Falling Mage and the Power of Divergence
Outside II Lesson 1 From the Episcopal Church (top)
In the capital Rheinz, in the central kingdom of the Kingdom of Leiria, lies the Episcopal Church in the heart of this country.
The Episcopal Church is an institution that manages the churches in Frestan, Windistan and Aquaristan, mainly in the central kingdom with its capital Rheinz, and keeps the peace in this country daily.
At the top of the Episcopal Church there was a goddess named Leena-Maria until a few decades ago, but now because of her disappearance, those who were her seven men are at the top of the Episcopal Church as the Seven Wise Men.
The current Seven Wise Men are somewhat different from the members they were able to make decades ago, and since four of the members of the time died, it is the current Episcopal Church that added four as replenishments.
And beneath the Seven Wise Men are those called the Thirteen Apostles.
The Thirteenth Apostle is a brilliant magician gathered from all over the Kingdom of Leiria, and if it is said that there will be thirteen in all, and that the families of magicians everywhere will also be thirteen apostles of the Episcopal Church, they will gladly send them to the Episcopal Church, even if they are eldest sons or can use their inherent magic.
So much so that the Thirteenth Apostle is an honorable title.
And each of the thirteen apostles has his own unit, and when problems arise, he gets his crew out of his unit and hits a solution to the problem. If the crew cannot deal with it alone, they may be able to deploy themselves.
With such a mechanism, the Episcopal Church had ruled this country since the disappearance of Leena-Maria, with no particular problems.
There were two men in such a room on the third floor of the Episcopal Church, in the Eighth Conference Room.
One man is a neat-faced man with long silver hair, sitting in a chair, listening to the other.
The other man, a strong looking man with short brown hair, had a sword on his hips and was talking to a sitting man.
I just said the two men are young and their looks are in their early twenties. But I can see that their faces are somewhat harsh and imminent situations for young people.
"What do you think of the captain on this one?
"What do you think?
"I thought I was unnatural."
"Better...... what's the place?
That's what the silver-haired man asks me. A brown-haired man tells me why he thinks so.
"Yes, it's the killer first. Though the culprit is not a central kingdom, he is being held hostage throughout the kingdom of Leiria. I know because the central kingdom is tightly guarded, but doing so would be too far-reaching. The risk of travel is too high, even if the base is not one."
"Sure."
What you two are talking about is about the many indiscriminate kidnappings that have taken place here recently.
It was a matter of people being caught everywhere, and the Episcopal Church was embarking on an investigation, judging it to be an anomaly as well.
"It's the magician and the girl who got caught by it. I know magicians use them as mercenaries, but what the hell do girls use them for?
"Grease is right, I agree. I don't know the clear aim of the killer."
The silver-haired man replied that to his subordinate, Gris-Greilia.
Grease is a senior magician affiliated with the Episcopal Church and captain of a live battle force specializing in fire attribute magic.
And the silver-haired man also thinks just like Grease and wonders about this case.
"Was the captain, too? Maybe the killer is selling the girl and carrying the magician who kidnapped her with that money?
"Oh, I thought about that too... I guess it's impossible"
"So there's no ransom demand."
"Yes."
The name of the silver-haired man troubled with grease is Basil Eight.
He is one of the thirteenth Apostles of the Episcopal Church, one of the magicians belonging to the Episcopal Church and only thirteen in this country, a man located in eighth place in the sequence.
By the way, the name Basil-Ate is not his real name, his real name is Basil-Narberia.
Like Grease, Basil is a family of senior magicians and head of Grease's unit.
Why the name has changed, the Thirteenth Apostle has a custom of abandoning his family name at the same time as becoming the Thirteenth Apostle and numbering the sequences within the Thirteenth Apostle.
So in the case of Basil, the sequence within the Thirteenth Apostle is the eighth, so it becomes the Eight.
The native of Basil, who specializes in ice attributes, is a city in the Aquaristan region, and it was five years before he was elected Apostle XIII.
Basil, who was around eighteen at the time, was initially not positive about becoming a thirteen apostle. But because his house, the House of Naberia, gave him a strong backing, he became reluctantly the Thirteenth Apostle.
But Basil, who became the Thirteenth Apostle, began to exercise more than ever, as his initial lack of motivation was a lie.
