Lesson 8: Labyrinth Stream Interrogation - The Beast
"Ugh..."
One of the captured bandits woke my eyes.
"Is this...?
Looking around, I didn't know what situation I was in right now to a completely different sight than where I was before I passed out.
But I knew someone nearby, so I'll just wake him up.
"Hey!"
The other three, who had passed out after shaking her body several times, also woke her eyes.
"... What is this place?
I don't know.
First I woke my eyes. Bandits say kick ass.
We see dense forests spreading across where we are.
But you can't go there.
"Come on, it's the beginning of a fun interrogation time"
"Ha!?
A captured bandit speaks out of surprise.
"Do you guys remember where and what you were doing before you passed out?
"Only where Ajito was raided and escaped..."
"That's right. That woman hit me..."
That woman is either Sylvia or Illis.
I'm angry when I hear that word, but I don't have to worry about being attacked because the two people who are being seen in the face aren't here.
"Yes, you are supposed to have been stunned by the hands of two women and trapped in a cage."
It was Sylvia and Illis blocking the exit of the bandit stronghold, but asked them to capture at least two of the bandits who had fled.
As a result, he succeeded in capturing four bandits.
The captured bandit was trapped in a cage set in dense forest field on the 45th floor underground of the labyrinth.
I just changed my taste because I thought that this interrogation was not the usual cemetery field but the dense forest field simply didn't let the undead attack me every time.
"What are you gonna do with us?
"Of course, I just caught him because I wanted to ask him something."
I'm getting permission from Mr. Rooty to take the four of them.
I don't care what I do with the bandits I capture because it was a request from the beginning, regardless of the life or death of the bandits.
"If you can give me the information I need to know, I'll take you from here to a safe place."
"Ha, what's a place like this?"
I guess it's easy for them to get out of the cage as well as survive out of the dense woods when they've lived as bandits.
... That's also the story if this is a normal dense forest.
"All I want to know is," Who, "" Why, "what was the name of the successor to the Gleasons?"
"Sorry, but I can't imitate betraying my collaborators"
They were the lower-end of the bandits, but they seem pretty mean.
"Then please"
Get out of the cage.
- Glagragra.
"Hih!"
The cage was shaking and the bandits were raising their frightened voices.
I immediately realized why the cage was shaking. Something is leaning against the cage. What the bandits in the cage look like are more giant than their furry own.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you, that cage wasn't meant to keep you locked up. I've prepared something to protect you."
From what?
I would have understood that at the moment when the creature that was leaning against the cage came down from the cage and looked at each other.
A tiger-shaped demon was in front of the cage.
"Smilodon, the most powerful demon in this middle class."
Smilodon - a tiger-shaped demon with sharp fangs left and right like a sword that, when eaten, uses fangs as it is to despair. Very ferocious demons. Strong enough that even veteran adventurers can't get ahead of the 45th floor because they can't beat Smilodon.
The saliva is dripping from the mouth of Servel Tiger in the fresh meat I have seen for a long time.
Usually I can only eat meat given regularly from the labyrinth because I can't get out of the boss room. This time he was accompanying me at my request, which meant he was free to move around near me.
"Hih!"
Smilodon is poking a cage with his leg.
Not as fangs on the legs, but sharp claws and bandits can kill you just for plundering.
I said, "What's a tiger demon?"
"There's more than a tiger."
The grass shakes away from the gutter.
When I give instructions to come out, despite the fact that Smilodon is there and scared, various demons show up, such as a giant bear, a snake that looks like it could be more than five meters long, and a monkey big enough not to even take a pull on a bear.
All of this has as much power as it can instantly kill the bandits.
"Have you figured out the situation?
I just tremble my rattled body and don't react.
"I don't get attacked by demons for a reason - I'm going to free the cage"
"Nah!?
"If you're going to answer my question honestly, I can carry you to a safe place for every cage, but what do we do?
The bandits in the cage face to face.
We are not on the same level as the beasts and demons we have come to relate to. Whatever you think, you couldn't have survived out of the cage.
Once again, we understood that the cage was protecting us.
"Okay. I'll be honest."
Instruct the nearby demon to step back.
Looks like you understood I could give instructions to the demon when you saw the sight.
Explain on behalf of one of the bandits.
"It was around last spring that those guys first showed up before us."
"Who are those guys?
"One is a guy in his 40s or so with gray hair. The other one's about ten years old, green hair, blue eyed bows."
A combination of middle-aged men and boys.
"What kind of guys?
"Uh..."
It is not fragrant to ask about the face.
I almost wore a hood when I came into contact with the bandits, so I'm not seeing my face. I could just check the color of my hair and eyes that I could peek into from the shadow of the hood from time to time. The leader told me and knew that the other guy was a middle-aged man and a boy.
"They were attacking merchants as bandits, making money, and when they came to us, they said," Why don't you hire me because I'll give you the money? "
"So, you said you were hired?
"Because they put a bunch of bags full of gold coins!
"Something like this?
"That's right!
Remove the bag filled with fifty pieces of gold from the storage ring and show it.
I would have had quite a fortune if I had any of this.
"Why did you name the successor to the Gleasons?
"Osama was mostly negotiating with us, but Osama says Bowes seems to be the boss's stash who was putting the Gleasons together. So the assets of the Gleasons were something that Bowes should inherit, and he wanted me to hire him to take them back."
"Chip, troublesome"
The Hidden Child of Salma Gleason.
The Gleasons were making money by illegal means. Sometimes it looks like he even pretended to be a burglar at dangerous opponents in exchange for exorbitant rewards and carried out raids and even undertook assassinations.
They actually set me up with an assassination, so I gave it back.
He was treated the same way as a bandit because there was considerable damage. For this reason, the property they owned is identifiable to the owner, and everything belongs to the crusader except such things as must be returned to the owner.
There is nothing inherited.
"Where are they?
There was no such person among the bandits who crusaded.
All I know is that after I fled to the border, I came to the nearby city to gather my strength.
Alistair.
Two people who just look like normal fathers and sons.
It is also likely that the gatekeeper has passed without any particular concern.
I don't know what you're up to lurking in Alistair, but I don't know what action you're going to take if you find out the bandits are no longer functioning, the power you were counting on.
"That's all we know."
Other bandits are nodding.
There seems to be no other information that might be useful.
"Okay. Release me, but never tell anyone what happened here."
"Oh, never say... that?
He goes unconscious and falls flabby.
[Labyrinth Magic: Sleep (Sleep)]. I'm going to liberate you, but it's troublesome to be searched for information such as where this place is, so I decide to throw it in the right place with it asleep.
Then also curse to make the promise perfect.
"All right, we're gonna throw these guys out near where the bandits were."
Left under the cold winter skies could have frozen to death, but I don't feel the need to worry about him that much because he's a bandit.
"Are you sure?
"What?
"I'd rather dispose of it crisply to say no to my hindsight worries..."
"I promised you I'd release you to a safe place if you gave me the information."
Though I threatened you, I wanted to at least keep my word.
Maybe there's no point in this, but I didn't want to be an adult who broke my promise.
"I was supposed to be a father, too. I want to keep my word, whoever they are, if they are adults who are not ashamed of their children. No?"
Melissa was laughing when she heard my thoughts.
"No, if that's what the Lord has decided, the families will only respect it."
