Chapter 309: Spatial Blink and Spatial Rend, Good News

Caelus turned to Sylvia with a thoughtful expression.

"We should find a training room," he said. "I need to test this new attribute properly."

Sylvia nodded in agreement. "There’s a Player Training Gym nearby in Long Island City."

The two made their way through the streets. Despite the recent Corruption Zone outbreaks, the city had already begun returning to normal.

The gym stood at the corner of a busy intersection. Its glass windows displayed holographic advertisements for various training packages.

Inside, only a handful of players occupied the facility. These were the truly dedicated ones, choosing to hone their abilities rather than chase corruption zones for quick levels.

Caelus paid roughly ten dollars for a private training session. The receptionist handed them a key card without much conversation.

They entered a massive training room with reinforced walls and energy-absorbing floors. The space was designed to withstand high-level ability testing.

Caelus stood in the center and took a deep breath.

He understood something important about attributes. The Spatial Attribute was fundamentally different from different attributes.

It required a medium to channel most of its abilities. The same was true for the Lightning Attribute he possessed but its threshold was lower compared to the spatial attribute.

Without the attribute itself equipped, most element-based skills simply couldn’t be used. The attribute acted as a key that unlocked an entirely new category of abilities.

Basic applications, however, were still possible without dedicated skills.

The Spatial Attribute came with passive effects. For example, he could naturally create tiny cracks in space just by willing it.

Small distortions rippled around his fingertips as he concentrated. The air shimmered like heat waves rising from hot pavement.

But these minor effects were nowhere near enough.

If he wanted to perform movements like the Raid Boss from the Spatial Rift, he would need proper spatial skills.

Fortunately, he already possessed one.

Origin Sever!

The skill had always been powerful for its concept-erasing properties. But now, with the Spatial Attribute equipped, it gained entirely new applications.

He could essentially teleport over short distances. He could also make his attacks emerge several meters away from where he actually swung.

Caelus focused on a point across the room. He activated Origin Sever while channeling spatial energy through his body.

The skill worked by severing the space between two points. It cut through the distance itself, creating a temporary bridge.

Space folded around him like fabric being pinched together.

One moment he stood in the center of the room. The next, he appeared twenty-five meters away near the eastern wall.

[CA: 283/284]

"Only one?" Caelus’s eyes widened in surprise.

He tried again, focusing on another point. Space bent around him, and he vanished from his position.

He reappeared near the northern corner instantly.

[CA: 282/284]

The cost was incredibly efficient. As long as he had mana, he could repeatedly teleport without exhausting himself.

Sylvia watched from the sidelines with impressed eyes. "That’s amazing, hubby."

Caelus grinned and continued experimenting.

His current maximum range sat at roughly twenty-five meters. This limitation scaled with Combat Score rather than Rank or Level.

At 82.87 Elite Combat Score, that translated to the combined strength of over eight thousand average healthy adults. His spatial manipulation reflected that accumulated power.

The range matched his Telekinesis ability perfectly. Both drew from the same pool of his combat score.

He then discovered something even more interesting. His attacks could emerge several meters away from where he actually swung.

Caelus summoned the Ruyi Jingu Bang and took a practice stance. With Origin Sever active, he thrust forward at empty air.

The attack didn’t manifest in front of him. Instead, it emerged twenty meters away, piercing through space itself.

The training dummy on the far side exploded from the impact.

[CA: 281/284]

"So that’s how it works," Caelus muttered thoughtfully.

The Spatial Attribute created bridges between two points. Origin Sever cut through the connecting space, allowing instant traversal of both himself and his attacks.

Twenty-five meters wasn’t enormous in the grand scheme of things. But in close combat, it was absolutely devastating.

He could appear behind an enemy before they even registered his movement. He could strike from impossible angles without ever closing the physical distance.

Caelus spent the next hour testing various combinations.

Teleport behind, strike, teleport away. The sequence flowed smoothly when executed correctly.

But his control wasn’t perfect yet.

Sometimes the spatial fold took a fraction longer than intended. Other times, he emerged slightly off from his target position.

These small errors could prove fatal against a skilled opponent.

"I need more real combat experience," Caelus acknowledged with a slight frown.

Sylvia walked over and placed a hand on his shoulder. "You did well for a first session. This is only the beginning."

She was right.

This was only the most basic application of the Spatial Attribute. With time and practice, he would unlock far more advanced techniques.

The Raid Boss had created spatial prisons that trapped enemies completely. It had redirected attacks by bending space around them.

Those abilities were still far beyond his current level. But now he had the foundation to eventually reach that point.

And the two techniques he had over space, he decided to name them Spatial Blink and Spatial Rend. The Spatial Blink being the Quick Teleport and The Spatial rend being the Offensive Long Range Physical Attacks he could now do.

Then, he checked his status window.

He was satisfied with the results.

Sylvia seeing this also opened her own Status Window beside him.

Her crimson eyes scanned it for a moment before a satisfied smile spread across her lips.

Her Combat Score had also risen to a similar level, only slightly behind his.

[Combat Score: 82.12]

"Let’s head back now." Caelus said. "We should check on Genesis City. The Domain will open soon."

They left the training facility and stepped back onto the street. The sun had already set across Long Island City hours ago.

They returned to their apartment quickly.

Once inside, they spend some time to talk things about the Corruption Zone and Soon the Domain opened.

Genesis City materialized around them in an instant. The streets bustled with activity as the Civlians and players moved about their daily tasks.

The city had grown significantly since their last visit. New buildings dotted the landscape, and the population seemed to have increased.

The moment they arrived, a familiar figure came rushing toward them.

Mason sprinted across the central plaza with an excited expression plastered across his face. His eyes practically sparkled with enthusiasm as he skidded to a stop before them.

"I have good news!"
