Drop!! ~A Tale of the Fragrance Princess~ (WN)

Act 52 Admission to the Great Bookshelf

Although Clive had an annoying look on his face, he ended up walking through the infirmary to the front gate before guiding Cordelia along the way to the Grand Bookshelf.

There was no particular conversation on the road, but he seems to have a much more disciplined personality as he deliberately guides us down the road from the front gate.

(The road from the prince's room, the road from the infirmary, there's nothing left to go by)

Cordelia thanked me for guiding her not to have any trouble later, even though she seemed more hated than she had no affection...

But I felt an aura coming from his back saying, 'Don't talk to me,' and I still didn't tell him the word. Because I feel like Cordelia could just let her face get distracted by the fact that she opens her mouth, so I thought it would be better to tell her all about it as much as possible, which would also hurt his mood less. I'm willing to tell you, but for once, I want to do it later.

(Besides, it is because of the guidance you have given me. We need to see what's going to be a landmark)

Apparently, the Great Bookshelf is in a deeper place than Cordelia thought.

But the place called Castle has a sense of unity in all of the buildings, so you'll get used to it a few times, but you're not sure you can remember it at once. Still, this guidance cannot be wasted. I desperately searched for something with few landmarks, but still features, such as trees and decorations. If you get lost the next time you visit, you're too badly dressed. I'm sure Ronnie will be with me next time, so I don't want to show you my pity.

(Plus... Lost could be a really nasty line...)

I have seen the better-looking situation of "Lost Lady and Prince Encounter" in previous life and in novels in this world.

That stuff, it's enough in the story. Never reproduce. Then the possibility of getting lost should also be eliminated.

But I think so against myself, while Cordelia understands the story itself.

If help came when you were anxious, you must see them all the time...

(I was playing a game where 'Cordelia' was coming out in the first place because I was interested in seeing scenes like that, right...)

It's just that Cordelia wasn't playing a lot of games where romance was involved.

I enjoyed it during the game feeling like a guardian watching over the heroine's happiness, but fuzzy, 'I don't know what I'd do,' because when I blurted out thinking, I got this awkward, itchy embarrassment that was so hard to say. "What are you thinking when I'm not such an innocent person like this heroine! 'and I don't know how many penetrations I put into myself... etc. I played it out well, but I was stuffy and distressed like that from time to time, so I couldn't buy a new game... I can tell you. I experienced similar symptoms in the novels and comics, but still the power of the game with audio was extraordinary.

Of course, it was also because I was satisfied with that game... but in any case, I don't really want to think about what the hell I would have thought if someone else had seen me playing the game.

(... but yeah. If you got lost and were more kind than your Highness, I'd like to talk to you more... I might think so.)

But still, considering that, my cheeks and mouth are about to move unnaturally.

Cordelia desperately tried to calm her expression and feelings.

(What am I thinking? We shouldn't be talking about the Pameladian daughter being directional tone-deaf in the first place. So I wouldn't let that happen)

No, if it's because the encounter was directional tone deafness before then, wouldn't you be dressed up later? That's embarrassing, so let's definitely avoid it.

"Miss Pameladia, what are you thinking"

"... excuse me. We were looking for landmarks on the road."

Cordelia returned an unusual answer to an inquiry from Clive with a suspicious look on her face. Until earlier, I even turned my back and walked, but when did I turn around? Yes Cordelia kept in mind that, I think, she had to reflect on the fact that she was so distracted by something extra that she didn't realize how he was behaving like that.

Clive moved his eyebrows at Cordelia's answer.

"Sure, this could be a hard place to tell at a time"

"Yes."

"If you don't know, it's about not looking wasted and asking people sooner"

"... right"

Clive, to put it mildly, started walking forward again.

(Sure, you just have to ask people before they get lost)

Asking means asking in an instant. It would also lead to other people's annoyance if you keep wandering off at a loss. If asked smartly, it should also lessen the poor outfit of being lost… etc. While Cordelia was determined, an independent building, which also looked like a chapel, caught my eye.

The fact that the building is a large bookshelf could be judged by Clive's approaching you.

There were two guards at the entrance, but as soon as Clive said a word or two, the road was given way. Cordelia also followed Clive and approached the building door on the path conceded.

"With an earlier permit on this text, the door will open"

"Thank you"

Stopped in front of the door, Clive explained to Cordelia with a total push of lack of affection. The fact that it should be left to the text on the door means that the permit is apparently still a magic tool.

