Chapter 337: Fragmented Beast Of The End And The Adaptation Machine
A notification from the Domain distracted him before he could see what was wrong with the domain.
[Welcome back, Caelus Kross]
[Current Faith Power: 15,247,891]
[Faction Members: 839,421]
[Rank: King]
[Level: 1 (0/200)]
[Combat Score: 29.69]
[Town members: 847,293]
"OH? this is new?" Caelus was surprised.
But this was good, like a small summary of everything when you enter the domain.
Just then, more notifications appeared.
[Ding!]
[A Special Raid Boss: The Beast of The End (Fragment) Has Spawned in the Regional Lord Territory]
[All Kingdoms are encouraged to participate]
[Rewards will be distributed based on contribution]
Caelus stared at the notification with his mouth hanging open.
"Fuck."
No wonder he felt something was wrong. This was it!
Sylvia’s expression mirrored his disbelief.
"Why did a final boss spawn here again?"
They didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
They had just dealt with a Hollow Beast in the real world, and now something called the Beast of the End had spawned in the Domain.
Did the Origin Network think this was funny?
"First it was the Hollow Beast trying to end the world," Caelus muttered. "Now it’s literally called the Beast of the End."
"The naming convention is very on the nose," Sylvia agreed.
Just then, Mason sprinted towards them.
His face was pale with panic, sweat dripping down his forehead.
How come this guy was always panicking or sweating when rushing towards them? Perhaps he liked doing that?
"Sir Caelus! Lady Sylvia! Did you see the notification?!"
"Kind of hard to miss when it’s slapped directly onto my vision by the system."
"What are we going to do?! We have no idea how strong that boss is! The system didn’t even show a combat score!"
Caelus looked at Mason’s terrified expression and smiled.
"Today we will show you what the power of friendship can do."
Mason blinked in confusion.
"The power of... friendship?"
"Trust me."
"Sir, with all due respect, I don’t think friendship is going to help us against something called the Beast of the End."
"You’d be surprised."
Before Mason could question further, the ground beneath them began to tremble violently.
BOOM!
The walls of Genesis Kingdom suddenly cracked violently, debris raining down everywhere.
The Beast of the End had spawned right outside their territory.
Caelus and Sylvia rushed out immediately to assess the situation.
What they saw made their eyes widen with shock.
A massive creature towered over the landscape, its body covered in scales darker than the void itself.
It stood on two legs with a long tail that swept across the ground, crushing everything in its path.
Purple energy crackled across its form like living lightning, and its eyes burned with ancient malevolence.
Dozens of other kingdoms had also sent their forces to fight the creature.
FWOOOM!
A barrage of fire attacks slammed into the beast’s chest from multiple directions.
The flames simply sank into its body and disappeared without leaving a single mark.
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
Lightning bolts rained down from the sky, striking the creature repeatedly.
The electricity coursed across its scales before being absorbed completely.
WHOOSH!
Ice spears the size of trees launched toward the beast’s head from a group of mages.
The frozen projectiles shattered harmlessly against its hide like they were made of glass.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Physical attacks from melee fighters bounced off without any effect whatsoever.
The beast didn’t even flinch, its body remaining completely unharmed despite the relentless assault.
Sylvia’s eyes narrowed as she observed the pattern.
"Does this thing have an Adaptation Wheel like you, hubby? Some people here have King Rank combat score too, and their attacks are doing nothing."
Caelus’ lips twitched at her words.
"Well compared to it, mine is more useless. I fought like two battles till now and it never triggered once."
Perhaps he could extract the beast?
But the power of the beast remained a mystery to his senses.
He couldn’t measure its strength properly at all, there was some sort of jamming from the sheer scale of power it was releasing.
Then Caelus smiled with confidence returning to his face.
"But we aren’t completely hopeless. We also have an adaptation machine."
Sylvia raised an eyebrow at his words.
"What do you mean?"
Caelus pulled up his Faith Power interface.
