Chapter 507: Konstantin finally reveals himself to the world
Twenty years had passed since the official fall of Alexander Sulyvhan, and for the rest of the world, this disappearance wore the clothes of a heroic sacrifice. Yet the truth, buried under layers of lies and manipulations, was of an entirely different nature. The founder of the Empire of Alexandria had not succumbed to the enemy, but to the greed of his own: his own generals, thirsty for a power they no longer wanted to share, had orchestrated his fall, and it was Loriel, the woman he loved above all else, who had sealed his fate with a gesture that nothing could justify. Since this act of treachery, the seven generals had consolidated their grip on humanity, elevating their names to the rank of living legends while methodically erasing that of their former master from the official archives, as if Alexander had never existed.
The conflict against the powers of the Abyss had not ceased, however. On the contrary, it had intensified over the decades, devouring entire territories and plunging the world into an endless war. In Tenebris, the sky wore a sickly violet hue, constantly streaked by corrupted mana lightning that tore the clouds like open wounds. Loriel, clad in silver plate armor that hugged her divine curves, now led the charge on the main front, her Seraphim wings deployed in all their majesty projecting a white and blinding light that fought desperately against the surrounding darkness. Facing her stood Lucifer, an entity whose mere presence bent space-time, creating distortions around him that troubled the sight and balance of even the most seasoned soldiers.
The battle raged between the two celestial powers, and each passing second saw the intensity of the duel increase immeasurably. Lucifer wielded his sword of darkness with a casualness that bordered on insolence, his fluid and unpredictable movements tracing arabesques of nothingness in the air. Each clash of their blades created shockwaves that pulverized the basaltic ground, hurling shards of rock heated white-hot hundreds of meters away, while the soldiers of both camps, huddled behind their shields, witnessed this confrontation with a terror mixed with admiration.
Loriel gritted her teeth, her silver eyes shining with a cold fury that contrasted with the apparent serenity of her features. She concentrated her mana in her right palm, channeling the divine energy until her hand became a miniature sun pulsing with pure light.

A solid pillar of light burst from the sky, slicing through the corrupted clouds with surgical precision, and rushed straight toward Lucifer. Far from showing the slightest concern, Lucifer simply raised his left hand, a black gravity sphere blooming in his palm to absorb the impact in a hiss of void that tore the eardrums of the nearest combatants. The light faded in a murmur, swallowed by the abyss that the demonic lord had summoned.
"Is that all the power you managed to gather in twenty years, Loriel?" mocked Lucifer, a carnivorous smile stretching his ebony lips. "Alexander, on the other hand, would have offered me a much more entertaining spectacle."
Loriel did not respond to the provocation. She kept her composure. Without warning, she spread her wings in a swift movement that kicked up a swirl of dust and lunged forward. Her blade, made of immaculate feathers and strengthened by arcane energy, traced a luminous arc in the air.
Lucifer, however, shifted a step to the right. The blade sliced through the air millimeters from his shoulder and plunged into the ground with a dull thud, carving a deep fissure. Shards of stone flew in all directions.
Taking advantage of Loriel’s momentum, Lucifer spun around, his right foot tracing a swift arc toward her side. The blow was powerful, but Loriel raised her forearm and blocked the impact. The shock resonated with a dull thud, and she stepped back to cushion the force.
A few hundred meters away, Aeshma was holding back the seven generals who were desperately trying to reach the front to support their commander. Wrapped in black silk veils that seemed to suck the vitality from the ambient air, she floated above a carpet of corpses, her bare feet never touching the blood-stained ground. Her eyes, two abysses of nothingness where crimson gleams danced, fixed the ancestors of the legendary families with a sovereign contempt that chilled them to the bone.
One of the generals, the ancestor of the Draken lineage, whose armor was stained with demonic blood and volcanic dust, tried to force his way through with his great sword, his muscles tensed by effort and rage.
He launched a brutal assault, supported by the other six, but Aeshma traced a circle in the void.