The reason for this is the truth about this country brought about by the Seven Wise Men.
The Thirteenth Apostle is taught the existence of the Great Empire of Dacrea and the Dark Attribute Magic, at the same time that he was recognized from the Seven Wise Men to the Thirteenth Apostle.
And it is also informed of the possibility that there may be a war between the Great Empire of Dacrea and the Kingdom of Leiria. Basil learned the truth and began to train more than ever.
Only the Seven Wise Men and the Thirteen Apostles, and then a handful of magicians, know about the outside of the Kingdom of Leiria. For this reason, Basil has not even taught Grease, a subordinate of his belly heart, about Dacrea.
I get anxiety in the basil.
That means that maybe Dacrea is involved in this case. When I thought about it that way, Basil was anxious and had no choice.
To Basil, who thinks that, Grease says.
"No ransom demands mean we're carrying everyone who's been abducted, right?
"Don't be."
"But if you do, you'll be checking your bags at every interrogation post in the area, right?
"Then the victim will make a scene at the inquest."
"That's right."
From villages to villages, from cities to cities, from regions to regions, etc., in the Kingdom of Leiria, baggage inspections are carried out so much so that it can be said that they must be carried out when travelling. It is to prevent the smuggling of illegal goods and the spill of inherent magic, and it is nearly impossible to avoid inspections.
"Then, don't assume that the means of travel and the home base are everywhere."
"Yes."
"But no reports have come up from churches everywhere."
"What does that mean?
Given the boldness and scale of the offense, we can also see the number of killers. And the large number of killers means that the base of the killers is quite large or quite a few.
Naturally, the larger the size, the more information we should be able to find about the killers. But this time the killer is as if he were a ghost, and he can't grasp it.
"I don't know, but there's only one way to clear the current conditions"
"Is that the way?
"Dark realm."
"Captain, that's as much as it takes..."
To Basil's mouthed words, Grease denies them with a bitter laugh.
Because even though the dark realm is difficult for ordinary people to get out, there's no way criminal organizations can get out into the dark realm.
Besides, the Dark Realm is the home of the Warcraft. The killers won't be that stupid either. Grease thought so.
"After the kidnapping, the killer left for the Dark Territory and moved to his home base in the Dark Territory."
"Sure, then we have fulfilled earlier conditions, but there are warcraft in the Dark Territories. If you don't defeat that beast, it will soon be destroyed."
"What if we can defeat the Warcraft?
"No way... the captain says the magician is a mastermind..."
"Oh, that's more than a senior magician, too"
"No way......"
Grease losing words to Basil's outrageous reasoning.
If it's true the way Basil said it, I can explain how it is now.
I can't find a base, there's no way I can find it if it's in the dark. Plus, if you're a family of senior magicians, your luggage inspection should be monkey.
However, it was not believable.
"If it's a family of advanced magicians, it's easy to find warcraft around here."
"Sure, if you're a family of advanced magicians, you can go out to the dark realm without checking the carrier, even if you say warcraft crusade to the gatekeeper. What kind of magician clan..."
"I don't know where it is, but I think it's likely."
"Is this story up there?
"No, let's just keep it for the two of us yet"
"Okay."
When they were in the conference room with a strange look on their faces, one man hurried in. Grease gets angry at the man who came in without even knocking.
"You! How dare you come in without knocking?
"Su, excuse me"
The man who came in without even knocking, while apologizing, tells the two of them the information he had just received.
"Earlier, I heard from a church in Windistan that the killer was captured."
"What?"
"Is that true?
"Yes!"
The two of them are surprised by the breaking news that arrived at an indescribable time.
But we're both good magicians. Switch right away and ask for more information.
"What's your name?
"It's Bean."
"Bean, you need to go to the church in Windistan right now and contact me. And now Basil's on his way."
"Okay."
When Basil orders, Bean hurries to Windistan.
Dropping off the bean leaving the room, the two remaining in the room started talking with a serious face.
"Grease, right now we're heading to Windistan too"
"Okay. How are the troops?
"You seem to know the case isn't over yet. Assemble only Grease and each unit leader. That's all I need."
"You collect the rest over there, don't you?
"Yes."
The two were to be ready to head to Windistan immediately.