[Faith Power: 15,342,567]
His eyes fell onto the Pillar section below.
[Pillars Available: Prime, Jibril, Angel (Not Formed)]
Without hesitation, he selected Jibril.
[Summoning Faction Pillar: Jibril]
[Cost: 5,000,000 Faith Power]
[Remaining Faith Power: 10,342,567]
[Ding!]
[Jibril (God-Tier Faction Pillar)]
[Race: Deus Ex Machina]
[Origin: A race built for the sole purpose of killing gods. Jibril rose to become a god herself.]
[Pillar Power: Quantum Adaptation]
[Description: Can analyze incoming powers, magic spells, or projectiles. Breaks down the attack’s code, adapts to it, and fires it back at opponents with refined and amplified strength.]
[Adaptation Slots: 3]
[Note: Removing an adapted power from a slot puts that slot into a cooldown]
[Pillar World Access: Pillars can enter a special world to grow stronger. Each entry costs the same Faith Power as maintaining a Pillar. Pillars cannot exceed the Faction Lord’s level minus one.]
Caelus nodded as he read through the information.
Most of it was the same as before, but the way they got stronger was different now.
They had access to the Pillar World it seemed like and that’s where they got stronger!
Just then, the Beast of the End noticed Caelus and Sylvia standing not too far away.
Its burning eyes locked onto them with sudden rage.
STOMP!
The ground cracked beneath its foot as it gathered energy in its mouth.
A swirling mass of pink and black energy condensed rapidly before firing directly at them.
FWOOOOOOM!
The beam tore through the air with devastating force, annihilating everything in its path.
Caelus sensed the danger coming and completed the summoning instantly.
FLASH!
A figure descended from the sky like a falling star.
Jibril manifested before them, her long blue hair flowing wind.
She wore fully covering clothing that contrasted with her quiet, emotionless expression.
On the side of her head sat a complex mechanical headpiece, metallic structures and floating concentric rings that glowed with vibrant cyan and yellow light.
Everyone nearby froze in absolute shock at her sudden appearance.
"What is that?"
"Where did she come from?"
Jibril raised one hand toward the incoming beam without any change in her expression.
WHRMMMM!
The devastating attack was absorbed directly into her palm, the pink and black energy swirling around her fingers before condensing.
Mechanical wings sprouted from her back, floating pieces of technology that hummed with power.
A shifting energy sword materialized in her other hand, its color changing to match the absorbed attack.
Then she pointed the weapon at the Beast of the End.
FWOOOOOOM!
The same beam fired back, but refined and amplified to stronger levels.
BOOM!
The attack slammed into the beast’s chest and dealt serious damage.
The creature roared in pain, black blood spraying from the wound.
[Ding!]
[Adapted to Annihilation Charge Skill]
Caelus was pleasantly surprised to see this notification.
An Annihilation Charge? What could it do?
Luckily, since Jibril adapted to it, he could check the details.
[Annihilation Charge]
[Effect: The beam ignores all energy defense skills and attacks shot toward it. Cannot be dodged. Cannot be adapted to by enemies.]
"What the fuck," Caelus muttered in disbelief.
This thing was just a fragment of the actual Beast of the End and it had such a strong skill?
Yeah, he knew he was absolutely cooked if he ever faced the real thing.
But luckily he had Jibril on his side now.
The Beast of the End roared with fury and gathered energy for another attack.
FWOOOOOOM!
Another beam fired toward them with even more power than before.
Jibril caught it in her palm without any effort at all.
Then she threw it right back at the beast with amplified strength.
BOOM!
The attack pierced straight through the creature’s chest.
The Beast of the End let out one final roar before collapsing to the ground.
[Ding!]
[You have killed the Beast of the End (Fragment)]
[Credit goes to the Genesis Kingdom]
[Your System Configuration: Drop Rate is active]
[All contributors have been given a Kingdom Improvement Treasure Chest]
Caelus’ eyes lit up with excitement seeing the reward.
He couldn’t wait to open them and see what they got.
