Episode 10: Power Supply to Krashel - Previous

Krashel.

The city is located closest to the border with the Glenvarga Empire.

Above all, it was one of the familiar cities for the Mars because it was the birthplace of Illis.

Usually a city close to the Empire, it is crowded with many merchants from the rest of the merchants who are about to go to the Empire before heading there. Between the borders, if you have more than one village, but you can afford it, you can recover your body and mind better from resting in the city than from resting in the village.

For those reasons the city flourished and was busy with many.

But as a country, it is the military city that is being asked to Krashel.

The city had been closed by an order from a sudden country.

"Damn, it's troublesome for the country's greats"

A magnificent man grieves at the status quo.

This man's name is Philip.

Someone equal to the father who raised me.

"After all, is the war going to start?

My job is to communicate the current situation on the Kingdom side to the Mars in real time.

Now the most needed information is whether the kingdom will really attack the Empire. Krashel can get reliable information.

The Phillips, who had left Krashel, were returning worried about the current state of the city, arguably their home town.

It's quick to rely on them if you want to gather information in this city.

That's why I haven't been rendezvous with an old party in a long time.

"Firstly, it will definitely attack"

Mr. Philip worked as an adventurer based in Krashel for such a long time.

So the Adventurer Guild also has handouts, so I knew that the Guild relied on information that the average adventurer didn't know. As an adventurer guild for Krashel, I couldn't help but rely on them because I wanted them to be involved in running the guild. But I was so tired that I decided to retire.

"To the Alliance Master, the great men of the Army have demanded to give up their power."

"Even though we're not military."

It doesn't work for them.

Let me tell you something, Mr. Philip. The great men in the army today are the ones who stuck their heads to the bees with elite thinking.

They have the idea that we're good.

That was also because he defeated the impossible country and succeeded in the coup.

Better the country with a new king. Because it's a necessary military operation, it's natural for us to work together as residents of the same kingdom of Metis, even though we're adventurers.

Some adventurers change their bases and travel everywhere. Just because I'm based in Krashel now doesn't mean I'm a resident of the Kingdom of Metis.

"What are the possibilities of a mandatory request?

When a city is in danger, the Adventurer Alliance can make requests to adventurers based in the city to protect it. The request is compulsory and a heavy penalty may be imposed if it is not undertaken, except where it has to be stopped.

Basically, if a compulsory request is made, it has to be taken on.

"I guess not this time"

Though an Adventurer Guild, it doesn't mean you can make compulsory requests for any problem.

Only if the city is caught in war by war or is expected to be devastated by demonic outbursts.

"This isn't the battlefield."

Previously, a compulsory request was made because Krashel became a battlefield.

But we're about to attack Krashel into the empire on a military base.

This can't be enough to make a compulsory request.

"To be forced from the country?

"That's okay too. Adventurer Guild is an independent organization only. It's easy to get mistaken for having an S-rank adventurer, but an S-rank adventurer is only an adventurer recognized by the state. It's pointless for the country to give orders to the Adventurer Alliance."

I'm relieved to hear about Mr. Phillip.

However, the situation will change that evening.

"Whoa. What the hell is all this fuss?

I went to visit the Adventurer Alliance to see what was going on.

"Oh, Philip. And is there a young lady from Illis?"

"Long time no see"

An adventurer who took care of me when I was based in Krashel.

Just a little younger than Mr. Phillip, but he's not the kind of adventurer who's active on the front line because he's such a good age.

Still, the credibility of those who have been active in Krashel for over twenty years is high.

I can get information sooner or later.

But it doesn't seem to have anything to do with this disturbance.

The cause of the disturbance also popped into my eyes and ears.

"Now is the time to take back the land taken by the Empire, the former of the new king. Some of you may have had ancestors living in villages across the border. Can we not leave the mindless of such ancestors unclean? There's no way!

Words like I heard somewhere...... yes, the same words that were in the requisition handed out in the Adventurer's Guild.

It's a knight dressed in armor who's uttering those words. He also wears a medal, so he could be in a pretty high position.

"What, that?

"We're inviting adventurers to go to war."

I wanted a little power. The army wanted even adventurers.

"It was just a story that made me wonder if you were really going to hire me."

The reward is five silver coins served a day.

"What, just five?

The military will bear the costs necessary for the service.

But he doesn't approve of the tools needed to take care of the equipment as a necessary expense.

"I'll never take that on"

Hard bread and dried meat are the ones that are paid on the battlefield, even though they pay for their meals. Soup with just the right simmering of vegetables for the purpose of making large quantities.

If you're an adventurer, a little harder can make your meal extravagant.

But you have to endure more than the military can bear.

"Why doesn't anybody take it?"

The knight who was speaking shortly after entering the Adventurer's Alliance was bewildered. Apparently he really thought people would come even on those terms.

"No one has the temper to clear the carelessness of their ancestors!?

"Even if they say so..."

I'm just confused.

Maybe someone will have someone in their ancestors who lived in peace in an imperial village, as the knight would say.

But the border hasn't moved much in the last hundred years.

I mean, it was over a hundred years ago, even if my ancestors had such people.

"Here, you......!

"Dixon......!

Appearing from the upper floor of the Adventurer Guild was Mr. Dixon, the guild master who is putting together Krashel's Adventurer Guild.

Apparently knights and guild masters want to get to know each other.

"As I said earlier, go home!

"That's not why. I have the task of gathering my strength."

"I'm not going to make a forced request or anything."

The Alliance Master is someone you can count on to side with the adventurer while being a former knight.

"I see. Have you come to exert pressure from the country"

"Pressure?"

"That's right. I thought if Dixon, the former knight, was the opponent, he'd send out an adventurer if he said it was an order from the state."

No matter how many Alliance Masters admit it, it will not take effect if you make a compulsory request under the Adventurer Alliance terms.

"But the Alliance Master said no"

"Then don't confine your hands to one."

Normally make a request and recruit adventurers.

But that hasn't worked either because of the knight's sweet perception.

"If we make any more noise in the Alliance, we'll do everything we can to get rid of it."

"It shouldn't be forbidden to look directly for adventurers whose clients take on requests in the Alliance"

"Right. However, a solution by force is permitted in such cases as to significantly interfere with the operation of the Alliance. Raise your voice and try to pull in with a reward you're not thinking about the adventurer. I'm only getting in the way now."

"Knock..."

Look over the Guild of Adventurers with glee.

Then what jumped into the eyes of the knight was a gaze that looked at the enemy directed at him.

No way, he leaves the Adventurer Guild like a knight who didn't think he was going to be like that.

"I'll be back. We are allowed to be stationed in the Lords' Hall. I don't care if anyone changes their mind."

Last knight to say.

Then I thought of it as an escort, and there were two soldiers. I was probably in the guild from the start, but I didn't want to get into a commotion, so maybe I even pretended to be someone else in the corner. The behavior proves that the knight's behavior was annoying.

"You've seen a very nostalgic face."

The Alliance Master smiles when he realizes the presence of me and Mr. Phillip.

Having been taken care of since I was a child, I was delighted to be reunited for a long time because I am equal to a child to the Alliance Master.
