Falling Mage and the Power of Divergence
Lesson 2: The Falling of Senavia
A new day was about to begin today as the pleasant wind blew to announce the beginning of May. But sometimes it was a holiday until yesterday, and the students of the world are going to school somewhere tired.
That was the same here, the students at the Senavian School of Magic.
The Senavian School of Magic is one of only ten schools in the Kingdom of Leiria, in the city of Orna in the northern part of the Windistan region.
In addition, this Senavian School of Magic is one of only three magic schools in the Windistan region, especially the prestigious School of Magic.
Among students at such a Senavian School of Magic, there were students who, with a particularly melancholy face, headed to the classroom as late as usual.
The name of the seemingly feeble boy with blonde blue eyes is Christina-Saya, a student enrolled in the sophomore year of this school.
Seiya, who was walking with a melancholy face, arrived in front of her class, opened the classroom door and went to the front of the window with her seat early enough, and sat down.
The classmates look at Seyya for a moment, but immediately let her chat with her friends resume as if she had lost interest. The classmates couldn't see the Seyya thing as if they couldn't see it.
But not everyone is together, and three male students under Seyya say the same sarcasm as usual about the visit of Seyya, this again.
"Wow, you've come a lot today. Annone."
"I can come to school a lot every day, every day. Annone."
"I don't know what else to do because I'm Annone. I don't even know my own family."
There are still three people today who dislike Seyya, Zach-Lunias, Hoa-Teal and Shra-Nines, as they do in the routine. These three were rare students in Saiya's class who would converse with Saiya.
But the attitude of the three of them was not friendly to see, but rounded out an unfriendly atmosphere. The three boys keep this conversation going every day as if it were a game villager.
The reason why these three are entangled in Seyya, as they do every day, was in the birth of Seyya.
Seyya is currently attending this Senavian School of Magic while living alone. The reason Seyya lives alone is simply because she doesn't have a parent.
Even so, these three people didn't come tangled up every day just because they didn't have parents, and their classmates would have interacted more with Seyya.
The problem wasn't just that Seyya doesn't have any parents, but that Seyya doesn't know anything about her parents or about her own clan.
Patterns are particularly important to magicians, who sometimes determine their status within the kingdom of their clan.
Not to mention that in the Windistan region, where there is the Senavian School of Magic attended by Seyya, there is a strong tendency to place particular emphasis on households, so much so that karsts in schools are also determined by households.
For that reason, Seiya, who had no family and knew nothing about her family, was called unknown, un-none, because she knew nothing, and was treated as if she were not in the class, no, from all over the school.
Even if Seyya is in trouble, no one will help her. On the contrary, even if Seyya tries to help someone, she keeps ignoring and not getting involved with Seyya herself.
If there are weird rumors about getting involved and enough to scratch your own family, it's a basic stance for your classmates to ignore it and stay out of it.
But only the three men involved in Seyya were different every morning.
The man who feels like a brunette, short-haired, well-groomed kid general is called Zach-Runias, two of the Renius family. The Renias family is an intermediate family of magicians who belong to Windistan and specialize mainly in fire attribute magic.
The man who looks like a brown-haired charlatan is called Hoa-Teal, the three men of the Teal family. The Teal family is also a family of magicians belonging to Windistan, just like the Renias, but unlike the Renias, it is a family of elementary magicians.
Finally, the round-headed, somewhat moveable man is called Shra-Nines, the two men of the Nines family. Like the Teal family, the Nines belong to a family of elementary magicians in Windistan.
About half of the population of the Kingdom of Leiria are magicians and the other half are non-magician people.
Mages make their living mainly by continuing their family business or taking up defensive positions in the kingdom, and the higher their strength and rank in the clan, the more important positions they can take.
Magicians are classified into four ranks: Premium Magician, Advanced Magician, Intermediate Magician, and Primary Magician, and the higher the rank, the smaller the number. For example, there are only twelve extraordinary magicians within the Kingdom of Leiria.
And the rank of the clan is determined by the rank of the chief of that clan.
Zack's clan, for example, has become an intermediate magician clan, but the intermediate magician is Zack's father, and Zack himself is still an elementary magician.
However, no matter how much Zach is a junior magician, he is in a better position than a junior magician in the junior magician clan because of his intermediate magician clan.
