Chapter 447 - 304: An Improper Elven Activity! Let Everyone See Your Little Weapon~
"What kind of event is it? Why make it so mysterious..." Su Xuan paced back and forth in Beiya Leila’s chambers, completely baffled by Alina’s vagueness.
Beiya Leila and her two daughters couldn’t give him a clear answer either, as they had been confined to that small wooden cabin before all this.
In fact, the event Alina mentioned had only begun in the last few decades.
The reason was that after ten thousand years of accumulation, the Elf Mother Tree’s Elemental Power had reached a point of saturation. On the night of every Full Moon, it would overflow with rich Elemental Magic Power.
For the Elves, this Elemental Magic Power was an incredibly precious gift that could purify their bodies and help them grow stronger.
However, because Beiya Leila had broken certain taboos in the past, she, Fuli, and Flora had never taken part in this grand event.
"We’ve never participated, but we’ve heard Aunt Hong Lian talk about it," Fuli explained to Su Xuan. "Basically, everyone gathers around the Elf Mother Tree to feel the Elemental Magic Power that overflows from it."
"It’s that simple?"
Su Xuan raised an eyebrow, skeptical of Fuli’s description.
If it was really as simple as Fuli described, why would Alina say something like, ’A pervert like him is sure to love it’?
"Regardless of what the activity entails, since almost ten percent of the Elves participate, there shouldn’t be anything too bizarre." Beiya Leila smiled, reassuring Su Xuan. "You can put your mind at ease~"
"Almost ten percent of the Elves are participating?" Su Xuan asked, a hint of surprise in his voice upon hearing Beiya Leila’s words.
The Elf Race’s population numbered in the tens of millions. Even just one-tenth of that meant several million Elves would be gathered at the Elf Mother Tree.
However, the Elf Race was known for being pure, kind, and enthusiastic.
’Surely a large-scale event held by such a people would be perfectly respectable, right?’
Just as Su Xuan was lost in thought, Lucia came up silently behind him and gently poked his back with a slender fingertip.
"What is it?"
Su Xuan turned around, confused, and asked Lucia.
"I have something to ask you," Lucia said softly, before leading Su Xuan to a more private corner.
"What did you want to ask?"
Su Xuan looked at Lucia curiously, unsure what she wanted to ask him about.
Lucia folded her arms, a hint of confusion in her eyes, and asked in a low voice, "How do you know the Elf Queen?"
"We met because of a Guild quest," Su Xuan answered truthfully.
"Just as I thought..."
Lucia murmured to herself, then continued to question Su Xuan. "So, what exactly are you doing for the Elf Kingdom? Are you interfering in their internal affairs?"
Though she asked the question, her tone betrayed a hint of disbelief.
From her perspective, Su Xuan was always busy with matters concerning the Star Kingdom and had seemingly never had any dealings with the Elf Kingdom.
What’s more, Lucia had joined the Guild after the Elf Sisters, so she hadn’t been there to witness the Elf Queen awaken.
All of this left her deeply confused, unable to understand how Su Xuan had managed it.
’He’s busy with matters in the Star Kingdom, yet he can still interfere with the internal affairs of the Elf Kingdom!’
Facing her question, Su Xuan simply shrugged and explained with a smile, "Of course, I’m helping the Elf Queen and her people defend against the Undead Monarch’s invasion and protect the Elf Kingdom."
"..."
Hearing Su Xuan’s answer, Lucia’s eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of hesitation within them.
’Her President... has he always been this righteous?’
After a moment’s hesitation, she asked again, "How did you find out about the war between the Elf Kingdom and the Undead Monarch? Even within the Bright Church Court, very few people are aware of it."
"Through a quest from the Adventurer’s Guild, of course."
Su Xuan replied instantly. His tone was perfectly sincere, but he was actually holding back.
He wasn’t lying to Lucia, of course, but he did omit a few key details.
For instance, his meeting the Elf Queen stemmed from a special quest triggered by one of her tears. Furthermore, the quest’s progress was made through a Dream Realm created by the Elf Mother Tree.
And his intervention in the war between the Elf Kingdom and the Undead Monarch was due to a quest from Edith.
But since everything he’d said was technically true, Lucia didn’t notice anything amiss.
After a moment of contemplation, Lucia muttered to herself, "So, it really was all because of quests from the Adventurer’s Guild?"
"By the way, this Elf event might go late into the night," Su Xuan suddenly asked Lucia. "Are you sure it’s okay for you to head back to the Bright Church Court so late?"
Lucia usually left the Guild right on the dot, as if she were punching a clock.
"It’s fine. Most of the business at the Bright Church Court has been taken care of recently," Lucia said softly, her beautiful eyes glancing toward Su Xuan. "If I don’t go back tonight... it won’t be a problem."
"Oh, is that right? That’s good." Su Xuan smiled and nodded, not pressing for details about the Bright Church Court’s affairs.
It was understandable that Lucia, as the Saintess of the Bright Church Court, would be busy.
What caught Su Xuan’s attention, however, were the faint, dark-red rings that had appeared around Lucia’s eyes, like the dark circles from exhaustion.
"Mr. Su Xuan~ The Elves are here to get us for the event~"
Just then, Ivsha’s voice interrupted their conversation.
"Coming!"
Su Xuan called back, then naturally took Lucia’s hand and said, "Let’s go."
