Dream Life

Episode 72: Return and Report

Around noon on March 30th.

After finishing scouting the cave where the enemies of the gods were, I caught up with my preceding grandfathers.

At the moment of his chase, Liddy hugged him, but he seemed rather worried, holding him in tears and struggling to forgive him.

It will soon be a break, where I will explain to my grandfathers that it was a cave.

We will scratch and talk about the crisis that has left us from the gods, and what we have been told is useless in the future.

"I mean, bye. That pitch-black demons, the enemies of the gods, are no longer around here."

"Yes, the God of Heaven (Caerm) has affirmed that he has already moved to another place"

"Then you can think of the biggest crisis as leaving," he said, exhaling a rare relief for his grandfather.

"It will. But this area is originally dangerous land. Don't be alarmed."

I don't expect my grandfather to be alarmed, but the others are listening, so I'll stab the nail once and for all.

"I know. So what are you gonna do when you get back to Riccardale?"

"I honestly haven't thought about it. In the meantime, I'm thinking of going back to the village..."

"Right. I like that. Because I no longer have a reason to be here," Liddy nodded with a smile.

"What are you gonna do about Luna? Gods are right, do you want to leave me alone?

I tried to answer Beatrice's question, but before that, Liddy pinches his mouth.

"Isn't that the only way? It would be even more dangerous if this man were involved. Then you should leave it to someone named Lucidus, the son of that God of Light."

"I know that's the best thing about you..."

I have a bad tooth cut for Beatrice.

"I guess I'm not dragging," I say, "Oh."

"If you ask me if I'm dragging, all I can say is that I can't break it off so easily. But if I get close enough, Luna's in danger. Well, there's one thing I want to do when I get back to the village, and then I'll be able to break it off."

"I hope so."

Mel asked in a bright voice after Beatrice.

"What do you do when you get back to the village?

"Right. Looks like this year's Dwarf Festival is still here, and I think it's a good idea to celebrate the festival with everyone."

"I like that! I'll hang in there too!," Mel said brightly, as Sharon laughed,

"Mel starts by healing her body," she stabbed the nail.

"We'll do it slowly when we get back to the village. Now it's best to go back to Riccadale."

The day was not attacked by demons, and we proceeded smoothly through the woods.

I was worried about Dan and Mel's health, but although they both show tiredness, they never fell ill.

Although Nicholas, who lost his left arm, was not ill, he was still unfamiliar or out of balance many times. Still, on the second day, it was balanced by bracketing a round shield (round shield) on the left arm, and it was no longer that late.

Two days later, he joined his brother Rod, who was ahead of him on the evening of April 2, and the Lockhart family twenty-four were aligned again. Although there is no Brett and Ricky compared to the time of departure, there is no substitute for being a large area, which adds to the peace of mind.

April 3rd the following day.

Getting close to Rickadale becomes attacked by demons several times. However, it was all demons equivalent to the third and fourth levels, and they killed me instantly without having to use my magic.

That evening, about two kilometers away, I petition my grandfather to stop.

"We will produce materials for the Land Dragon and other demons. Let's split it up and take it."

Grounddragons' materials were stored in the Storage Magic (Inventory). This is to minimize luggage.

"Wouldn't it still take more than an hour?," my brother asked.

"I don't usually meet other adventurers unless I get a little closer, but I don't know what's going on in Rickadale. So just in case."

My explanation convinces everyone. Many people could afford it physically because they were thinking about the Nicholas and going at a slower rate than they went.

Materials such as ground dragons, multi-headed snake dragons (hydra), swordtooth tigers (sabel tigers) and synthetic beasts (chimeras) hunted along the way will also be distributed from the inventory.

Everyone but the wounded and grandfather and brother holds their baggage. He bears a big bag made of leather like Santa Claus, and he doesn't even look more like a bandit who's done his job than a crusader.

After I left, my grandfather spoke to me.

"I remember looking at the material, but what are you going to do with this?

Though he set it to go dragon exorcism, he didn't think ahead.

"No crusade requests have been made, so I won't bring them to the Guild Branch. I'm going to have the Riccadale craftsmen handle it before I take it back to the village. Because it's easier to spread rumors."

Leaving aside the fact that the Lockhart family went out to Riccadale with total force this time will be a rumor. Not only does no one come to explore without reason for everyone to be convinced, but if they do, they may end up in Luna's presence.

