Chapter 313: Teach Me, How to Please You
Que Feiling wasn’t being quiet. While checking his gear with one hand, Qin Muye covered his ear with the other and tsked. "Shut up. Stop your damn chirping."
’This guy seems to have no idea how serious this is...’
Que Feiling ventured, "You... really think it’s not a big deal?"
"Why is your mind so filthy?" Qin Muye was sick to death of this birdbrain. "Just because you want to be the other man, you assume everyone else does too."
Que Feiling: "..."
Seeing the unwavering certainty on Qin Muye’s face, Que Feiling even started to doubt himself.
But after arriving in the Lower District, Que Feiling, afraid of being out of the loop and forgotten by Jiang Qingli, had been relentlessly chatting with her during his breaks, gathering intelligence from every possible angle.
Que Qingqiong had also attended the dinner party the Xie Family threw to welcome Xie Youchen a few days ago.
She had sent him a photo. In the corner of the shot, Jiang Qingli was holding Xie Youchen’s hand as they left through a back door.
Beneath the crystal chandelier, the gorgeous couple gazed into each other’s eyes. It was the kind of candid shot that looked like a scene straight out of a romance drama, and to top it all off, they were even wearing matching outfits!
Que Qingqiong had twisted the knife further: "I just complimented Qingli on her beautiful dress, and she said her ’brother’ gave it to her."
"Look how proactive he is, and then look at you..."
The next day, Que Feiling saw a photo someone had posted online. It was a candid shot from the beginning of the party, with Xie Youchen and Jiang Qingli in the background.
Once he knew what to look for, he re-examined their interactions and noticed that Xie Youchen’s body was clearly angled toward the girl beside him.
He’d been so upset he couldn’t get over it for days.
Nearby, Qin Muye had finished his gear check. He walked to the door, crossed his arms, and urged impatiently, "Hurry up."
Que Feiling started walking out, but after a moment’s thought, decided to keep his mouth shut.
’Forget it. I’ll bring it up after the mission.’
’Otherwise, with Qin Muye’s explosive temper, he’d definitely blow a gasket if he found out what Xie Youchen was up to.’
’This undercover mission isn’t dangerous, but it requires a great deal of patience. If Qin Muye can’t keep his emotions in check, he could easily land himself in a dangerous situation.’
’And Miss Jiang just asked me to look after Qin Muye, too...’
As they neared the rendezvous point, another important question occurred to Que Feiling. "By the way, we take turns serving the female master, right?"
"None of your damn business," Qin Muye snapped, then seized on one word to continue his tirade. "And another thing, what’s this ’we’ bullshit? Who the hell is ’we’ with you? You keep saying ’we’—what ’we’ are you even talking about?"
The other team members who had arrived for assembly heard Qin Muye’s pointed tirade and, as if by silent agreement, immediately took a step back, leaving a wide-open space around the two.
In truth, despite Qin Muye’s bad temper, the team members could tell he was down-to-earth. Que Feiling, on the other hand, was the type who had been popular his entire life. As a result, they both got along well with the rest of the team.
But whenever the two of them were together, it was a guaranteed explosion waiting to happen.
At first, people tried to mediate, but the two were never amicable, so everyone else eventually gave up. Sometimes, they would even egg them on to take it to the training grounds.
Just then, their superior happened to pass by. He couldn’t stand seeing them bicker when they were about to depart and stepped in to mediate. "You two... Honestly. You’ve been through life and death together so many times, how can you still be at each other’s throats the moment you meet? You’re about to start a mission. Try to get along. No more fighting, you hear?"
He said, clapping Qin Muye on the shoulder.
The superior was powerful and well-respected, so Qin Muye gave him face, replying begrudgingly, "Heard you."
He turned his head and saw Que Feiling counting on his fingers, from one to six.
Qin Muye was baffled. "What are you doing now?"
"Nothing," Que Feiling said calmly.
He was just calculating if he would still have his own days.
’Good, there are seven days in a week. Even with Xie Youchen in the mix, I can still get one day...’
’Probably...?’
-
Night was falling.
Jiang Qingli lay on her stomach on the bed, waiting. An hour passed, but no new message came from Qin Muye.
’He must have left for his mission.’
’We always just chat on and off. When will we finally get to meet properly...’
The little black cat in her arms seemed to sense her mood. It stretched out a paw and scratched at her terminal.
Jiang Qingli sighed and stroked its head. "Third Daddy is busy. We’ll see him again later."
It was unclear if Xiao Xue understood, but it nudged her palm with its little head.
Jiang Qingli grabbed a small ball and began to play with the cat. The mischievous kitten darted back and forth under the covers before finally diving under her clothes and squirming around.
The furry sensation against her skin was so ticklish that Jiang Qingli couldn’t stop laughing. She reached down to pull the cat out, but the kitten mistook it for a game and squirmed away even more frantically.
Jiang Qingli was no match for it. She was laughing so hard that tears started to well up in her eyes. With her head buried in the blankets, she sputtered calls for help between giggles.
A moment later, the furry sensation at her waist suddenly vanished.
Thinking the cat had run off, Jiang Qingli called out, "Xiao Xue?"
Xiao Xue let out a single, incredibly docile meow.
The nightgown that had bunched up around her waist was gently pulled down to cover her legs.
Jiang Qingli sensed something was off. She poked her head out from under the blankets and looked up, her gaze meeting Xie Youchen’s deep, dark eyes.
He sat on the edge of the bed, holding Xiao Xue.
The once-rowdy cat was now as meek as a lamb, rubbing its head against his palm to curry favor.
Xie Youchen said, "It’s time for bed."
Xiao Xue had its own room in the house, and Xie Youchen took it there.
When he returned, Jiang Qingli was lying on her stomach on the bed, smiling up at him.
In the warm, yellow glow of the table lamp, every strand of her hair seemed to radiate warmth.
Xie Youchen sat on the edge of the bed and asked softly, "What is it?"
"I’ve noticed you’re so gentle with children and cats. You’re like one of those good dads from a TV drama."
After she spoke, Jiang Qingli noticed Xie Youchen looking at her with a gentle smile that made her ears burn. "Wh-what are you smiling at?"
"I was just thinking about our Ah Li. Thinking far into our future," Xie Youchen said, raising a hand to ruffle the top of her head. "But I’m not particularly set on being a father. It’s all up to you."
Only after he finished speaking did Jiang Qingli realize what he was implying.
Her face and neck instantly flushed bright red.
The girl’s mouth opened, but the words came out in a stutter. "Y-you’re the one thinking way too far ahead..."
’We’ve only just gotten to kissing, and he’s already talking about kids.’
She muttered to herself, then suddenly noticed that Xie Youchen had gone very quiet.
He sat beside her, his long lashes lowered as he watched her with an unblinking, intense gaze.
In those dark eyes she had once thought so similar to her own, love and obsession were tangled together, creating a gaze so deep it felt bottomless.
Xie Youchen cupped her face, the calloused pads of his thumbs gently tracing her lips as he murmured, "Then why don’t you teach me, Ah Li? Hmm?"
His voice was low and husky, as if he were afraid of startling her.
His hot breath washed over her face. As realization dawned, Jiang Qingli’s eyelashes fluttered. She averted her gaze and asked, her voice turning soft, "T-teach you what...?"
Xie Youchen leaned down, his tall frame casting an intensely possessive shadow that completely enveloped her.
His low, magnetic voice followed a kiss to her ear, each word a deliberate, unfamiliar temptation that threatened to melt her completely—
"Teach me... how to please you."
