Chapter 1674: War on the Horizon

The skies above the waning Undead Boundary had become eerily quiet, yet beneath that silence, countless storms were gathering.

Far above the newly established Evernight war fronts, two terrifying figures stood upon a floating platform forged from crimson crystal and abyssal stone. Behind them, the battlefield was rapidly taking shape.

Endless streams of cultivators moved between fortresses, supply caravans crossed the heavens, array formations formed one after another, and millions of runes lit up the wastelands. The entire region was transforming into a colossal war machine.

But neither of the two figures paid much attention to it; their gazes remained fixed on a single target. The Undead Boundary.

The Evernight Demon King stood quietly with her hands folded behind her back; her small figure appeared harmless, almost delicate. Yet the countless Abyssal Lords and Grand Lords operating below did not dare look directly at her.

Because everyone knew, among the Three Evernight Kings, she was perhaps the most unfathomable. Her empty white eyes reflected the distant boundary while countless calculations seemed to pass through her mind every second.

Unlike the Evernight Fiend King, who relied on overwhelming might, the Evernight Demon King preferred to understand everything before acting, and what she couldn’t understand interested her most. Especially after the Sky Stealer’s appearance.

Beside her stood the towering Evernight Fiend King, his fiendish armor radiating infernal crimson light. His hands remained folded behind his back. Yet every now and then, cracks appeared in the surrounding space simply from the pressure leaking from his body.

Unlike the Evernight Demon King, he wasn’t interested in mysteries and only cared about three things. War, slaughter, and conquest, as his eyes were locked upon the Undead Boundary like a starving beast upon prey.

The Evernight Demon King finally spoke, "It seems everything is ready."

Her calm voice drifted through the air, "The four battlefronts have been established. The Evernight Dukes have reached their positions. The Realmbreaker Conquest Ark has completed its deployment. Even the Protector Envoys have entered the battlefield."

Her gaze remained fixed ahead, "All preparations are close to complete."

The Evernight Fiend King snorted, "Hmph."

His eyes narrowed, and the crimson glow within them intensified. The boundary before them had become noticeably different from before.

The translucent veil that once concealed the entire Undead Cradle was becoming increasingly unstable as ripples appeared across its surface and cracks occasionally emerged, only to repair themselves. Its concealment properties had almost vanished entirely.

More importantly, it was weakening at every passing second!

The Evernight Fiend King’s lips slowly curled, as he didn’t care about the battlefront behind him; all he wanted was to charge in and slaughter every Undead Race!

"A little more." His voice carried terrifying anticipation, "Just a little more."

His hand clenched, and the surrounding space exploded as a savage grin appeared, "We’ll finally tear apart that damned line. And when we do..."

His eyes burned with bloodlust, "The filthy undead race will have nowhere left to hide."

The Evernight Demon King remained silent, though she didn’t share her eldest senior brother’s obsession with slaughter, she did agree with one thing. The Undead Cradle had existed for far too long; it was time for its story to end!

Meanwhile, deep inside the Undead Boundary.

The Corpse Clan was not sitting idle. The moment news of the boundary’s weakening spread through the higher ranks, the entire realm entered a state of wartime mobilization.

Across countless regions, enormous battle formations were being constructed, defensive arrays stretched across mountain ranges, and ancient corpse towers rose from the earth.

Countless corpse puppets were gathered into military formations. Legions of corpse soldiers marched endlessly across the wastelands.

But unlike the battle-hungry Evernight Council, the atmosphere here was grim, determined, and desperate.

At the very center of the defensive preparations stood the Corpse Canyons. A region located directly above the Lower Grave Strata. The most important defensive zone of the entire Corpse Clan.

Gigantic fortresses were being erected there day and night, with thousands of corpse cultivators working without rest. Corpse Rune Crafter inscribed ancient runes and assembled defensive weapons. Moreover, some Corpse Elders strengthened countless corpse puppets.

It was like an entire region resembled a kingdom preparing for an apocalypse.

Because everyone understood, if the Evernight Council broke through, this would become the first battlefield and perhaps the last.

Above the canyons, several terrifying figures overlooked everything. They were naturally the Bone Legion Commanders, or rather...their corpse vessels.

One after another stood upon the fortress walls, their auras shook heaven and earth, yet none of them were present with their true bodies.

Their actual Undead Souls remained hidden deep within the Lower Grave Strata, cultivating and attempting breakthrough after breakthrough. Because after learning the truth from the Corpse Governor, none of them could remain calm.

The disappearance of the Undead Boundary’s core formation had undoubtedly created a disaster. But it had also created an opportunity. The restrictions suppressing their realm were weakening.

For the first time in countless years, the possibility of stepping into the Abyssal King Realm had appeared. That possibility was enough to drive even the Bone Legion Commanders into madness.

Therefore, every commander was desperately cultivating. Every resource they possessed had been thrown into closed-door cultivation, with every secret art, forbidden technique, and even hidden reserve opened.

Nothing was being held back because they knew, if they failed, the Corpse Clan might cease to exist.

Far beneath them, deep within the Lower Grave Strata. Ancient chambers hidden beneath layers of restrictions trembled with terrifying energies.

Inside each chamber, a Bone Legion Commander struggled against the final bottleneck, attempting to break through, to transcend, to become a King.

Yet among them all, one existence stood above the rest. The Corpse Governor!

At the deepest region of the Lower Grave Strata, within a forbidden chamber filled with endless corpse Qi and deathly runes.

A terrifying figure sat motionless as corpse Qi surged around him like the ocean. The entire chamber trembled beneath his cultivation as countless ancient resources disintegrated around him, transforming into pure energy.

His aura was already approaching the level of an ordinary Half-Abyssal King, for among all members of the Corpse Clan, he possessed the highest chance of success.

The highest chance of reaching the Abyssal King Realm before the war truly began.

The Corpse Governor slowly opened his eyes, and two horrifying corpse flames ignited within the darkness.

He could feel it, the weakening boundary, the approaching Evernight Council like the gathering of a storm.

His expression remained cold, yet for the first time in countless years, a trace of urgency appeared within his eyes.

Because even he knew, the next few weeks would determine everything. Either the Corpse Clan would gain a King or the Undead Cradle would become nothing more than another conquered realm beneath the Evernight Council!