To reduce that risk, the Lockhart family, at my request, is going to talk about defeating the Demon-like and defeating the Ground Dragon and the First Giant (Cyclops) in the process. Most people would believe me if I told them when I came to Riccadale that I was saying dragon exorcism because I was wary of the Demons.

"In addition to the Grounddragon and Cyclops, there are the Great Demon (Greater Demon) Crystal Stones. Use it to spread the story that the inexplicable movement of demons, which was the depths of Aquila, was the work of demon-like beings manipulating the Great Demon. In fact, I'm not lying because I'm looking at the dark demons."

"I do like that. It doesn't feel good to think that the Lockhart family has moved to the fame and desire of dragon extermination."

When my brother says that, Dan also nods, "It's easier to explain what I did before," he says.

"Then forget everyone. This time we went to the depths of Aquila to defeat the devilish at Zach's request. When I came to Riccadale, I talked about dragon extermination because it was troublesome for the Demons to know. The demons fled, but they also defeated the great demons and demons, and the earth dragons and cyclopses that were nearby. But don't talk about that demon general..."

The recognition of all is over and we leave again.

Then came the demons of the fourth and fifth levels, but they saw us and ran away. I may have smelled the ground dragon and hydra material as well as the number of people.

Around 5 p.m., we arrived in Riccadale.

The face of the Lockhart family is responsible for the material of the big man and walks in an exhilarating manner.

Many have many wounds on Nicholas and armor who have lost one arm, and it is easy to imagine that it was a fierce battle. For that reason, the people of Riccadale were whispering, "Looks like we've really been knocking down dragons," he said. I'm just not familiar with my grandfathers and I feel like I'm having trouble dealing with them.

Gladys, a second-degree adventurer, found me,

"That's Lockhart. How much did you take down," he approached.

Although the face is laughing, the eyes are not laughing. And he said, "What happened to the enemy in the example?," he asked in a whisper.

"I defeated all my men, but the big guys got away with it. I just don't think he'll be around here because he seems to have pulled off the base, too. I plan to report it to the Alliance later."

He told me Gladys had enemies that we didn't even match, so he seemed to care and ask about it.

Hear my words and get a relief look on your face.

"You mean Lionheart Govan? You got rid of someone you were desperate for."

Gladys got me wrong as I thought.

In fact, we're better off running back, but we don't have to continue to be frightened in vain by the person who's gone. It could come back, but I still have the same conditions, so there's no problem.

Into the inn, but not long after slowing down, we head to the Adventurer Guild branch with Liddy and Sharon. Mel and Dan left the inn to rest their bodies, and Beatrice acted differently to ask for the material to be processed.

It was the most intrusive time of the evening, but it was not a report of the fulfillment of the request, but the provision of information on the depths of the Aquila Mountains, which meant that it was immediately received and put through to the back room.

I'm surprised the branch manager was already waiting for me even though it's only been a few minutes since I walked into the building.

"You can assume that you've resolved to some extent that you're back."

That's what the Branch Manager has been asking nervously.

"No problem with that perception. The Great Devil and the Demon are exterminated, and they call themselves the Demon General (Archdemon). Besides, we can confirm that the most dangerous demonic figure has escaped."

"Well... until the Demon General..." he exhaled in relief,

"This is a post facto matter, but let me process it as a first-level equivalent request as important information"

I'm surprised at the story that it will be a first-level request after the fact.

"Is this a first-degree request? I don't think there's ever been a precedent?

"It's not my discretion, it's a circular from the General Headquarters. If things are happening enough for the Lockhart family to name their total strength, they seem to have decided that the first level is reasonable. No matter what, we also have a reward."

Heavy arguments were apparently exchanged at General Headquarters when the grandfathers passed Periclitle. At that time, Randall Ogburn, who had ties to us, told me he convinced the guild chief.

Incidentally, the reward is a thousand kronas per capita and about a million yen in Japanese yen. This isn't paid for the entire Lockhart family, just us Zachsextet and Guy who are registering as adventurers.

"I want you to give me more information about the exact location and the power of the enemy. Of course, you'll be tired today, so it doesn't matter after tomorrow. Guess we'll stay a few days, huh?

"There are injured people, and I want to ask them to process the material, so I'm going to be there for a couple of days. The report should be sooner, so I'll be back tomorrow morning."

So I thought I was done talking, and I tried to get up. But I can hang more words from the branch manager.

"What are you guys gonna do? Are you going home with Sir Govan?"