The heavy doors slowly opened as Cordelia carried her permit as directed.

(... I've never seen an automatic door in this world)

Cordelia moved on to the interior of the building, impressed that there was still a rare skill in the royal castle. Not that there is a book as soon as you knock on the door, but the hallway continues for a while from the entrance. If you go through this hallway, you'll meet new books - and while you raise your expectations so much, Cordelia thought of Elvis.

(... your father built a greenhouse for me that wasn't even in the royal castle with this trick door technique)

While once again respecting Elvis' power, Cordelia thought once again that she had to live her days in a mood more than ever before when she was given such a thing.

Well, I'd like to move on for that too...... is Clive there yet? Cordelia looked back with that in mind, but what a closed door.

"Huh?"

Shouldn't it have moved on to say Clive didn't come inside? Cordelia was a little confused, but after a while the door opened again and Clive came inside. In that hand, something seemed to be a permit of a different colour than Cordelia's.

Does that mean I have to authenticate one person at a time when I come in here? Then you have to be careful when you come with Ronnie, Cordelia thought.

"Master Eames has a permit, too."

Clive won't be exhibiting his work at the review. Is it because you're still on the prince's side that you still have a permit? If that's the case, maybe Vernault has it too.

Cordelia asked lightly, but Clive deepened the crease between his eyebrows.

"Mine is temporarily loaned, just a pass. It's not something you're allowed to view."

"You have permission to enter, but you shouldn't look at the books?

"I've never been told to ban it, but I don't deserve it"

Clive went on to say it clearly, in a strong tone.

"It's not like there's a confidential sentence here, but it's a place where I let you browse royal personal belongings. so that you understand it again and again."

"That, of course,"

When Cordelia replied, Clive started leading again.

With each step taken, Cordelia's tensions also increase.

In no time Cordelia reached a space filled with tons of books. It is filled with narrow spaces and shelves, and there is a surprising array of books in the shelves. That was exactly the place where I thought it was appropriate to be named "Big". The bookshelf is far higher than a person's back, and ladders and stepladders for taking books can be seen everywhere.

……

Of course, I imagined and hoped there would be many books.

But Cordelia lost her word to the sight of far exceeding expectations.

"Both upstairs and underground are similar, but with the exception of some, there are restrictions on taking out books. All you have to do is ask the secretary for more information."

……

"Miss Pameladia?

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to... I was overwhelmed"

Cordelia, just amazed, managed to understand Clive's words, but was overwhelmed by the sight. This was given a truly valuable right. It makes me more grateful to Vernault for moving forward with the listing, and to Ronnie for finishing the product.

"Dear Eames, thank you for your kind guidance. I'm going to give you a little tour before you go home."

I didn't intend to stay long, so I know it would be convenient for me to return.

But this is the only collection of books, I'd like to see just a little bit and go home - Cordelia thanked Clive as she thought so.

I asked for guidance, but it would be bad to let Clive hang out any longer. Even he should have finished his guiding role.

But Clive frowned at Cordelia's words like that.

"Even if I refrain, even if it's inconvenient?

"No, especially. But Master Eames is busy, isn't he?

"That won't matter to you."

"Is that so? Now, I have nothing to say in particular… I will give you a tour"

Cordelia thought it would be helpful if we could have a conversation to make it a little easier to respond, although we were gradually getting used to Clive's story. I seem to have been merely a caretaker when it comes to what I cared for, but I'm concerned that no matter what you say like this, it sounds like you're buying a fight.

(Not that I want to make a good impression... but I'm also a little surprised that they seem to have a back no matter what they say so far)

While I don't think that makes us feel very good about it, Cordelia decided to think it was each other because she also uses Clive as a means to get away from the prince.

It would mean being watched for once, but it's not enough to care because Clive won't be harming Cordelia directly, and if he doesn't open his mouth, he won't be able to think behind his remarks. You can be very satisfied.

Cordelia looked around with that in mind.

Then I was able to find a guide board right around the corner.

(Is the book about plants on the first basement floor?)

Cordelia, approaching the information board, confirmed the intended location, and the internal map also hit her head, hurrying to the talks just a little bit. Clive followed Cordelia, although at a slight distance.

Corners of underground plants filled with books, just as on the ground floor, were still stocked with large volumes of books.