So Seiya, at the bottom of the junior magician clan, can't go against Zach of the intermediate magician clan and can only be recieved with a bitter laugh all the time.
This was the daily routine.
That time will be over if the school starts chimes, so it's patience until then. If Seyya, who has no power or strength in the house, commits a rambling assault on another person, Seyya will be expelled from school, not just for her legitimacy.
No matter how much Seiya is right, as long as there is the power of the house, Seiya is the weakest in Senavian Magic School at the bottom of the magician.
Less than a minute after Zach and the others began to tangle in Seyya, the chime of initiation rings, and Lamia, who is in charge of Seyya's class, enters the classroom.
I can feel something called cool adult tone from my red, long hair and Lamia with red eyes. But that gaze always increases and is harsh.
Lamia is an intermediate magician clan and she herself is an intermediate magician. Among the Cenavian Magic Schools, she has top-notch prowess in melee and is a magician known in Windistan for her fire attributes.
All classmates perceive such a harsher look on her face than usual.
"Good morning, everyone. There are no absentees... Now, listen to me because I have important contacts. There have been a number of manhunts for magicians around here in recent times. Not only the Church but also the Episcopal Church have an investigation team on this matter, so I think the killer will be caught soon, but for once, be careful."
A church I told her is an institution that manages every part of the world, and it is the Episcopal Church in Rheinz, the capital of the central kingdom of the Kingdom of Leiria, that brings that church together.
The Episcopal Church used to have a goddess named Leena-Maria, but those who suddenly disappeared decades ago and were now subordinates govern this kingdom of Leiria as the Seven Wise Men jointly.
And the Church is in the centers of all the regions of Frestan, Aquaristan and Windistan, which are three equal parts around the central kingdom, and is the institution that manages all the regions.
There is no such thing as a goddess in the Church, and it consists of several representatives from all over the place and several seconded by the Episcopal Church.
If you look at the kingdom of Leiria from above, its shape is donut shaped.
A large wall surrounds the outside of these three regions, centered around the central kingdom, around which the capital is located, so that Frestan, Aquaristan and Windistan are divided into three equal parts.
Outside the walls lies a land known as the Dark Territory, inhabited by a beast called the Warcraft instead of a man, and the Warcraft is very ferocious and sometimes breaks into the walls.
Churches everywhere are to be responsible for resolving warcraft intrusions, incidents, etc. But only if there's a vicious incident or a great deal of damage and the churches everywhere can't do anything about it, can people be dispatched from the Episcopal Church.
In other words, this case is either vicious or devastating.
By the way, why is there such a thing as grabbing people, because if you put it simply, magicians are money by ransom and human trafficking. The captured house pays the ransom to take back my son, and the value of a magician is high if you traffick in human beings.
Especially when it becomes considerably more expensive than intermediate magicians. Because there is something called the inherent magic of that clan in a clan of intermediate magicians and above.
Inherent magic is a sine qua non for becoming an intermediate magician and can be considered a symbol of that clan.
If the captured child possessed inherent magic, it is no exaggeration to say that the child possessed the secrets of the clan.
If the child is sold to another clan, the clan tries to prevent it at all costs because the clan's inherent magical secrets are lost. So it's a lot of money.
Even if the captured child did not possess inherent magic, only the eldest son desperately tries to take it back. That's because the eldest son is more likely to be the next party leader of the clan, and was often raised by hand salt than when he was a child.
Conversely, in the case of two or three men, I would try to get them back, but I wouldn't be so desperate.
It was my own fault that I was caught using magic, and if I wanted to survive, I'd do something on my own.
This seems ruthless at first glance, but is natural as someone who deals with magic, and most magicians are prepared.
The path of the abandoned child is mostly a choice between being sold off and becoming a mercenary or being collared and enslaved, either way from those who grab it, it becomes gold.
In this way, the value of magicians is high, and because of the high demand, the grabbing of people becomes gold.
Therefore, the School of Magic, where the magician's eggs are gathered, is, if I may say so, a haven of great money. Even so, although there are teachers with experience in action and they are not easy to grab.
So it was unusual to grab people in a city where there was a magic school.
That's it. That's it.
Lamia leaves that at the end of her contact and leaves the classroom. This is how a new day for the Senavian School of Magic began.