A mist of nothingness rose from the ground, wrapping around the generals’ legs like immaterial chains. Each time they tried to break the spell with their aura, the mist devoured their energy, forcing them to remain on the defensive. The situation was critical: Loriel was exhausting herself against Lucifer, and the protectors of humanity were paralyzed by the regent of death.
The battle reached its climax when Lucifer and Loriel collided again in the center of the plain. The explosion of white and black mana that resulted was so violent that it seemed to tear the celestial vault.
It was then that an anomaly occurred. Time seemed to dilate for a fraction of a second, and a frequency of energy totally foreign to the divine or demonic domain invaded the area.
Suddenly, an explosion erupted, not from the clash of the two combatants, but from the ground itself, at the exact intersection of the two fronts... It was not a blast of fire, but an eruption of gray and golden light that pulverized the basalt into fine dust.
Konstantine made his appearance in the center of the crater, which surprised everyone. He smoothed his hair back with a nonchalant gesture, a mocking smile stretching his lips.
"It looks like I am arriving at the most unstable moment of the equation," declared Konstantine in a calm voice that carried despite the din of the battles.
Loriel, short of breath, stepped back a few paces, staring at the intruder with mistrust. "Who are you? You are not an angel... and you give off a human scent, but your aura is... absurd."
Lucifer, for his part, narrowed his red eyes, a malicious gleam of recognition appearing in them. "Konstantine... What are you doing here?"
Konstantine turned his gaze toward Lucifer, his smile widening. "Let’s just say I did it for my own reasons, but I will explain later."
He turned toward Loriel and the generals surrounding her, and he could read on their faces a striking mixture of shock and fear. Loriel... the angel who had sealed the only man capable of uniting them all. Fascinating. This thought crossed his mind as he analyzed the flows of mana emanating from her.
"Twenty years and you still haven’t taken down two regents of the void," launched Konstantine in a calm voice but tinged with contempt, while walking slowly toward Aeshma. He superbly ignored the generals who, in a defensive reflex, were already pointing their weapons in his direction. "Your Empire of Alexandria is built on sand if you cannot handle a simple woman."
These words provoked a shockwave among the officers present. General Draken, a colossus with a gray beard and bloodshot eyes, gripped the hilt of his sword so tightly that his knuckles whitened. "You dare insult us?" he roared, his voice resounding like thunder. Without waiting for an answer, he charged Konstantine, his weapon brandished high, ready to cleave the intruder’s skull.
The sorcerer did not deign to move his torso. His gaze remained fixed on Aeshma, as if the general were nothing more than an annoying fly. Then, in a precise gesture, he made a quick movement with his right index finger. At that precise instant, the air around him deformed slightly.

A totally invisible shockwave struck the general head-on, hurling him backward with unheard-of violence. Draken crossed two massive rock pillars that collapsed in a deafening crash before crashing heavily into a cloud of dust and rubble. The other generals froze instantly, their weapons now aimed not out of aggression, but out of pure defensive reflex. The composure of this stranger paralyzed them more surely than any magic Aeshma could have deployed.
Aeshma, who had remained silent until then, observed the scene with sustained attention. Then, she took a step forward, her black veils fluttering like wings. Her piercing gaze settled on Konstantine, seeking to pierce his intentions. "Why are you helping us?" she finally asked, her deep voice tinged with legitimate mistrust.
Konstantine stared at her for a moment, an enigmatic smile floating on his lips. He pivoted slightly on his heels to face the generals who no longer dared to move, then he replied: "As I said, I have my reasons." He paused, savoring the effect of his words on the assembly. "Besides, if you are so eager to know..." His hand rose slowly, a purple gleam lighting up at the tip of his fingers. "We will first get rid of these guys. Only then will I explain why."
There was a heavy silence, disturbed only by the groans of Draken who was trying to get up among the debris. The generals exchanged worried glances, suddenly understanding that this intruder was not an ordinary ally.
