Ee, Teni Shippai? Seikou?

Alchemy Blacksmith Sam Smith, Part II

Shooting iron makes a cocky vain noise.

"... a failure."

A prototype bullet was not fired from Yangichi's standing revolver, and Sam dropped his shoulder disappointingly.

○ ● ○ ●

To make bullets out of this material, Yangichi has been catching up with Smith's workshop for the past few days.

If this succeeds, the power of guns in different worlds should increase dramatically.

I'm sorry about Alana and the others, but I've decided to let them focus on this one now.

In the meantime, I decided to have it made for a 44-calibre revolver I used in a test shot, a simple full metal jacket bullet of structure.

The material is copper alloy and lead. We had the same thing prepared in this world as in the original world.

"Uh, lead first... that's about it"

The required amount is extracted from a large chunk of lead, forming a small grain in the palm of Sam's hand.

"So, the shape... here's the thing."

The snoring chunks were trimmed up slightly and became semiovals.

Sam magically replaces the creation of a number of bullets that would require machine-tools based on advanced science and technology.

These metalworking magics in general are called alchemy in this world.

"You're not gonna do Cancun with a hammer?

"I'd do it if I had to, but that's not what this is about, is it?

Work such as casting and compression is apparently better done by alchemy only.

"The problem is the gunpowder you pack in the yakyo."

Gunpowder is not the first to be used in this world where magic, magic derived from it, or the technology of magic props has developed.

I couldn't get anything that wouldn't be used, so I needed to substitute it with something else.

"This demon stone powder doesn't burn itself, does it?

"The magic stone is the magic stone when it's powdered."

What Sam came up with as a substitute was a demon stone powder powdered with demon stone.

The demonic stone that dwells in the heart of the demon is a valuable source of energy in this world.

It is the fuel of magic props used like appliances in this world.

Sam decided to pack the powdered product into a medicine pod.

However, a demonic stone is a pure energy body, but it is not like burning in a fire.

In order to extract energy from demonic stones and express an effect in some way, that kind of magic has to be planted in tools and so on.

So Sam figured out a mechanism to carve a magic formation at the bottom of the bullet with the effect of an explosion and activate it with a shock by iron.

A source of energy for the explosion is the magic stone powder packed in the medicine pod.

"Ok! Now it's okay...... hey, it should be!!

"Okay."

Yaichi took one bullet offered while wiping the sweat floating on his forehead and put that bullet in the revolver.

And hit the muzzle on a translucent rectangular object.

This was a material made of slime material, physically resistant and shock-absorbing, which remodeled what was used to test out and so on for projectile testing.

"Let's go."

Finger the trigger.

Then immediately after that, a warning noise rang in Yangichi's brain.

"Fear of an outbreak"

For Yaichi, who uses guns as his main source, outbursts and bullet jams can be life-saving, so he set it to [appraisal +] to issue warnings when that is possible.

"What's going on? You're not gonna shoot me?

"Uh, if I keep shooting at this, I'm gonna go wild."

"Outburst?"

"Probably can't stand the power of a bullet."

"Ah, well... I mean, do you know that before you shoot it?

"Yeah well.................. ah"

To Sam's words, "I know before I shoot you," Yaichi understands his defeat.

"Maybe I didn't have to bother trying to shoot you every time, or something?

"... right"

"haha......"

Sam leaked a powerless grin in Yangichi's response, shrugging his shoulders.

"... sorry"

"Ma, fine. I've had so much fun."

Exhaled like a blowout, Sam stretches his body out all the way.

"Well, if you think about it carefully, you will..."

If the strength of the gun stays the same and the power of the bullet increases, the gun should be more intolerable.

"Then why don't you make it from the main body!

"... can you?

"Huh, Mochi!

Sam answered Yangichi's query by turning his thin chest against him.

"Okay... I'll shoot you..."

"Yeah......"

A few more days since then.

The two broke into the workshop to create the revolver body.

Disassemble, observe, and analyze physical objects.

If I had any questions, I would look them up and answer them in [Appraisal +] and made a number of prototypes.

Create a weapon called a gun that doesn't exist in this world as a magic item.

In other words, there were limits to looking into it in [Appraisal +] because it means making a new one that didn't exist in the past.

To some extent, we try and error ourselves, and if we do, does that work correctly? I got as many answers as I could, but I didn't get navigation like “You can do this here”.

Still, the number of triad errors could be dramatically compressed, and it would have taken months, and in some cases years, to complete the creation of new magic items in a few days.

[Appraisal +] Things like that.

I have already got the answer of success from [appraisal +].

All we have to do is actually see the results.

Gunshot the translucent rectangle, causing an iron strike.

And he put his finger on the trigger, and Yaichi finally looked at Sam again.

Under that gaze, Sam nods silently and forcefully.

"Let's go... 3... 2... 1... FIRE!!

- Dopa!!

"Whoa!?" "Yikes!!

The bullet hit. The translucent gel splashed.

The gunshots themselves weren't very loud because of the light (acoustic insulation) sorcery, but I'm surprised by the explosion dispersed gel.

"Ugh...... Are you okay, Sam?

"Yeah... it's Viet..."

He was Sam with an uncomfortable look as he removed the gel on his face with his hands, but looked at Fu Yang Yi and laughed nicely.

"But well... that's a huge success!

"... right"

Even the original revolver had been tested, but the surface of the rectangle contained star-shaped cracks and the bullet had stopped about inside.

In contrast, when it's a newly built revolver, the bullet almost penetrates.

About 10% of the gel surface was detonated and dispersed by impact at firing.

This was caused by Yaichi sticking the muzzle perfectly together on this, and would not have burst so far if we had let it go a little.

"This is going to take down about a C-rank demon in a single blow."

If, for example, you took a one-id-bearer, you needed an objective rifle to defeat this demon with one blow until now.

I could have knocked it down with an assault gun, if only at an angle and somewhere to hit it, but apparently it's more powerful than that.

More than assault guns, less than objective rifles, etc.

Regardless, it's a pistol, so it doesn't have ranges like assault guns and rifles.

The bullet's flying distance would have increased in response to the increased power, but equals. That's not an extension of range, and the pistol is no different than being a weapon for quasi-middle combat.

Still, the new availability of high-powered means of attack would greatly dictate future tactics.

And there's no need to keep anything but a pistol for this task.
