the training ground. One of them approached us.

The man is about in his early twenties, shorter than me, poorer looking for mercenaries, and less well-off physically.

"It's not a spectacle. Go somewhere because you're distracted."

"I'm sorry about that. But I've been told that the tour is free. You can let these kids see some more."

Beatrice says so and points to Theo and the others.

So the man noticed the Lockhart family crest, "The Lion Who Rise..." he murmured.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Are you here to laugh at the poor mercenary training?

I find myself slightly irritated by the disgusting way of saying it, but I'm not willing to cause any trouble. I was just about to tell you to head to another training ground, and Serra will erupt first.

"I'm not here to laugh! But I'm pretty sure I thought I'd see some better training!

Young mercenaries stir up at the words.

"Don't slap the kid in the mouth like he looks great!

I tried to say something more, but someone like Gideon cracks in.

"Stop it, Jay. Don't make trouble here."

I'm not yelling at him, but nature and his gaze turn to him.

"I'm sorry. I'll tell this guy later."

That's what I say and I bow my head gently.

"What are you apologizing for, Mr. Gideon! These guys made fun of us!

"Ugh. I've been watching the whole thing. You got involved."

The man called Jay to the word shrugged his shoulder in a vicious manner and sighed for a moment,

"These are the nobles of the Empire. Those are the rumored Lockhart family, too. They must have come to look down on us!

Gideon says, "Shut up," but

"You're from the Lockhart family... and you're Zacharias, the Darkness Demon Swordsman."

I'm surprised you know my name.

"Yeah, it's Zacharias Lockhart. Let me apologize for my sister's disrespectful mouth."

That's what I say and I bow my head. Serra tried to raise her voice of protest at me lowering her head, but Liddy told me to "shut up" and I got a smack in the head.

"But Sister Lydia..." she said, as did Beatrice. "That's too much to say. A proper apology," Serra said, "I'm sorry," and reluctantly bowed her head.

"Jay, such a little lady bowed her head. What are you gonna do?

Jay, with his sharp gaze on him, moves his shoulder in a vicious manner, but no words come out.

"Are you going to paint mud on the name of the Dyer Mercenaries? If you want your child to bow his head and admit no..."

So Jay blocked the words and said, "I get it! You can apologize!" I said, bowing my head wide at us.

"Sorry I stuck around earlier"

I think I'm sorry to be in trouble here, and I accept your apology immediately.

"No, this one was bad, so keep your head up"

"That won't be a problem. But it's not good to keep you disturbed. How about a little tweaking?"

I was surprised by the unexpected offer from Gideon, and I didn't get a word for a moment.

"What do you say?," he asked again.

"Are you sure? As far as I'm concerned, I'd love to..."

"I don't mind. Not this guy, but I'm interested in the Lockhart family, too. Especially with your tiger sister and you."

Whatever Beatrice is, I'm surprised at the word that she paired up with me.

"With me? Why is Lord Gideon Dyer of Swordmaster?

So Gideon laughed niggly.

"I've never fought a guy named Magic Swordsman. I don't know what kind of hand you're gonna use. It's been a long time since I've dealt with them. What do you think, now you're convinced?"

Unlike the first impression, unexpectedly, he seems to be a cheerful person.

"If that's the case, I'll be happy to deal with you. I don't want to miss the opportunity to be coached directly by Kensei either."

So I offered him my right hand. Gideon took my right hand firmly.

Further towards the mercenaries resting in the back,

"Offer whoever wants to do a mock fight! It's a rare opportunity to play with the Lockhart family!

Mel ran for the word, "I want to do it with Mr. Gideon, too," and Theo and the others had also started a prep movement at some point by taking off their capes.

(When did this happen? Well, this is a good opportunity...)

Although I don't know, I was motivated myself.
