Extra's Path To Demon King

Chapter 573: Last Task

Exactly in that mountain range, Axel stood in the visage of Osiris, and not long after, Daniel and Axion had arrived, with a few powerhouses just to be cautious.

Daniel spoke up, his voice somewhat tense, "So, you’re the demon my son spoke about?"

He added after a pause, "Are you truly protecting my son because of my father’s instructions?"

Axel nodded, "I am, but if you ask me anything about Lord Damien Nomrad, I can’t say anything; he has ordered me to protect his son and grandson because he knew the Nomrad family would be targeted."

Daniel scowled, "Why should I believe any of your words, and why would a demon listen to my father, who was only a human rune expert?"

"Only a human Rune Expert?" Axel shook his head, scoffing just at those words, "The Runic Sage was no mere human, I assure you, and you have no idea; that’s all I can say."

Axel, by that time, had already come to know the information about why he had been placed 2nd within the First trial in all of Prime Nexus’s records.

Because, considering what Sophia had done to earn the 1st rank, destroying all the population of Earth.

Axel should have been much, much lower in the rankings than being 2nd...

But it was because his grandfather had almost destroyed the entire Trial world. Causing an almost planet-wide destruction of all lives in that world.

He did not know of this particular information beforehand, as if his memory of that event was locked in his mind.

Still, it unlocked in his mind when he had created and mastered his own version of the

Mantra of True Rune Meditation Technique.

Perhaps it was because Axel had created the mantra by drawing inspiration from the Rune Meditation Technique left behind by Damien Nomrad.

He shook his head, cleared his thoughts, and said, "Anyway, I will attack the Dusker Family with my minions, right after the war; and whether you will join me or not is up to you."

"Assuming you have a trump card powerful enough to go against a 5th phase existence as powerful as the Duke," iterated Osiris coldly.

Gareth said in a trembling voice, "All the Humans, they are indeed waking up."

Axel did not respond to the forger’s shocked remark because he did not need to; after all, his target was never to slaughter all of humanity.

Even though he was incredibly cruel and selfish, he was not apathetic to such an extent that

he could slaughter billions of humans on a whim.

More than that, no matter his schemes or tools in hand, Axel did not possess the power to kill billions of mundane humans. The Demon Disease he had spread through his long machinations only served as a catalyst, bringing all negative emotions within the human soul to the surface.

Even if Axel did not extract all that negativity, once the Human Kings woke up, they would be able to solve this problem in a matter of hours; even without that, the minuscule effect of his demon blood on all the human bodies would eventually recede.

Axel might have the power to kill the Human race only when he advanced to the 5th phase; before that, there was no chance.

After all, if Axel truly possessed the means to threaten all of the Human race, he would have long used that as a card and tried to free Sophia from the clutches of the Suncrest King, so in the end, it all boiled down to one single point: the necessity of strength.

His strength was still NOT ENOUGH.

Though he extracted all the negative emotions from the souls of all Humanity for his selfish purposes, the result was actually extremely positive.

Axel could see it out of the corner of his eye: despite the horrendous calamity that had just washed over all of humanity, people were waking up with unknown smiles on their faces. It was as if a hidden burden had been washed away from their hearts.

More often than not, Humans do not truly perceive reality as it is; they see it the way they want to see it.

Because... a Human’s perception of reality is even stronger than reality itself.

So, most of the time, a person would make their problems bigger than they are, instead of trying to solve or overcome them to better themselves.

At least that is what Axel could conclude, witnessing and feeling the memories of despair from all of humanity. At the very least, most of humanity seems to love drowning in self-pity, thus spiralling into an endless loop of despair.

Which was why, once all of the ’Despair’ accumulated in their souls was taken away. They would see the world in a new light, perhaps realising that those grave problems and misfortunes were not as devastating as they had thought.

An unprecedented wave of positivity will refresh all of humanity.

All of these thoughts of his took only a fraction of a moment for Axel to think, and the moment he and his minions came out of the spatial channel, they landed atop a tall mountain range.

And there was already a group of people there: Trainer William, Butler Vargas, and Instructor Lex. There were a few more figures whom Axel did not personally know.

His gaze went to the man covered in shimmering silver armour etched with arcs of magnificent golden runes; Axel’s eyes flashed with wonder at that marvellous piece of work.

The sheer intricacies of that armour were so complex that not even he could understand it. It

was an artefact far beyond his own understanding.

A complete 5th tier Rune Armour, and of the highest quality at that.

He opened his mouth and said, "So, that’s your secret weapon, Daniel?"

But the man in Runic Armour did not answer his question; rather, he asked in return, his tone containing a warning edge, "Where is my son!!!!"

Right as Daniel spoke those words, two people appeared atop the mountain abruptly; it was Axel’s doppelganger, Axion and the twin soul assassin, his thrall, Lebron.

Daniel went forward and hugged his son, who was, in fact, Axion, unaware that his real son was the most terrifying demon standing there.

Axel’s gaze drifted far into the distance, towards his final target before leaving humanity; his insidious demonic gaze settled upon the ginormous, luxurious mansion, heavily guarded by powerful seekers.

And that was the grand abode of the Dusker family; he could feel the power of the Duke of Dusker oozing out from within. The Duchess of Dusker also lay there.

The very wench that killed his mother.

A malevolent storm of killing intent flashed in his eyes, and he growled in his mind.

It was time...

Time for the Nomrads to finally have their rightful Revenge.