"I intend to," he replies, "but I was unable to grasp the meaning of the question.

"If I may, I'd like you to continue your adventurers in Riccardale."

The shortage of manpower persisted, and he wanted us, as branch managers, to remain secondary adventurers.

"I can't accompany your request. We're going back to the village, too."

"Well... can I assume you're not going to quit the adventurer..."

Ask me like I'm exploring. He thinks we're distrustful of the Adventurer Alliance.

In fact, it's not like you have nowhere to think because you're making the decision to leave the enemies of the gods alone without listening to my words. It's just that even the elite of the Lockhart family struggles that much, even if they think the guild will deal with it. Even putting in a good adventurer would have just killed the dog.

In that light, the decision of the General Headquarters was not strong or incorrect.

"I'm not going to quit at the moment. It's just that I kept crawling into the mountains, so to be honest, I wanted to take a little rest."

"Right. I'm sorry I'm tired. That's it."

After leaving the guild, Liddy muttered bossly, "You're desperate for the guild, too".

"Right. Well, if we're gone, we're gonna be late for a regular request."

When I say that, Sharon hammers, "Right."

"But you don't need us to stick with it. Because freedom is the adventurer of the Creed."

My thoughts are the same as Sharon's.

You want to hold us back until we treat you like you've never done before, but being here in a situation where you can't get involved with Luna is risky.

She won't be coming to Riccardale, the front line in her power, but it's fully conceivable that I'm going to Periclitle in relation to the request.

First of all, I haven't been able to organize my own mind.

It makes me wonder if I can throw out about Luna and do what I want, as the gods say, and that's not dishonest with her.

Either way, there is no substitute to go back to the village once and reset your feelings.

When I went back to the inn and removed my gear and went to the dining room, I was already in banquet mode. Many adventurers speak to the face of the Lockhart family.

Exactly. No one is familiar with the attitude of grandfather, Walt and other veterans, but second- and third-degree veteran adventurers were speaking to their squire around the age of thirty. They were concerned about the information in Aquila's depths and seemed to recommend alcohol to their generation of squires who seemed easy to talk to.

"It was late, wasn't it," Gladys called out.

I've been providing information to the Branch Manager.

"That's a good story! Zach and the others get to their seats," the other adventurers say.

Respond with one hand up to that voice and head to the table where my grandfathers are.

My grandfather was surrounding the table with his brother, Walt, and responding with a smile to the adventurers he spoke to.

"Thank you for your hard work."

"No, the guild seemed to take this one seriously as a crack. Thanks to your uncle."

"What do you mean?" I leaned my neck, so I scratched and talked about what was going on in the guild.

"Right. I hope this makes your guild feel critical..."

My grandfather and I seem to be relieved and still have anxiety.

Still, he soon showed the Rockhart family cheerfulness and sipped alcohol with the adventurers.

I'm headed to the table with Liddy and Beatrice. There was also a sick Dan there.

"Dan's going up to second grade, too," he said.

"In the second degree, sir? In the meantime, I just went up to the third level."

"This information was treated as a first-level request. Level three is a one-shot upgrade."

You can't hide your surprise in that word, you're circling your eyes.

Usually it takes nearly five years to get up from third to second grade.

Anyway, here in Rickadale, there are few second- or third-level requests per se on other lands, making it difficult to meet the conditions for promotion.

Well, there are only a few first-degree requests a year, even here in Rickadale. Naturally, third-degree adventurers rarely receive first-level requests because of second-degree parties.

"Guy's going to be second class too, so don't let the Jakes produce second class adventurers for two generations."

"You're a famous adventurer," Liddy says.

"Sharon is also here, so the three parents and children are in second grade. I've never heard of it before, so it's probably the first time in the Alliance."

Beatrice is right, there seems to be an example of a brother and a second-degree adventurer, but I have never heard of an example of two parents and two children, and at the same time three second-degree adventurers.

"My father and I were just lucky. If it's true, it shouldn't be a first-level request."

Dan says so and humbles himself,

"Be more confident. Mr. Guy and you are the scouts of the Lockhart family. It's not weird at all, even in the second degree."

That's what Mel says and scolds.

That night opened earlier than usual.

We weren't so tired, but because Gladys and the others were reluctant.

I thought I wasn't tired myself, but for the first time in ten days I lay on a comfortable sleeping table and immediately traveled to the world of my dreams.
