On the 400th floor of the Alliance Mansion, Secretary Qiao carefully explained what United Pharmaceutical needed to do next.

Winning first place at the summit wasn’t easy. The process was arduous, and now that they had won, they needed to quickly live up to the title.

"But your actions have proven that United Pharmaceutical is more suited for this responsibility than the other four major corporations. Go back and get to work. The Alliance needs S-Class Potion production capacity restored."

"The Alliance has an annual procurement quota for S-Class Potions, and it must be met."

Secretary Qiao continued to brief Lin Qi and Liu Xuan on many other matters.

The briefing lasted for nearly an hour, not ending until it was almost midnight.

He saw the two of them to the elevators of the Alliance Mansion.

"Don’t worry, Secretary Qiao. United Pharmaceutical will dispatch its most professional team to liaise on the upcoming matters."

Liu Xuan was extremely adept at handling corporate affairs, a clear sign she had been groomed for it since childhood.

Secretary Qiao nodded upon hearing Liu Xuan’s words.

He picked up on something else in her response.

Reading between the lines, it seemed United Pharmaceutical was positioning itself to break away from Liu’s Heavy Industries. Although the two were currently close, when it came to core corporate strategy, Liu Xuan had no intention of relying on them.

"Well, that’s interesting."

After seeing Lin Qi and Liu Xuan into the elevator, Secretary Qiao muttered to himself.

He then went to the room where Qiao Xi was resting to report his findings.

Qiao Xi nodded, not saying much.

But deep down, he believed this was most likely related to the Wizard.

’It seems the Wizard’s relationship with the Liu Clan isn’t close. His true gambit is just United Pharmaceutical.’

’Pharmacy? It seems the Wizard has been focusing a great deal of his energy on it lately.’

The intelligence on the "Wizard" was too fragmented.

Liu Xuan looked at Lin Qi, her gaze more direct than it had been back in Red Fruit City.

Lin Qi nodded. "Perfect. I can get a few days of rest. The company doesn’t give enough days off."

Liu Xuan didn’t think Lin Qi was implying anything by this.

Instead, she asked, "Will you... actually rest?"

Hearing her question, Lin Qi’s mouth opened slightly, but no words came out.

’Rest?’

’I really don’t have time to rest.’

’Although I haven’t heard from Guang Ling yet, I estimate the final operation will probably happen in the next few days.’

’With pressure mounting from all sides, Ninghang Technology is bound to make a move.’

He needed to keep his secrets, both his Extraordinary Profession as a Wizard and his identity as a member of a Highest-Level Mercenary Corps.

He might be willing to pay a certain price to help Liu Xuan.

But Lin Qi wouldn’t cross certain lines of principle.

Lin Qi adjusted his expression and said, "Of course I’m going to get some proper rest."

Seeing his reaction, the purple light in Liu Xuan’s left eye suddenly flared a little brighter.

Then she said to Lin Qi, "The company’s days off are definitely too few. You worked hard for the summit. Get some proper rest for the next couple of days."

She paused before adding, "Alliance City most likely won’t be safe for a while. You need to be careful."

Liu Xuan was serious about that last part.

Although the summit was over, the matter involved four major corporations. The reshuffling of the entire Asian Administrative Region’s pharmaceutical industry was just beginning.

It was just like what had happened to her in the summit simulation earlier that day.

The contests between major corporations weren’t limited to business tactics. Assassinations, and even war, were always possibilities.

The Eastern Alliance restrained open corporate warfare, and while actions like assassination had become less frequent in recent years, that was only because of the Successor Bill.
