Chapter 381 - 235: Refinement
They passed through the entrance of the cave, and the scene before them suddenly brightened.
A massive cavern appeared before them. The interior was extremely spacious, large enough to accommodate several hundred people.
And in the center of the cavern, a crimson ball of light pulsed with a dazzling glow, emitting an intensely hot aura.
"Is that the Yanrong Primordial Qi?" Lu Sheng stared intently at the ball of light, muttering to himself.
The others were also captivated by the ball of light, their faces revealing expressions of greed and desire.
They knew that if they could obtain this Yanrong Primordial Qi, their cultivation levels would rise to a whole new level.
They stepped cautiously into the cavern. The ground beneath their feet was solid, yet it faintly radiated a gentle warmth.
The air throughout the cavern felt as if it were being heated by the crimson ball of light, and the temperature was noticeably higher than outside.
Lu Sheng walked at the very front. He could feel the Primordial Qi inside his body cheering excitedly, as if it too longed to come into contact with the Yanrong Primordial Qi.
He took a deep breath, trying to calm his inner excitement.
A powerful aura suffused the area around the ball of light—the unique, scorching, and violent nature of Yanrong Primordial Qi.
"This Yanrong Primordial Qi is truly extraordinary," one of Lu Sheng’s companions sighed in admiration from behind him. His voice was filled with awe and anticipation.
"We need to proceed with caution," another companion warned. "The Yanrong Primordial Qi is incredibly violent. The slightest misstep could lead to it turning on us."
Lu Sheng nodded in agreement.
He knew that when facing a treasure like this, there was no room for carelessness.
They had to be fully prepared to ensure they could successfully subdue the Yanrong Primordial Qi, rather than be harmed by it.
They continued their slow, steady advance, each person treading with extreme care, afraid of agitating the violent ball of Primordial Qi.
As they drew closer to the ball of light, the scorching aura grew ever more intense, feeling as if it would swallow them whole.
However, all of them were Innate Masters. A massive amount of Primordial Qi shrouded their bodies, blocking the intense heat.
They tacitly formed an encirclement, trapping the crimson ball of light in the center. Everyone was poised for action, ready to strike at any moment to seize the Yanrong Primordial Qi.
Lu Sheng’s gaze was piercing. He could feel the terrifying energy contained within the ball of light. To prevent the Primordial Qi from dissipating, they would have to handle the orb with extreme care.
"Everyone, get ready! We strike at the same time. We must succeed in one fell swoop!" Lu Sheng barked, reminding them to prepare.
Just as he gave the order and they were about to strike together...
Suddenly, a deafening shriek echoed from the depths of the cavern, and the entire cave seemed to tremble with the sound.
Startled by this sudden turn of events, everyone froze and warily peered into the cavern’s depths.
A Black Shadow shot out from the depths, its speed so astonishing that it appeared before them in the blink of an eye.
It was a Mountain Demon covered in black fur. The creature stood a full two meters tall, its body blanketed in thick, dark hair, its face twisted in a savage and ferocious expression.
Its eyes were crimson, glinting with a vicious light. It was clearly an extremely fierce Demon Beast.
’Oh no, it’s a Guardian Beast!’ Lu Sheng’s heart sank. He hadn’t expected such a powerful Demon Beast to be here, protecting the Yanrong Primordial Qi.
The others also realized the gravity of the situation, their expressions turning grim.
They knew that this Mountain Demon’s strength was likely on par with their own. If they wanted to seize the Yanrong Primordial Qi, they would first have to get past this Demon Beast.
The Mountain Demon let out a deafening roar and lunged at Lu Sheng and the others. Its claws were like blades, slicing viciously through the air toward the nearest person.
The man couldn’t react in time and was struck by the Mountain Demon’s claws. He let out a bloodcurdling scream and was sent flying backward, a deep gash torn across his chest from which blood spurted.
Seeing this, a hard glint flashed in Lu Sheng’s eyes. He knew this Mountain Demon would be difficult to handle, but they couldn’t just retreat.

"Everyone, be careful! This Mountain Demon is very strong! Don’t split up! Attack together!" Lu Sheng shouted.
Hearing his command, the others immediately gathered together, forming a small battle formation. They each channeled the Primordial Qi in their bodies, their weapons glinting with a cold light as they stood ready for battle.
Seeing this, the Mountain Demon let out an even more furious roar and lunged at the group once more.
Its body was lithe and its movements swift, each attack carrying a fatal aura.
However, Lu Sheng and his companions were no pushovers.
With their superb Martial Skills and seamless coordination, they actually managed to fight the Mountain Demon to a standstill.
Whenever the Mountain Demon attacked, someone would promptly intercept it. Their weapons clashed against its sharp claws, producing the ringing sound of metal on metal and sending sparks flying.
Although the Mountain Demon was powerful, it gradually began to show signs of fatigue under the group’s coordinated assault.
Its attacks grew slower and slower, and each one was easily blocked by the group.
Seeing this, Lu Sheng was overjoyed. ’This is our chance!’ he thought. He took a deep breath, channeling the Primordial Qi in his body and preparing to deliver a fatal blow to the Mountain Demon.
Just then, something unexpected happened.
The crimson ball of light suddenly grew agitated, and a powerful aura erupted from within it.
Immediately after, the ball of light transformed into a streak of light and shot toward the Mountain Demon.
Everyone was aghast. They never expected the Yanrong Primordial Qi to suddenly become volatile at a time like this.
They worried that the Mountain Demon would obtain the Yanrong Primordial Qi. If that happened, all their efforts would have been for nothing.
However, their energies were linked at that very moment, having just launched their own attacks. They were unable to intercept it in time and could only watch helplessly as the ball of Primordial Qi flew toward the Mountain Demon.