It is very easy to understand and organize in the wind: ornamental plant shelves, wild grass shelves, tree shelves.

Cordelia first chose what was within reach of it and flushed through it. Then I put it back on the shelf and take another book in my hand again. The work was repeated several times.

(... slightly different way of writing, but that just sounds like something about plants is excellent in my house too)

Due to the volume of books stored, it is clear that there is an overwhelming greater amount of material in the Great Bookshelf than in the Pameladian family's library with regard to other areas. But it still seems that the Pameladian family's book collection was quite wonderful when it came to plants - yes, it was when I thought.

"... clove?

Cordelia unexpectedly stopped her hand, which was turning the page, and opened her eyes to the name of that nostalgic herb. And look closely at the tree painting, the leaf painting, written next to the name. Probably no mistake. This is a clove Cordelia knows but has never been able to confirm its existence.

(Of course, if you don't try to get the real thing, you won't know...)

Still, to confirm that, we can't talk if we can't get the real thing in our hands first.

Cloves are the main agent of herbal medicine, a plant that has been known in Japan as Teiko.

It is also known as Bailika (Hiyakuriko) or Clove incense (this way) because it is said to be strong enough to reach 100 miles away.

In the history of the world in previous life, cloves have appeared from time to time.

In the Han Dynasty of China, for example, it was assumed that the directors cleansed their mouths with cloves when they conducted their affairs against the emperor, and I have read stories that the voyage ordered Magellan by the King of Spain during the Great Voyage was aimed at securing a route to acquire cloves. When I learned in school classes about the Great Voyage Era, I was surprised when I found a statement in Europe at the time that more than ten times the value of pepper was supposedly on the clove, especially since I heard that pepper was picked up among spices and went for Asia in search of pepper that was worth the same as gold.

(But at the time it was only produced in the Moluccas, because it was of high rare value... Was it?)

Such cloves were apparently served among royal marquis nobles at the end of the party, as were the popular sugar treats before spice fever heated.

There are various other things, including the record that it was used to prevent Japanese knives from rusting, but the scene where the most people in Cordelia's life would have known the scent would have been a dental hospital. That scent is due to clove oil.

If there is such a clove, I want to check the existence itself first. Cordelia ran her eyes at the description of the habitat with that in mind and was surprised again.

"This... part of Aunt Nilpama's territory, right..."

I can't believe cloves lived in my aunt's territory! Yes, Cordelia couldn't help but think. The territory of Weltoria is a relatively warm place in the southeast from the King's Capital, but not as high as the average temperature in the Molucca Islands.

(However, due to the magic of the earth even in the mountains near Wangdu, seasonal herbs sometimes bloom all year round, it shouldn't be strange if there are places that are also affected by magic)

For one thing, I want to make sure the next time I see Nilpama. No, let's send a letter with a greeting once before we meet.

It's possible Nilpama doesn't know herbs called cloves herself. But if Cordelia wishes, she may consider it to be more than just a niece's favor, it will lead to some benefit. If that happens, you'll be sure to look into it.

"It won't be as good as it was during the big voyage, but it can also be made into essential oils..., I knew I would ask my aunt to do it"

That's what I said, and I noticed a lot.

I accidentally saw it in my books and crushed myself as if it were my home library, but I wasn't alone here.

Cordelia slowly turned her face in the direction Clive stood, thinking she had.

……

"... sorry, was it a little noisy?

I can't tell Cordelia if it's because it made me uncomfortable, or if the look on Clive's face now is something normal. Clive didn't seem grumpy from the start, but now he doesn't seem to have a worse deadline.

"There's no one else here"

Inhospitable answers were returned to the queries I asked as I peered into the reaction.

Don't worry about it, does that mean? I don't know for sure, but I guess you don't have to worry if it wasn't the first thing you noticed.

(Still, it can be perceived around you as a loud freak talking to yourself, so we have to be careful here.)

With that in mind, Cordelia glanced at the statement about the clove all the way back to the shelf with the book in her hand. The book did not contain detailed uses or anything else, which now seemed to be to the extent of being recognized as a type of tree.

If there is a book of plants on the periphery of Weltoria's territory, perhaps some books have more detailed descriptions than they do now. And I see a book on the back cover that looks slightly like it up there.

……

I'm not saying I'm afraid of the high places, but I want to avoid people seeing me feet on the ladder with my dress. If you put your hands on the ladder in the first place, you can inevitably get your dress dirty.

