"This is a prototype I built in my early years. It’s not too complex, just a bit nostalgic to see it again."

Liu Xuan responded to Xu Qinghe with a smile, though her description of it as "not too complex" was a bit of an understatement.

"Oh, really? I see."

Although Xu Qinghe possessed the Ability of X-ray Vision, her knowledge of Prosthetic Bodies and machinery was purely at a hobbyist level. Having never studied the underlying theory, she had no idea just how complex the machine before her truly was.

Xu Qinghe didn’t dwell on it and continued touring the prototype exhibition hall with Liu Li leading the way.

Lin Qi and Liu Xuan were still following a short distance behind them, walking in silence.

Liu Li drew upon her lifetime of knowledge, explaining everything in a constant, flowing stream of words.

When she glanced back, Liu Li saw that Xu Qinghe had fallen several steps behind. Further back, both Liu Xuan and Lin Qi were also standing frozen in place.

Xu Qinghe was holding a terminal that looked like an antique cellphone, while Lin Qi and Liu Xuan’s eyes were unfocused, as if they were reading something.

"Little Sister Qinghe, Sister Liu, Lin Qi, what are you all doing?"

Liu Li asked curiously. ’Their movements are a little too synchronized, aren’t they?’

’Could it be that the three of them started a group chat without me while I wasn’t looking?’

Lin Qi was a bit stunned. He had just received three consecutive emails.

They were from the Asian Political Zone Big Business Alliance, the Eastern Alliance, and a Highest-Level secure mailbox, respectively!

The three emails arrived almost simultaneously.

Before he had a chance to read them, Lin Qi noticed something was off with Liu Xuan.

’Liu Xuan seems to be reading something too?’

’Could it be...?’

Before Lin Qi could say a word, Liu Xuan beat him to it. "You got emails too?"

Liu Xuan definitely wasn’t asking about the one from Guang Ling. Lin Qi nodded. "The Big Business Alliance and the Eastern Alliance both sent me emails simultaneously, and they look... unusual."

Extremely unusual!

In Lin Qi’s inbox, both emails were marked in red, signifying their importance.

This was the first time in recent years Lin Qi had received such an email.

The last time he had received an email like this was Guang Ling’s invitation for him to join the Mercenary Corps.

It seemed that sending such emails required special permissions.

Hearing Lin Qi and Liu Xuan speak, Xu Qinghe, who was walking ahead, whipped her head around in surprise. "Sister Liu, you got one too? I thought it would just be me and Lin Qi. Yours can’t be an invitation related to the Pharmacy Domain, can it?"

Xu Qinghe seemed to have already finished reading the email, or perhaps she had only glanced at its appearance to confirm its contents.

At Xu Qinghe’s question, Lin Qi and Liu Xuan finally began to read their emails.

Lin Qi read the three emails in order.

[Asian Political Zone Big Business Alliance - Permanent Council: Greetings, S-Class Pharmaceutical Researcher Lin Qi. You are formally invited to participate in the World Peace Conference on April 16. You will represent the Pharmacy industry of the Asian Administrative Region and attend sub-meetings in related fields. Your travel expenses will be covered by the Big Business Alliance. You are required to arrive on time at World City, in the Antarctic Administrative Region, to complete your check-in. Should you be absent for personal reasons and thereby cause financial loss to the Asian Political Zone Big Business Alliance, you will be required to provide full compensation...]

The first email was an invitation from the Asian Big Business Alliance.

’Another summons to a meeting!’

And though it was called an "invitation," it was clearly a mandatory summons, leaving no room for refusal.

Lin Qi frowned and read the second email:

[Eastern Alliance, Division of Asian Administrative Region Affairs: S-Class Pharmaceutical Researcher Lin Qi, congratulations on becoming the youngest Pharmaceutical Researcher in history. We presume you have already received the invitation from the Big Business Alliance. Please be sure to attend and check in within the stipulated time, as per the invitation’s requirements. For specific questions regarding the conference, you may consult your affiliated enterprise. Detailed instructions have been sent via email...]

The second email was from the Eastern Alliance. Its wording wasn’t as formal as the first, but the two words "Eastern Alliance" were enough for Lin Qi to feel their weight.

The higher one’s position in the Asian Administrative Region, the more one could feel the Eastern Alliance’s influence over this area.

The ties between the Eastern Alliance and the Big Business Alliance ran extremely deep.

His brow still furrowed, Lin Qi moved on to the last email. ’Guang Ling sending an email right now... it has to be related to the first two.’

[Highest-Level Secure Mailbox: Wizard, you should have received the Big Business Alliance’s invitation. You’re to represent the Asian Administrative Region’s Pharmacy Domain and compete for the region’s Weight at the peace conference. The outcome of this conference will determine the ultimate scale of the ongoing Third Corporate War. The Highest-Level Mercenary Corps will likely be taking on more than one mission in World City, and I hope you’ll be involved. Therefore, I will provide you with as much support as possible for your trip to World City...]

Just as he thought, Guang Ling’s email was about the same thing. But compared to the formal invitations from the first two, Guang Ling’s felt more like... a teaser trailer.

A teaser trailer for trouble!

’What is Guang Ling planning now? According to the email, the number of bigwigs pulling the strings this time is probably terrifyingly high.’

’He wants me to represent Asia’s Pharmacy Domain and compete for Weight? That means Pharmacy is just one piece of the puzzle. It’s bound to bring together all the top Pharmaceutical Researchers from across the globe. Among that group alone, I bet there will be more Tier Four individuals than I can count on two hands.’

’Guang Ling wants to stir up trouble at an event like this? He must be insane.’

Lin Qi didn’t reply to Guang Ling. Instead, he closed the emails and looked over at Liu Xuan.
