The Gardis Empire was originally born of the annexation of a number of small nations.

But an old story that has nothing to do with our generation. It doesn't matter when it was the Kingdom of Gardis, which was just one of the smaller countries.

I was born as a child of my mother, who worked as a waitress with my father working as a servant of the Chamber of Commerce. He raised all three of our brothers while they were poor. At a very young age, he said that he had bought a sword for children, and tried to shake it to acquire a sword technique that imitated appearance.

The goal is a knight who protects the city.

How many children think about the same thing? Waving their swords in the open space and practicing led to many children getting together.

That's when I met Zeon.

"Why do you want to be a knight?

I don't remember what triggered it.

I just started talking about why I wanted to be a knight from casual stories.

"What about those Knicks?

"My house is poor. Because being a knight will make it easier, and I'll be able to feed my younger brothers until they're hungry."

Knight's work comes with danger. Anyway, in an emergency, you have to protect the person you're serving, even at the expense of yourself. I was a child. I didn't know that. [M]

Still, I dreamed of becoming a knight and encouraged him to work out.

"I hear my house was noble."

"Oh, but..."

We used to play with each other and go to the other's house.

The house I was guided to at that time was like a digging shed. There's also a sudden breeze, and it's critical to call it 'home' in flattery. They also served sweets, but I don't know. It was a dough crushed with grass.

I thought my house was poor, too. I had no idea there were people living in poverty more than that.

I don't think it's very aristocratic.

"It's like my grandfather was noble. But it looks like your grandfather had his house crushed when he was a kid, and your grandfather and father are working hard to be nobles again."

The fall of nobility is a common story.

Some aristocracy will crumble if there are new and emerging aristocracies.

I don't even care if you just listen to irrelevant people, but there's something hard about listening as a friend.

"I don't know what your grandfather and father are doing. My mother always looks tired and tells me nothing. So I'll knight you with my sword."

I want to make your favorite mother smile.

That's what Zeon, who was a child, had in mind.

There was no reason for us to know by then, but Zeon's grandfather and father had a hand in unscrupulous business and were after a thousand bucks. But none of the business went well, I earned my living while working a day job, selling the assets left over from my time as a nobleman to pay off my debts.

The house was torn down, but perhaps the only salvation left was the assets.

But I finally sold it to my last asset.

"That, what about your mother?

One day, when Zeon woke up, his mother was nowhere to be seen. It was easy to know her mother's absence from the fact that there was no breakfast that should have been prepared had she always been awake.

Mother's gone.

"Huh..."

"We're going to live with your grandfather and your three dads."

Zeon's mother was a slave purchased by the Maddin family.

There couldn't have been a woman or something who would have set up a child with a man who was just collapsing and devouring his remaining assets. Still unable to abandon his pride as a nobleman, his grandfather addressed a woman to his own son. That was the slave woman.

It was explained to Zeon, who was a child, that his mother had left the house. Still, he was a good kid. Zeon knew he would never see his mother again.

"Your mother was sold to your father and grandfather."

I was taught as a secret just for the two of us.

She was a woman who had been used for having a child, but she was needed to raise a young child. Still stranded, the Maddin family sold their mother even though they were old enough to have children and only for a few sums.

The achievement manifested itself with the addition of meat to the dinner menu.

Zeon who got lonely.

But his face was laughing.

"Better than being in such a poor house."

Lower value made them less likely to be bought by people on good terms. Maybe I'm supposed to have a day where people with a hobby for abuse buy me and taste the pain.

Still, poor but only brilliant can make me happier than being in a house of nobility.

Zeon was laughing at the thought of his mother's happiness.

"It doesn't change what I do. Make sure you rebuild the Maddin family!

That's about all Zeon, who got lonely, was able to base.

As we practiced swordsmanship incidentally with each other, a retired knight encountered an opportunity to teach swords to poor children as part of a charity. Only a few people who passed the test could teach me, but me and Zeon were to pass brilliantly and be taught swordsmanship.

I was encouraged to practice my sword in the morning and I got lunch.

It was me and Zeon living in poverty, but the guidance from the knights made my family happy to send me off. When you're old enough to live in poverty like us and work, it's natural to work to earn a living. I was just confused by the situation at the time because I thought it was something I would do, too.

But Zeon, thinking about becoming a nobleman, didn't even think about it and hit into sword practice.

When such a life lasted for years and adults were visible,

"Are they the children raised by seniors?

Mr. Velm, who will later be our captain, visited.

"I raised him, not like that. I was just teaching my sword to spare time after retirement. If you let the kids eat, they'll just have to save it."

"Ma'am, haven't you mourned?

"... don't worry about him"

The teacher's wife knows.

We are very child-friendly, but very hard on your husband's teacher. The teachers have two independent children and now they don't live together. So when I was with us, I remembered when your sons were young and I was being nice.

"I am now thinking of forming a small elite force with talented young people. Can I take some of them out of there?

"... these kids?

"Yes."

"What happened to the example operation?

"It was frustrating, so I needed it fast."

If it was true, I was going to form an elite force from a young man made into a knight.

But as knights, they have enough power. They were satisfied with the status quo and never helpless to acquire the kind of power that the upper management would expect. Above all, the troops we are trying to organize were those that, when unsuccessful, would be made disposable.

We don't know that...

"Does anyone in this really want to be a knight? If anyone really thinks about it, you should follow me. There's no guarantee I can make you a knight. But you'll have enough strength and merit to be a knight who's been followed to the end."

I could be a knight.

I was danced to those words and volunteered for the troops.

After that, he was sent to the battlefield many times with rigorous training under the captain to gain strength in action. There were a few people out there who couldn't survive the battlefield, but we did.

When life went on for years feeling such a life-threatening crisis and turned eighteen - the captain was to be promoted to Baron.

The captain was the only one who realized it was the result of a power struggle in court. We've done too much. [M] The nobles who feared the situation moved to give the title and land to keep them away from the battlefield.

He was a captain who wanted to be active on the battlefield, but he couldn't resist the great power of power and had to receive the title.

It was an unexpected promotion, but the captain was honestly pleased with the promotion.

And we were just special soldiers moving under the knight, too, but it was officially decided to be knights.

- Except for one.
