[Succubus Hunter: You have successfully tamed a certain number of Succubi. All damage dealt to Succubi is increased by 100%. The effect of the ’Succubus Physique’ trait is doubled! You are immune to all Charm Magic!]

[Your ’Succubus Hunter’ title has been converted into a ’Succubus Hunter’ trait, but you can still equip the title.]

"Hm?"

Su Xuan looked at the "Succubus Hunter" title, a flicker of curiosity rising within him.

’This is the first time I’ve ever gotten a title in this game. Is getting one some kind of hidden achievement?’

Unlike Guild Achievement Badges, titles couldn’t be obtained through quests, but their effects were similar.

After a moment of thought, Su Xuan equipped the "Succubus Hunter" title.

Instantly, a dazzling title frame materialized above his head. It looked just like the ones commonly seen in online games, radiating brilliant light as if terrified of going unnoticed.

And to make matters worse, Su Xuan’s title frame was decorated with hearts... It was obvious this wasn’t something he could swagger around town with.

Su Xuan immediately unequipped the title and called out, "You’re going to let me leave now, right?"

As soon as he spoke, the grand doors of the palace slowly swung open.

Then, Mary appeared in Su Xuan’s line of sight.

"Su—"

Mary was about to speak, but her gaze was involuntarily drawn to the Succubi covering the floor.

Golden Holy Light suffused the Succubi’s snow-white skin. Although they had fainted, their faces were all graced with contented smiles.

’It made her... so envious!’

Hmph.

Mary realized she was losing her composure and quickly collected herself. Turning to Su Xuan, she said in a calm tone, "Mr. Su Xuan, please follow me. I will escort you out."

As she spoke, her gaze inadvertently slid over to Su Xuan and lingered for a moment.

Su Xuan hadn’t had time to get dressed yet. The sight of his powerful, well-built physique filled Mary’s vision, stirring a strange flutter in her heart.

However, her reverence for Edith forced her to suppress the feeling and pull her thoughts back to the matter at hand.

"Alright."

After getting dressed, Su Xuan walked over to Mary’s side.

The potent aura he exuded, a remnant of the Holy War, made Mary’s heart race again, and little hearts seemed to pop up in her eyes.

’He smells so good! I want to... so badly...’

"Where’s Edith?" Su Xuan asked, not noticing Mary’s strange behavior.

Mary lowered her head slightly, her voice betraying a hint of nervousness. "Lady Edith is not in the residence at the moment."

"She left?" Su Xuan raised an eyebrow, a little surprised.

"Yes." Mary nodded and continued, "Lady Edith watched about half of it before returning to the Abyss. She ordered me to escort you from this place."

"Watched half of it?"

Su Xuan’s brow furrowed in surprise as he heard Mary’s explanation.

’He never would have thought that Edith had been watching the Holy War the entire time.’

Soon, Mary led Su Xuan from the palace back to the residence.

Su Xuan stood before the Teleportation Array, preparing to return to the Guild.

Just then, Mary approached him carrying an exquisite bronze chest, which she offered to him with both hands.

"What’s this?" Su Xuan asked, looking curiously at the chest in his hands.

Mary smiled and explained, "This is a gift Lady Edith prepared especially for you. Please wait until you’ve returned to the Guild to open it, alright?"

"Oh, okay."

Su Xuan nodded, cradled the chest in his arms, and stepped into the Teleportation Array. His figure gradually vanished.

Meanwhile, unbeknownst to him, Edith was leaning quietly against a window, secretly observing his every move.

"He’s gone back," Edith said, withdrawing her gaze and turning to face Lucia, who was sitting in the room.

She hadn’t gone to the Abyss as Mary had claimed.

She had left early purely because Lucia’s arrival had made it impossible for her to continue watching Su Xuan’s... interaction with the Succubi.

"What exactly are you planning to use him for?" Lucia demanded, her brows knitting in anger. She couldn’t accept Edith using Su Xuan.

"Use him?"

Edith slowly walked up to Lucia and said calmly, "Our relationship is more of a partnership based on mutual benefit. He provides the help I require, and I give him a corresponding reward. How can that be considered ’using’ him?"

"..."

Lucia said nothing. She couldn’t deny that the relationship between Su Xuan and Edith was, in fact, transactional.

But she was more concerned with what, exactly, Edith wanted from him.

The relationship between the Elf Queen and Su Xuan, for example, was also one of mutual interest. But the Elf Queen’s objective was for Su Xuan to resolve the war that had plagued the Elf Kingdom for many years.

Edith’s objective, however, was clearly far more complex. It wasn’t merely about gaining the throne of the Star Kingdom.

After a long moment of contemplation, Lucia slowly rose to her feet. Her voice was as cold and sharp as a sword. "If I find out you’ve hurt him, I will never let you get away with it!"

With that, she transformed into a streak of golden light and vanished from Edith’s sight.

After Lucia left, Edith remained standing where she was, lost in a long silence.

About a minute later, she sighed softly and said with a hint of resignation, "Who would have thought? The great Bright Pope of this generation is actually a Romantic Brain."

"However..."

She looked up at the blue sky outside the window, a thoughtful glint in her eyes. "Then again," she continued slowly, "women who have Faith in the Light have always been this way. I suppose it’s a tradition passed down through the generations."

...

With a flash of white light, Su Xuan was back in the Guild.

At six in the morning, the Guild hall was quiet. He was the only one there.

"Looks like everyone’s still asleep," Su Xuan muttered to himself, his gaze falling on the bronze chest in his hands. "Perfect. I can see what’s inside."
