Dungeons for the Devil, Dungeons for the Core (Book Version Title: A Different World Dungeon Made with the Devil)

Chapter 109: The Rock Cave of Disaster 3. Search Team - Marcus - (Part 1)

Theodrum farce...... No, in response to a rescue operation, Marcus asks his country's Adventurer Guild to search for missing persons. Coincidentally (...) two parties of adventurers and two solos who were nearby responded to this, as well as an official announcement that several former (...) soldiers who had retired from the Marcus Army had participated in this as prostitutes...... was sent out for national and international purposes, including Theodoram.

Although the upper level of the Theodoram - although the adventurer, not the soldier, was slightly inclined or decapitated - fulfilled its original purpose of inviting the intrusion into the dungeon, on the other hand, Marcus could not contain the rush to discover coal and water first. The result was to slap the butts of the soldier's quest for dungeons in his own army, but the Crow's side was closing the pivotal passage, which never yielded results.

Marcus' "search party," who knows nothing about such a Theodoram rush, will have two adventurers, two solos, and a few prostitutes split into two teams and look inside the dungeon alternately almost every ten days. The findings each team brings home are shared with each other, increasing the amount of information available for Dungeon Attacks. Such a basic policy was put in place, and a search inside the dungeon was finally launched.

"Are you finally out"

"Are you a soldier whose adventurer participated as a party and solo, and a prostitute?"

"From what I've seen, the soldiers seem to be highly smelled."

Master Crowe, why don't we get back to you?

'Well... try the same procedure as the adventurers. I want to see the difference'

"Understood."

Marcus' search team slowly descends the spiral staircase at the dungeon entrance. Cutting ahead is a party of adventurers who put the scouts ahead, followed by Marcus' prostitutes. The solo adventurer is in charge. Each person is sufficiently spaced apart and the impromptu search team goes down the stairs step by step. From time to time, one of the prostitutes called out when he saw one of the parties doing mapping while checking the orientation with a magnetic needle (compass).

Is that a magnetic needle?

"Yeah, but it seems to be useful here. down the spiral stairs, but the needle is always facing forward"

"... a previously entered investigation team has reported that magic could not be used within the dungeon. I was wondering if the magic props would be the same..."

"Sounds like you're being teased up to a magnetic needle (compass) that's not a demon prop."

"You're not going to give me any information..."

"No, we've already been given information"

"... what?

"This is how the Dungeon Master hides his direction. That's important information. Why hide the direction so intransigently? Probably because they think it's awkward (first) to know where the dungeon is extending. So why did you think that?"

"... sorry. My poor head can't keep up with my thoughts."

"What you care more about is whether the direction this dungeon is extending is within your own country or within Theodoram territory, in that respect. The Dungeon Master wants to hide that information. Then there are two possibilities. I think the dungeon we're going to be moving on to extends either on the Marcus side or on the Theodoram side - in a way that's orthogonal to the border. Perhaps the dungeon as a whole is a form that extends underground in both countries."

The spiral staircase was over as we spoke, and a narrow passage stretched out in front of a line of eyes. When the leader gives everyone instructions to stop there, he makes the scouts look for what's around him. While awaiting the outcome, Marcus' soldiers continue earlier.

"Continuing earlier... Is it possible that this passage extends along the border?

"Maybe, but it doesn't. If you look at the rocky mountains on the border, the Dungeon Master here seems to have an excellent international feel."

"... what do you mean?

"If we extend the dungeon along the border line, we'll hit the border with our neighbors not far away. I don't think that's what the Dungeon Master here wants. If you wanted to involve the Three Kingdoms, you'd have built a dungeon in that position from the beginning."

Marcus' soldiers cannot hide their confusion from the dialogue of a party leader.

"Wait... wasn't a Dungeon Master a person who used the Dungeon as a hand?

"Normally. But this would be a dungeon where Rock Mountain showed up overnight. If it's the dungeon body that has all that capability, it could be a bigger dungeon than you can imagine, and if it's the Dungeon Master's capability, you could have opened a dungeon anywhere you wanted."

Marcus' soldiers also understand what the party leader wants to say about explanations that gently bite and include. Including the fact that it is troublesome.

"... I didn't want to understand, but I did. So, you think the passage in front of you will rendezvous with the passage on Theodoram's side?

"Hmm? I heard that didn't happen in the last investigation?

"Oh, that's right... what do you think? Earlier on, he thought this passage and the passage on Theodoram's side were stretching in the opposite direction."

"That's what I thought because I heard you didn't run into a Theodrum soldier in the last investigation... just fine"

Ahead of the party leader pointing out, a solo adventurer put some unusual shaped tool to his ear and stuck it against a dungeon wall.

"It's called listening money. It's a tool to hear the footsteps of a rock."

Put that aside, the party leader speaks to the solo adventurer. I was wondering if you heard anything.

"... I hear a few things, but I don't hear a lot of footsteps. That's what you want to know, isn't it?

"This is more like you than I am."

"... what the hell is going on?

"So... I can't hear footsteps, which means there are no Theodrum soldiers nearby. If the aisle on Theodoram's side extends this way, you can probably hear the footsteps. That means you can't hear..."

"... the passageways are not close to each other. In other words, it extends in the opposite direction."

"In fact, the depth of the hierarchy may vary, so it's not easy to judge."

'... Marcus' adventurers are brilliant. It's very different from the adventurers of Theodoram. "

"You can expect a performance evaluation test from this, Master Crowe."
