Lesson 1: The noise in front of the Imperial Gate

Grevar, the empire capital of the Glenvarga Empire.

The city surrounded by large walls had gates in four locations, east, west and north, and the streets leading to the gates continued in uneven rows for identification to enter the imperial capital.

When I looked at the gate from the rear of the line, I saw the gatekeeper standing in a potpound because there were not only people lined up, but also carriages.

"Why is it so crowded?

"There are several possible reasons"

Melissa answers my whining as usual.

"The Empire is understaffed in the Spring Wars. I guess that's why the number of gatekeepers is also lacking. Then it seems crowded because there are many people visiting the Empire for the same reasons we do."

Our purpose.

It was to attend an auction that would be held in Teito.

You may not participate in an auction unless you are a person with a legend against nobility or nobility. There is also a mixture of those in the line who only look like merchants and adventurers. Maybe some of them really include people with handouts, but they can't all have them.

I don't think everyone in this line is the person involved.

"Of course everyone is involved. The auction also brings together aristocrats and others from other countries. That's the perfect place for merchants to be, and adventurers come together for jobs."

"I see."

In other words, people gathered for the purpose by auction.

He came to Imperial Capital in relation to the auction without any direct involvement.

"It's none of our business."

Ignore the people in line and walk to the side.

It was a gate that catered for many people, but next to it was a gate that was round and wide.

There were few but rows in front of that gate, so they lined up at the rear of it. This line won't take long to get inside the capital.

"Hey, Kisama."

At the end of the line there was a carriage waiting, and a person in small, fat and flashy clothes in the carriage came talking from above.

"What is it?

"It is only the aristocratic gates that line this line"

I can't believe I'm arranging nobility with merchants and adventurers. In a big city like Imperial City, there's a gate dedicated to nobility like this.

Originally, it was meant to enter the Imperial Capital without causing it to wait, but because of the number of aristocrats invited, it was not enough to set up a dedicated gate.

"Thanks for the advice. Of course I know and I'm in line."

There's no way Melissa, who lived in the Wang capital, was unfamiliar with the circumstances around it.

We have the right to stand in line at the gates dedicated to nobility from the beginning.

"... well. Doesn't he look like a nobleman?

The little fat man who says so sounds like a nobleman.

The outfit is flashy and I see several squire figures in the carriage.

"Yes, I'm an adventurer"

"Then shouldn't we wait until tomorrow in the next row?

"I knew..."

If you line up next door, will you be able to enter the capital by the end of the day?

I've come a long way, so if it's possible, I'd like to rest in an inn in the capital.

"This is why civilians are in trouble"

A man returns to the carriage who appears to be a nobleman who mistakenly believed that he had convinced me of my whining.

But he came right back.

"Why, I'll always be in line!?

I was angry not to move the line.

"We are adventurers. But I've been invited, so they say it's okay to line up here."

"Yeah, there's no reason for that."

I don't know why you get so angry, but when the noble man gave the instructions, a noble soldier who was escorting the carriage came pointing his weapon at you.

Clearly, it does not pose a threat at all.

If they pointed the weapon at me, it was going to be a collision around Ira, but I was about to get bored with my hands behind my head.

"Oh, I think I'm here."

Ira squeaks, looking all the way at the gate, even though she seems bored.

Looks like someone came out to meet me.

"What's all this noise!

A soldier from Imperial Capital came to hear the noise sooner than that.

"Even though these guys aren't nobles, they're in a line dedicated to nobility!

"Really..."

The nobleman's words are correct if he does not know the circumstances.

A soldier who hears his claims walks up to us.

"I'm sorry, but this row cannot be used unless it is noble. Adventurer - If you're a civilian, would you use the next line?

"What happens if we are invited by someone who has power among the Empire?

"What...?

Soldiers who are surprised to see us.

I don't need to fix anything anymore, so I'll leave it to you.

"I'm sorry. They're our invitees."

Girl with orange hair who rushed in from the gate.

This is Marie, who will be a sideroom member of Rio's next emperor.

"What about you?

I'm Marie.

He was only presenting something like an ID to a soldier while he was naming it.

Marie's outfit still uses things from when she was acting as an adventurer, and while it's not unnatural to be in the city, soldiers don't know what it means for adventurers to show up in situations like this.

But the soldier who was shown what Mr. Marie showed was surprised as he sweated.

"Also, I'm sorry. I didn't know you were like that."

"No, I'm just loyal to my job, so don't worry about it either."

"Ha."

A soldier saluting Mr. Marie.

The soldier was quite a veteran, so he was familiar with ID cards, etc.

"Well, shall we go?"

Mr. Marie walks up to the gate, ignoring rows reserved for nobility.

"Um, okay?

I am invited by the next emperor, so I have the right to line up exclusively for nobility.

They are told to go to the Imperial City in advance and to arrive today using the magic tool "Far Tale Crystal".

At that time, I was told not to worry because I would also pick him up and wait in line, so I did not hesitate to be in a line dedicated to nobility.

But I even ignored that line.

"Exactly. Not without me, but I decided to use my power. I have the equivalent of an emperor, stronger than a nobleman."

Anyway, the other person is the Emperor's sideroom.

You have a lot of power, even if you can't talk politically.

"What I showed the soldier earlier is also a sign that he is an emperor's associate."

"Can I use that stuff?

"That's okay. No matter how fast the rows dedicated to nobility are, just lining up on something like this will crush hours. Tomorrow, you have someone I want you to have, so I want you to get some rest in the hotel I booked earlier today."

The fact that so many people are lined up just to enter the capital means that there will be more people in the capital.

In the meantime, the chances of securing a place to rest are low.

It is purely helpful that Marie has secured the accommodation for me.

"Hey, why are they ignoring the guy in line and moving on?"

"They are invitees of His Majesty the Emperor."

"What...!

An aristocratic man is astonished.

I was also surprised to see it for the first time.

Design with silver dagger.

It is a token that only those authorized among the emperors and the royal family were allowed to possess it.

Significant changes were made with regard to the succession to the throne by the war waged earlier in the spring. As a result, the royal family, which had previously been allowed to possess it, was no longer allowed to possess it.

Currently, the next emperor is allowed to have it.

And only those wives.

The woman who had it must mean that she was someone in the sideroom of the next emperor.

Apparently, the next emperor talked about the rise of a royal family that had low inheritance rights to the throne that made him an adventurer, and all the party members had siderooms because it was a women's harem party except the next emperor.

She only looked like a civilian...... actually a civilian. Still, it doesn't change that it's a side chamber.

It has unparalleled power compared to the nobility in front of it.

"Oh, you think those people are invitees to the emperor...?

An adventurer invited to the next emperor who was a former adventurer.

"I hope there's nothing..."

There's a lot of noise in the Imperial Capital right now, and I'm pretty sure the waves are waiting.
