Episode 14: The Esterbourg Labyrinth - Meadows

Eleventh basement floor in Esterbourg.

Meadows stretch from the eleventh to the twentieth floors, which can also be described as the second tier.

The same structure as Alistair and other labyrinths, but given the purpose for which the labyrinth was needed, there is no choice. In addition, it was not necessary because it would be a burden to force it to change.

Above all, it is necessary given the circumstances of Esterbourg.

"Looks like we can hunt beast shaped demons in this' Prairie Field '"

Illis tells me about the labyrinth at Adventurer's Guild in advance.

In the morning, he was free, so those who were free moved on their own.

I could afford that too...

"Are you okay?"

"... not okay at all"

I'm not feeling well, Sylvia.

I'm simply hungover.

"I'm going out because I'm drinking."

I couldn't help but drink because I was in a new land.

I drank too much out of curiosity.

The wine served at dinner was palatable and easy to drink, but because of it, it was incorrectly stopped.

By contrast, Noel, who got drunk, is kelloggy and flat to Melissa. We're both the same.

Sylvia was the only one who was ill, but I had to wait for her to recover at the very least because there was no reason not to take her alone in the exploration.

"If we go to the seventeenth basement, we can pick the grapes that were used in yesterday's wine. Because of this, you want to stop by?

Sylvia swinging her full and neck sideways.

"Let's make exploration a priority"

Grapes consume a lot and are in demand, but each and every one is not expensive, and the average adventurer can afford to explore them at about this depth.

It's a bit unfavourable to stand out.

"But" Prairie Field "is just like ours for food production."

A beast-shaped demon that many plants are native to and grow from eating it.

Both can be eaten by people.

"Exactly. However, if there is a difference..."

Illis turns his gaze away.

Distance and hard to see, but many beast-shaped demons form a line.

"No. A true beast, not a beast-shaped demon."

"What?"

I couldn't help but listen back.

But if you look at it again, it's the sheep that are lining up.

And at the head of the sheep is a young man who seems to be a shepherd.

Young people are livestock sheep in dangerous labyrinths.

"Often, you thought of doing such a dangerous imitation. No, how do you keep it?

The labyrinth must ensure that demons appear on its properties. When installing magic tools, it is possible to temporarily avoid attacking people by asking adventurers to escort or compromise, as in the case of Hanami, but just doing so consumes magic. It is not effective given management.

Demons can't help attacking if they see weaker beings than they are.

You can say you have no fighting power at all, such as sheep.

For demons, sheep are nothing but bait.

However, the fact that livestock is being carried out is a testament to the fact that it has not been attacked by demons.

"Look at this."

Spread the map of the labyrinth into the air in front of you.

We've already created a strategic map at the eleventh basement level.

"According to Guild's description, there's a safe area where demons don't strike. I was explained that it was possible because I was freeing it for my livestock."

Easy reason not to get attacked.

Only warm demons appear on the eleventh basement floor. Still, it doesn't strike people or beasts at all, so you need to be careful.

But it is possible to avoid warm demons.

Man came away from the demon by spreading the smell that the demon hated, or planting plants that would be poisonous to the demon. It's not unusual because such simple things have been done for a long time. It is normally done in rural areas in the countryside.

"But this labyrinth is managed"

To the extent that it does not inhibit the growth of the demon, flowers are planted extensively that produce the smell that the demon dislikes.

I can see the whole thing on the map.

"This is obviously a fence replacement."

No harm to humans.

There are no demons on this floor that would be of great benefit.

Peacefully obtaining meat is the hierarchy of purpose.

"I don't get meat, but I have a cool substitute"

Illis points to a point on the map.

When the place is enlarged, the growing plants are displayed.

- Kiki fruit.

It is a small yellow fruit attached to a flower, which is not a sour and edible substitute when kept in the mouth, but is very sweetened by processing.

It is a popular fruit for women.

However, it has become very difficult to obtain.

There are numbers because of their very high reproductive capacity, but they can only be grown in special environments such as the back of the forest. And because there are many demons in that place who like Kiki fruit, it is difficult to recover it unless you are also an adventurer.

But it's subtle to say if there's just enough reward to make it look dangerous.

We also grow up in Alistair's labyrinth, and being adventurers who don't need a lot of money, we regularly pick and pay the city, so we meet demand.

But it's a subtle thing to say if Esterbourg can fill it.

"Because the strong will go downstairs."

Now there's no such thing as a favorite adventurer.

For this reason, Ilis, who examined the purchase price beforehand, knew that Kiki's fruit was being traded at a high price.

"I mean, trying to hunt Kiki fruit and go"

"Sylvia's drunkenness will be just the right exercise for a complete reminder"

It's a little off the exit, but it's not like you can't afford to stop by.

"Well, let's go."

Run through the prairie.

Along the way, they encounter new adventurers collecting vegetables or something growing in the meadows, but they don't try to come into contact with each other just by looking at them in a faraway roll.

We're just running, but that speed alone tells us that we're stronger than ourselves.

"Here we are."

The destination was reached in more than a dozen minutes as it proceeded straight with reference to the map.

There, yellow flowers spread on one side, with yellow fruit under the flowers.

However, there are dozens of deer-shaped demons in front of the flower garden.

"Horn deer"?

A demon who is warm and doesn't like to fight. Escape even if you encounter an adventurer is your number one priority. But that's not the case if you get into your territory. They rush towards the two horns that grew out of their heads. Its power is tremendous, and it can be pierced by easy armor, and it can be bounced off and tapped to the ground.

Such a antler is rolling on the ground.

"That said, a lot of venison came out the first day I stayed at the Golden Fox Pavilion."

"That day, they had a magical abnormality on the eleventh basement floor, and they jumped out of the territory and it was tough,"

Behind where there is kiki fruit preferred by the antlers because of the mass outbreak, it has become rampaging around beyond where the grass hated by the antlers is growing.

However, thanks to a prior crusade request from the Adventurers Guild, he succeeded in crusading without damage to his livestock.

I have been rampant this way for so long, but every time it was crusaded by the hands of adventurers.

"So, what about these guys?

"Only demons out of the territory, or at risk of leaving, were the subject of a crusade request. It seems that the adventurers who took part in the crusade also did not hunt except for the crusade requested antlers, which are traded at high prices"

Demons who are the subject of crusade requests are also traded in materials such as meat and demon stones at higher prices than usual.

Looks like he didn't hunt after deciding it wasn't just a reward for the hard work.

"It's so easy to hunt."

Slash off the neck of the antler that came in.

Jumping to the side, he falls as his torso and top slide down the ground from his neck.

"I have no choice. Normally it's not this easy to hunt."

A horny deer who has been acting in herds for a long time.

I don't have to have a problem dealing with one of them. I'm not safe if they push me from behind.

But we can hunt in one blow, so we can contain the danger.

Ten minutes to continue such work in cooperation with Illis.

"You hunted it all down."

There are no antlers within sight.

The antlers are no longer nearby because if they get into their territory, they are supposed to come at them angrily.

"We're done collecting this one too"

The fruit of Kiki is firmly packed in Sylvia's embrace.

This will be enough.

"So, what do we get?

"It looks like bear meat is preferred as a luxury ingredient"
