Lesson 5: A Sailing Journey to the Kingdom of Memphis

Ships departing from the port town at the eastern end of the Principality of Ishgalia.

Using that ship, we were on our way to the Kingdom of Memphis with four of our party members, Mr. Mishrina and Mr. Claudia.

The destination is three days by sea and four days by land.

"The ocean as far as I can see, or..."

I don't see land ahead of me.

I can fly through the sky, but naturally I can only fly while my magic lasts and I keep using magic. When the magic runs out along the way, it will fall in the middle of the ocean.

Besides, I don't know where I'm going. I don't have anything to mark. I get lost in the ocean.

When I visited Savona before, I had only traveled within sight of the land, so it was not the first time I had come to the sea but the first sight I had seen.

"... hmm?

Mr. Mishrina grabbed by the handrail as he was taking a walk overlooking the sea on the deck of the ship and watching the sea.

The hand holding the handrail is tightly gripped.

"Are you all right?

"Is that you?"

With the sigh, Mr. Mishrina's body is out of strength.

"I can't help but be in a hurry."

"Were you in a hurry...... no, I was in a hurry. I want to rush under her and help her as soon as possible."

The opponent is in danger of death.

If you believe in the trust, it's over a week away that she dies. There must still be a respite.

But we're on our way to the Kingdom of Memphis to overthrow the trust.

You can't blindly trust a trust.

"How are all the others doing?

"I'm asking Sylvia to pack and stuff because it was a sudden departure. Melissa has collected information about the Kingdom of Memphis from sailors."

We don't know much about the Kingdom of Memphis.

I had never even visited Illis because it was far away, and Melissa had only about the knowledge from books I read at an early age.

They're gathering information in case something happens on the ground.

"Thank you very much."

"Suddenly what..."

"I came back to Winkia after my pilgrimage to the Temple. What I had in my hand was a letter from my best friend to inform me of his death. I wanted to help her somehow. But I can't help her without the ability to fight -"

I grab my hand again from remorse.

"There are things people can and cannot do, things they are good at and things they are not good at. You're good at healing people, but you can't exactly bring the dead back to life."

Nodding cocoon.

If I could do that, I would have used my powers more effectively at the time of the previous incident. But all she could do was purify the immortal and the land.

"Whenever I get stuck with the fact that I'm helpless, I'm like, 'What's my power for? It's driven by the thought."

"You don't even know."

Mainly run the labyrinth.

Nevertheless, the reality is almost left to the labyrinth nucleus and I'm not involved in fine operations.

Looking directly at the situation like that, he said, 'Wasn't there a better person?' Sometimes I have thoughts.

I have uncovered that concern in the labyrinth nucleus.

The answer returned from the labyrinth nucleus was simple.

- I'm glad you did. If you look at the current situation, you'll see.

Apparently, the labyrinth nucleus has a criterion for labyrinth nucleus, and he didn't give me any further answers. But I didn't object to my being the Lord.

"There's something you can do."

"For example?"

"Like responding to the kids' smiles"

What is evocative is the sight of two days ago.

My sisters attacked me as I tried to leave the mansion after hearing all sorts of stories about the witch's escort. I couldn't stand the sacred atmosphere Mr. Mishrina unleashed when he stormed me.

He shook hands in response to the children who had suddenly gathered, and as the Virgin, he had told the girls all sorts of stories.

Weren't you in a hurry?

I'm pretty sure I was actually in a hurry, but I use a ship to get around. In the unlikely event of a ship like the Virgin's, a robust passenger ship was to be prepared.

I needed a day to prepare for that.

I mean, only that day was she free, too.

I heard my answer. Mr. Mishrina was peeling a little.

"Are you dissatisfied?

"That's not why. When I was in the Principality, I used to visit the orphanage run by the temple with condolences, so I was used to that."

So, what's the grievance?

"I wanted the power to fight something if I could too. The power of 'Virgin' or 'Witch' is not directly suited to combat, so… knowing the crisis of a friend cannot help you"

I wish I could have said something to encourage you.

But I don't know what to say to her.

The ship starts to shake as we watch the sea silently from each other.

"Hey, what!?

Mr. Mishrina is in a hurry next door.

Calm your head and turn your consciousness around.

"... something is under the ship"

"Something?

Unfortunately, my ability to detect doesn't even tell who I am.

But I can see that there are demons.

"Your husband!

Sylvia rushes through the rocking ship.

It's so shaky that it's going to lose balance, but Sylvia stands next to me lightly.

"What's the situation?

"Nearly thirty sahaggins are gathering near the bottom of the ship."

"That's a lot..."

"Oh no! This route should be safe without demons coming out."

Maybe it was a safe route.

But we have to deal with demons more than they have appeared.

"Virgin, please return to the ship."

A sailor came out to the deck.

I was a sailor telling him to run, but it's already too late to let him get away.

Sahagin, who jumped out of the sea, appeared on the deck.

"Ku, damn......!

Pull out the sword the sailor was laying on his hips.

Sahagin is the demon of a half-fish man with a bamboo like a weapon.

Its eyes are glitchy and it is likely to swallow up all those still on the ship.

"How could you not have noticed this far?

"This route should have been a safe one with no demons. However, I had been wary of seeing strange shadows in the waters ahead of me for a few days, so I was reassured that I would be able to escape immediately, but that I was ahead of the waters in question"

I mean, I couldn't notice Sahagin's proximity because I was alarmed.

I pull out my sword, too.

"Please stay back"

I'll leave Sylvia with Mr. Mishrina's escort, turn around and break Sahagin's body as he storms this way.

Blood is scattered around the perimeter to contaminate the deck.

Sahagin's target turns to me when he sees the sight of his people being slaughtered and about to be attacked by sailors.

"Convenient."

It would be more helpful to target me than to help each and every sailor.

Five sahaggins that came at the same time at the right time.

When the sword is fanned through, the slash that flew away separates Sahagin's body up and down.

Magically shoot out four more sahaggins who were watching how things were going.

A vanguard unit that was quickly defeated.

"Often, you can jump this high"

Ten sahaggins jumped out of the sea and landed on the deck shortly after the vanguard unit was defeated.

And at the same time, the bodies of ten sahaggins were rolling.

All the twenty remaining sahaggins flew out to the deck at once, but half were magically shot through and desperate within nothing they could do.

"It's troublesome because you can't use flashy magic on a ship."

Using powerful magic on my level could only hurt the ship in the aftermath. We can't risk sinking, so we just have to end it with shot-based magic and melee combat that unleashes small bullets that don't worry about hurting the ship.

Sahagin panicking about a sudden attack.

Four sahaggins had been slaughtered by the time they managed to set up a maneuver.

"This way."

I don't have to turn around first.

When I wave my sword down from the side, I break both ways.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. That was all that

"Who is it?

"Looks like the Virgin brought you here, adventurer."

"I see."

Virgin, the word alone convinced me by the sailors.

But I still can't put my sword away.

"What's up?

"Still, there are demons"

You can't miss a big sign so far.
