Dungeon Master Makeup Money (formerly known as Dungeon Master Funding)

Episode Three: The Ruins You've Got - Before

Labyrinth basement, 25th floor.

When I visited the deepest part of the mining field, I worked in hole digging.

When I say digging holes, I'm not digging by hand using scoops. Digging in [Soil Magic: Pitfalls] and proceeding to dig down.

"Like what?

I can hear Ira from above.

It seemed like it was going to be so deep when I realized it.

"Oh, you've dug a lot."

A hole five meters in diameter.

If I looked up, I could see the entrance to the hole on top for 50 meters.

"Around here?

"A bit too much digging. Move up another two meters."

Copy that.

Adjust the height of the bottom by returning the excavated soil to the hole as directed by Iris, who is waiting on top, just like Ira.

Stop the magic just moments ago when you reach about the height above the head I was standing on.

"No problem around here"

"Oh, hey..."

Illis jumped off the top nearly fifty meters, so I'll catch it and take it.

Indulge in the shock felt on both arms.

"Don't do anything too dangerous."

"I went down because I still trusted this. And he took it right."

With the power of Illis, it's not difficult to land without difficulty.

That's why I can't overlook a situation where I might get hurt.

"Should I go that way, too?

"I'll just dig it out, so if there's two of us, it's fine."

Use [Soil Magic: Mineral Detection] from the bottom of the hole. Magic capable of identifying the location of minerals buried in the ground or within walls.

When I find the minerals I want, I carefully dig them with my hands so they don't get hurt.

I had been digging holes with the exact location known from the beginning, so I was able to find the object I wanted just to dig a little bit.

"Apparently, you succeeded."

Be sure with a silver glowing mineral in your hand.

"There was?

I can hear Ira's fluent voice from above.

Looks like I kind of guessed I found the object from what was going on down there.

"I'll be right back!

I guess it's because I'm getting bored waiting alone.

Holding a silver mineral in his hand, he escapes the hole when he floats with the other hand holding the iris.

"Has no one seen you?

"Yeah, there's nobody around."

The place where you dug the hole is in the center of the long road of the pit.

A pit with nothing, a place where people can hide, a place where we don't have to worry about being seen sneaking up on our work because it's only about big rocks. Above all, the information that is out on adventurers who use the labyrinth has chosen a place where it is known that worthwhile ore will not be picked.

Well, the labyrinth owner, I set it up that way, so to speak, naturally.

"Oh, doesn't it look like what we know?

"We won't know until we try."

Throw away the ore you've been mining.

Beat the [wind blade] toward the ore away from your hand. More to the ore blown by the wind. Iris hits the ice column and wraps up the cold air.

Ore rolling on the ground.

Doesn't look particularly different in the long run.

"It's not all about success."

It was a success, as Ira would say, because it made no difference.

"I can't be sure without looking into it more closely, but apparently we've succeeded in producing 'Deant Steel'"

Diant steel.

Special metal that was used on the walls and floors of the ruins and on the body of the Lord who was at the deepest end. Its metals have the power to diminish the power of magic and boast endurance to an unusual extent.

When it comes to special metals, there is a misrill. A metal also known as magic silver, it increases its power as a weapon by flushing magic out of its high affinity with magic, and possesses a strong resistance to magic from the outside. However, on the other hand, there is a brittle spot for physical attacks when no magic is being shed, so it is a metal that requires attention to be handled.

DIANT STEEL, which possesses similar effects to MITHRILL, but also has high physical resistance, unlike MITHRILL, when it is not running magic. Besides, the resistance to magic is strong.

Well, there are pros and cons, not just pros. Because of their excessive resistance to magic, they also show strong resistance to reinforced magic from their allies. Golem, which only used magic as an internal power source, had no problem, but it is a metal unsuitable for use as a weapon material.

"If you're going to use it effectively, it's going to be a protective device."

Mix diant steel even in the cage hands. Play the magic that has flown by putting up arms equipped with caged hands against the magic that has flown in that way.

It is not available for shields and armor because of production problems.

"But this is all you could generate?

"You have no choice. The generation method is special."

I didn't even know it existed. It's metal.

Metal that didn't even know the labyrinth nucleus that lived in the ancient civilization era.

Because it was a metal that the man who became the lord of the ruins accidentally succeeded in producing beside studying 'Water of Life'.

"It's life itself that's used in Diant Steel."

Water of life that has so much power that it can produce new life.

The study of demonic stones was also pivotal, but as much as that, we had to focus on the development of new flesh.

"So, this is the fruit of the water of life that I brought back"

Water of life, a too dangerous substitute.

At the time of the escape, Mr. Ratchett was there, so he didn't want us to know we had such a substitute, so he left it and gave priority to the escape.

However, because it could be recovered, it was used for the production of diant steel.

"We don't have a production facility that turns water of life into diant steel."

Although we have received data on the method of generation, the facility is incomplete, and there was no way to restore the facility in the data we received because the site did not envisage it.

So I needed to prepare it in a completely different way.

'What is missing is the life force that is lacking even with the water of life as it is. Technology that can only condense overflowing vitality and turn it into ore. They were both solved in a labyrinth-like way.'

The labyrinth is full of enormous vitality. Massive demons, the souls of those who have so far tried and lost to the Labyrinth, and the magic they have gathered from the land around them.

There are no further facilities, but natural soils exist.

"Create a situation where the water of life drips in the ground of the mine where the bodies of the undead are buried. The pressure obtained only in the depths of the earth and the life force of the undead will transform it into diant steel '

Somehow it turns out that even the labyrinth is capable of producing diant steel.

The next problem to be solved is one concerning the water residue of life.

"The only thing I could collect this time is the size of a palm ride. But I use ten times as much water as I do."

This is too inefficient.

"For the time being, I'm going to sell 'metal you'll never get anywhere else' and gather adventurers to complain, so I don't mind a small amount"

I want to be able to supply it regularly, if possible to the extent that there is no takeover.

However, it is out of the question to consume the magic of the labyrinth to produce water of life or diant steel directly. Neither has too much consuming magic and just enough income to match spending.

"But you're thinking of something."

'Unfortunately, the ruins we've acquired are already decaying and useless. The ruins made of diant steel weren't even used for equipment anyway, so they can't be used as facilities. If the equipment was alive, it would have been possible to produce water for life.'

"I can't help but insist on things that don't. Water of Life is the transformation of vast amounts of magic into vital liquids."

So an example facility was built at the intersection of the ground veins.

"The labyrinth meets the same conditions. There's no way."

I've already started using the equipment that survived it.