Cordelia decided to give up once she had let her thoughts wander a little. Unfortunately, I can ask Clive to do just that. You should come in the outfit where you can climb the ladder at a later date, or you should come with Ronnie and get it.

"Thank you. I'll be back."

"Really?"

Then Clive said, "Come here," then turned his heel back.

Apparently, it will also show you the way home, but from what I've seen, they think you might be able to return to the Prince. But whatever the reason, I appreciate it for Cordelia.

"Thank you"

"No. By the way, why did you think I was from the Eames family? I don't think I've seen you before."

Cordelia was surprised as the question continued to Clive's reply, which I thought would end in exactly one word.

But speaking of which, I still recall that you weren't named.

"It seems His Highness is calling you by the name of Lord Clive. Because I knew (one after another) that the children of the Eames family were on your side. I apologize for calling you on your own initiative."

"I didn't know you were listening. Where?

"It's your ladies' tea party. Sometimes my aunt will be there for me."

Cordelia responded to what Cyrus had previously heard, laying low, hoping not to ask in depth.

At first I thought I would also say what Cyrus was hearing, because the possibility of disgust turned my head while I started answering.

(Master Clive thinks I'm after the Prince's Queen... in other words, he thinks I'm obsessed with power, doesn't he? So... I don't know if maybe, but there's also the possibility that they think you're looking at Master Clive as a 'husband candidate when the prince couldn't...'?

Cordelia also understands that she may be thinking without clapping herself.

But I also feel that this response is not an unlikely story.

(But if that kind of suspicion does arise, I know how you want to be sure, even if it gets a little persistent. Even Master Clive will want to know who's dangerous.)

But if it is as I imagined it would be, it is a grand misunderstanding.

But I can't even deny it any more than Clive hasn't said such a thing. This is a very troubling situation. When I wanted to change the subject quickly, but couldn't find the topic early... Cordelia remembered having one doubt.

"Speaking of which, how could Master Vernault refer to Master Eames as Master Clay?

Even though I knew Clive was on Sylvester's side, a person named Clay didn't associate with Clive. It may be nicknamed, but Clive and Vernault don't really look like they're close. If it's possible, on the one hand, it means Vernault is familiar with Clive...

"I don't know."

"... Really?"

Clive responded to Cordelia's question with a truncating voice.

I don't know if this is because I don't like the way it's called, or because Vernor's name came up in the first place.

However, when I mouthed Vernault's name, it came to mind that Cordelia might tell him one thing.

"It will be a personal matter, but today, Master Vernault told me that my father's face seemed scared, angry"

"What's wrong with that?"

"I consider my father a very calm and lovely man. When I was young, I used to say 'I want to marry someone like your father' to get me in trouble. And yet, that's rude, isn't it?"

Elvis was superficially unresponsive when Cordelia made this statement at the age of three, so it may be somewhat misleading in this way, but it is also not a total lie. But Cordelia herself understands that it is still a subtle statement.

(But I can't help it. Something that I don't want to make a good impression on Dear Clive, but this makes it too difficult to have a conversation)

It is good to see from Clive that he does not seem worthy of the Prince's Queen. So if there doesn't seem to be a problem, I'm prepared to close my eyes even if they say or do something somewhat rude, except when it comes to being so obvious. It doesn't matter if you don't have someone else's eyes, but if you use this interaction in public, you may have problems with Cordelia's personality, or you may be mistaken for a troublemaker.

(If you affirm that you prefer a type like your father, it will tell you that you are not interested in Mr. Clive or Mr. Sylvester)

While I wish Clive had been a youngster who would have responded a little more relaxed, I would have to feel grateful for just creating an incentive to exit from before Sylvester earlier.

For now, that's fine if Clive understands that as Cordelia, I'm not a dangerous person, or a candidate for the Prince's Queen.

It seems Cordelia's remarks were unexpected for Clive, and he was so open to the loss of wrinkles between his eyebrows.

And he muttered.

"You've had an unusual taste, haven't you?"

The voice color is obviously different from earlier, and the stabbing is lost.

Instead, Cordelia was also full of her back to hold back her cheeks from pulling over to the sounds that were somewhat worrying or even sympathetic.

(This guy called me like Master Vernault, but rather not like Master Vernault)

At all, what the hell do we all think people's fathers are?

Cordelia couldn't help but think so.
