Chapter 353 - 243: Interrogation (2)
He gave a few instructions regarding the spacecraft.
The spacecraft was from King Arthur. According to what she’d said before, all the spacecraft on her end were old stock.
While there were many, there might not be any identical models.
After giving his instructions to Wang Ziru, Lin Qi walked out of the Club Activity Building.
His destination was clear as he headed toward the nine unconscious Moon Worshipers.
The nine Moon Worshipers were inside the Mo University Camp. Since they weren’t far, Lin Qi quickly reached their location.
They had been unconscious for over twelve hours, and a few had even woken up during that time.
Unfortunately for them, Lin Qi had kept the area covered with his Spiritual Vision while he was in Meditation.
The moment they woke up, they would immediately pass out again from a lack of blood to the brain.
Lin Qi’s Spiritual Power spread out, forming several invisible tentacles that quickly wrapped around them. He then started walking toward Wei Yue’s building.
Anyone watching along the way would have seen an odd sight: Lin Qi walking at a leisurely pace, with nine unconscious strangers floating in the air beside him.
...
Seeing Lin Qi arrive, Wei Yue instantly breathed a sigh of relief. "Was it a success?" she asked.
The building holding the Moon Worshipers was a good distance from the Club Activity Building, and Wang Ziru hadn’t yet had time to dispatch a team to notify her.
Lin Qi nodded. "It should buy us at least two months. That should be enough time for me to advance to Tier Four. Tier Four Extraordinary Professions possess power on the level of the will itself. When that happens, I might be able to resolve your concerns once and for all."
This was the good news Wei Yue had been desperately waiting for.
But amid her joy, Wei Yue also noticed the nine people floating behind Lin Qi.
"Are they Moon Worshipers?"
As a Half-Step Blood Moon Envoy, Wei Yue instantly discerned their identities.
Not only that, but she also saw more details. "And none of them are original Moon Worshipers. So there really are other original Moon Worshipers in Modu."
Lin Qi was a little surprised. He honestly couldn’t tell if they were original members or not.
But his entire purpose in bringing them to Wei Yue was to gather more intelligence.
Lin Qi was concerned about one thing in particular: how did they know the Mo University Camp had a Tier Five Extraordinary Item and was preparing a launch?
’Was it through the whispers of the Blood Moon on the Extraordinary plane?’
’Or was it through other means?’
The answer was crucial for Lin Qi to gauge the scale of the Moon Worshipers’ forces.
"I need you to use your status as a Blood Moon Envoy to interrogate them when they wake up. I’ll be observing from the shadows."
"I need to know..."
Lin Qi explained what he needed to Wei Yue, who nodded quickly in agreement.
She was more than happy to help Lin Qi; after all, he was her only hope of escaping the Blood Moon’s influence.
Lin Qi placed the nine Moon Worshipers in an empty classroom, then went into the adjacent room.
Wei Yue, along with the only two Moon Worshipers remaining in the Mo University Camp, stayed in the room with them.
Although these two hadn’t ideologically betrayed the Blood Moon, they were kept in line by Wei Yue’s suppressive power and were currently considered obedient.
...
Su He was a Moon Worshiper, the first to follow his "Boss." Ever since the apocalypse began, they had hidden within the city, living quite comfortably.
But today, while carrying out a special mission on his boss’s orders, he’d been ambushed.
He’d been attacked!
And more than once!
Three times, in fact!
Every time he had just woken up and tried to stand, the world would suddenly spin, and he would black out before passing out again.
This was the third time he had woken up.
This time, he noticed his surroundings seemed different.
His body felt partially paralyzed, but Su He struggled to lift his head.
It was a classroom, and the lights were on.
’Wait...’
’Lights?’
’There’s electricity?’
’Hasn’t the power been out for ages?’
’Could it be... I’ve been reborn?’
But then, Su He saw the front of the room. A woman who looked to be in her twenties was sitting on the teacher’s desk, flanked by two standing men.
’This girl’s actually pretty good-looking...’
His head still felt fuzzy as he made the subconscious assessment.
But he couldn’t shake the inexplicable, oppressive feeling emanating from the woman.
"How audacious! You dare disrespect the Blood Moon Envoy!"
