The hundred-kilometer journey, which had seemed so distant, took Jie Lan only a few minutes.

Jie Lan set Su Xuan down from her arms and patted his shoulder.

Su Xuan, however, was still in a bit of a daze.

"So you really are the Elf Queen’s lackey," Jie Lan muttered under her breath.

Su Xuan furrowed his brow but didn’t dwell on it. Instead, he said, "By the way, Alina asked me to say hello."

"Alina?"

Upon hearing the name, the expression on Jie Lan’s face softened considerably.

After a moment of silence, she looked up, a smile appearing on her chocolate-colored cheeks. She said slowly, "Alina may serve the Elf Queen, but she’s different. She has something the other Elves don’t."
