Eternal Log

Episode 32: Simulated Battle

"Fine."

I guess Roy also wonders how much swordsmanship I've improved with The Eternal Log.

Magic can be improved at once if you have knowledge, but swordsmanship, body surgery, etc. doesn't make sense if your body doesn't respond even if you have knowledge.

I wanted to make sure because I felt bad about it too.

Me and Roy will be facing each other as Shirley and Allie watch.

No magic this time.

"Introduction!"

The simulation begins with Shirley's hanging voice.

But Roy doesn't move.

Roy is watching my way out.

If you don't come that way...

In order to make Roy's point, I packed the distance and started poking instead of being slashed.

Roy reads my movements, sees them, turns the poke around and slashes me at the counter without panicking.

I fly it aside and get slashed by a sideburn on my empty flank.

But Roy took it with his sword.

And Roy plays my sword and he slashes me.

I'll flush it out and put the counter in.

But Roy also quickly takes the sword back.

And we fly each other backwards.

"Not quite."

"You're the one...!

I pack up the distance and pounce continuously.

Roy moves it around his torso.

I change track in the middle of a poke and get slashed by a sideburn.

Roy couldn't recieve it because it was obnoxious, and he took it with his sword.

Immediately afterwards, I use recoil to draw my sword, slashed from the diagonal.

Roy took it with his sword, using recoil, and Roy took a flying distance backwards.

I narrowed my distance so that I could chase him, and cut him from under bend so that he would disappear from sight where his distance with Roy had narrowed.

My sword is stopped by Roy's neck.

But there was Roy's sword tip in front of me.

The result is a draw.

"Hal...... don't do it"

Roy's the one.

Again, I have found out from mock warfare close to actual warfare.

Sure, your abilities seem inherited, but they're still better than the fat muscles you actually imagine, and the movement itself isn't smooth.

Is it about 60% or 70% of my abilities?

I knew you needed training to make your body remember this.

Still think Roy is awesome to stick with that.

Roy also inherited the power of 'Eternal Log'. Drawing from me seems satisfying for now.

"Hey Roy, what kind of a master did I teach you a sword?

"Huh? Oh, Mr. Louise? Rank S adventurer, I'm told you're number one in swordsmanship."

I thought you weren't half a person but I didn't know you were like that......

"Well, that's what you've been taught."

"Well, you said you didn't want me to tell the halfway guy. My father spoke to Louise, who competed in the fight and won. And then it seemed like he took it very seriously."

"Oh well. You're a generous man."

"No, I actually found out later, but Mr. Louise seemed to like our maid. He fell in love with everything at first sight when he stopped by the castle before the tournament. They introduced me to that maid in exchange for taking it on. So, it seems like we've been dating for quite a while, and then we broke up and said we were gonna look back at ourselves, and we left the country."

... thats why.

The image of the most powerful swordsman collapsed in me.

"Hal... I know what you're trying to say, but you're sure of your arm?

Sure would be quite an arm from Roy's arm.

Well, it's easier to deal with people with close characters than silent swordsmen.

"Hey, can I tell Mr. Louise too?

"Well, Hal owes me a favor, and I'll ask for it."

All right.

Mr. Louise, it should be quite an experience if you can train with Mr. Louise, who is said to be the best of his time.

I think I see a little further.

By the way, after the mock fight, Shirley and Allie pissed me off and Roy.

They said our speed was too fast to know what was going on, and if we realized it, we'd have stuck our swords at each other's critical spots.

So,

"What if something happens at such a speed!!

was pissed off with a huge sword screen.

I thought in my mind I wouldn't do it without these two when I was training swordsmanship.

Then Roy looked at this one and nodded too.

It was the moment when the man's friendship with Roy deepened even further.