The bellowed reprimand jolted Su He to his senses.
The speaker was Cai Chang, one of the two remaining Moon Worshipers under Wei Yue’s command.
Su He’s eyes widened as he took a closer look at the scene before him.
Only then did his mind fully clear. He saw that his crewmates around him were still unconscious; he was the first one to wake up.
As for the three people at the front of the classroom...
Su He sensed a familiar aura from the two men on the left and right.
’My own kind!’
’Moon Worshipers!’
’As for the woman in the center...’
He sucked in a sharp breath.
’A Blood Moon Envoy?!’
’Isn’t that the legendary being the boss always talked about?’
’It was said that this very mission was arranged by a Blood Moon Envoy.’
"Greetings, Blood Moon Envoy! I didn’t realize this was your territory. Had I known, I would never have dared to set foot here..."
Su He dropped to his knees without hesitation.
Even though the aftereffects of the oxygen deprivation still affected his body, his kneeling posture was perfect, his head bowed to the floor.
Watching this scene unfold through his Spiritual Vision from the next room, Lin Qi wasn’t surprised.
This was all within his expectations. Wei Yue was a Half-Step Blood Moon Envoy, after all; her suppressive presence was more than enough to dominate an ordinary Moon Worshiper.
Lin Qi was using Wei Yue’s status to confuse these Moon Worshipers, preventing them from intentionally withholding information during the upcoming interrogation.
Wei Yue, mentally prepared, spoke. "I will ask the questions. You will answer."
Under Lin Qi’s watchful gaze, the interrogation began.
Wei Yue: "Who is your Moon Summoner? Did he arrange this operation?"
Su He: "I don’t know my boss’s name. We met playing games at an internet cafe. He’s the Moon Summoner for all nine of us. And yes, the boss arranged this operation."
Wei Yue: "What was the objective of the operation?"
Su He: "According to the boss, he told us to search Mo University. He said there might be a rocket here, and our mission was to destroy it."
Hearing this, Lin Qi frowned.
’They mentioned the rocket directly. That means their intelligence is extremely specific.’
Wei Yue continued her questioning. "How did your boss know there was a rocket in Mo University?"
Su He looked a little suspicious upon hearing this question.
But the aura emanating from Wei Yue was unmistakable.
After only a few seconds of hesitation, Su He decided to tell the truth.
"According to the boss, he’s in contact with a Blood Moon Envoy. This mission was given to us by that Envoy."
’A Blood Moon Envoy!’
Hearing those three words, Wei Yue’s pupils contracted slightly.
’So, a true Blood Moon Envoy has already appeared in this apocalypse.’
’That means Tier Four Monsters have already appeared in some regions, and those places have completely fallen.’
Though her emotions were in turmoil, Wei Yue remembered Lin Qi’s instructions.
She continued, "A Blood Moon Envoy? That’s news to me. I wasn’t aware any other Blood Moon Envoys besides myself had emerged in this apocalypse..."
Wei Yue’s tone rose, becoming much sharper.
When your own intelligence is lacking, go on the offensive. It was a classic interrogation tactic.
Hearing this, Su He scrambled to explain. "My... My Lady, I don’t know! I’ve never seen the Blood Moon Envoy who contacts my boss..."
Su He was terrified. The suppressive power a Blood Moon Envoy—even a Half-Step one—held over a Moon Worshiper was immense.
Compounded by his own psychological state, the pressure he felt from Wei Yue was even more powerful.
Su He suddenly remembered something and blurted out, "I have proof! I know how the boss contacts that Blood Moon Envoy... no, that *fake* Blood Moon Envoy!"
"A locomotive! The railroad tracks! It’s in the tunnel near the Shui’an Mingju District! Every three days, the boss receives a letter from the Blood Moon Envoy!"
...
Upon hearing this, Lin Qi’s expression suddenly turned grave.
’A locomotive!’
’Railroad tracks!’
’Letters!’
’Intelligence!’
’A Blood Moon Envoy!’
These words, linked together, instantly gave Lin Qi a bad feeling.
’Was the intel leaked from Headquarters? Or is there a problem with one of the nodes in Headquarters’ railway system...?’
