Falling Mage and the Power of Divergence

Lesson 106: A Letter from the Episcopal Church

Two mornings after the Sayers returned from Dacrya, a single letter was sent to Riger. The first to receive the letter, Melina immediately delivers the letter to Riger.

"Excuse me. Sir, the Episcopal Church has sent a letter to your husband."

"From the Episcopal Church?

Rigger in the face. As Riger, who places his daughter, who uses sacred attributes, a candidate for a stepson who deals with heretical powers, and even a fairy, Undine, at home, he did not want to engage with the Episcopal Church if possible.

But it must have been something because it is rare to receive a letter directly from the Episcopal Church.

"This!?

Riger's face suddenly gets tough after reading the writ.

"Melina, call Seyya to this room. Now."

"Yes, sir."

That's what Melina says, she goes to call about Seyya, who would be in the room. Reiger, who remained in the room, further narrowed his eyes when he reviewed the letter he had received.

"Trouble again..."

When Melina went to her room to get Seyya, Seyya was already awake. There were also Yua and Lili in the room, but Melina leaves the room with only Seiya. The leftover Yours looked dissatisfied, but if Ryger was calling, there was no choice.

In fact, the Yours had gathered in Seyya's room to discuss the remaining members of the Leirian Magic Games, which were currently withheld from opening.

The three Seyyas have already been entrenched in the Arsenian School of Magic representatives, but the other three were undecided, so we need to pick them as soon as possible.

Even so, the other three have already made up their minds in the Saiyas, and all they have to do is make an offer. There's a chance I can say no, but those three wouldn't say no first.

When Melina takes me and Seyya sits in front of Riger, the conversation begins immediately.

"So, what are you talking about? I have to make an offer to the rest of you for the Leirian Magic Games."

"Oh, I know. It has to do with it. The Episcopal Church sent me a letter this morning."

"What? What's in it?

"There's a lot going on, but at first it's about Leonardo, the school director"

That's a case Seiya asked me to look into with her when she reported Zadman to Basil. I didn't quite hear from Basil about the findings, but apparently he sent the results as an Episcopal Church.

"So how'd it go? Was he a Dacrya person, too?

"No, he's a Leirian person. And he said he was found dead yesterday. Probably Zadman."

"Right."

"Oh, with that, the Episcopal Church is appointing me as Acting Dean of the Arsenian School of Magic."

Seiya wasn't close to Leonardo apart, and I honestly didn't think she was dead because I've never seen her that much. More surprising than that is the appointment of Riger's Acting Dean of the School.

When a magic school dean is killed, a new dean must be set up as soon as possible. But there was a case where the head teacher was a Dacrya person, so it's not that easy to choose.

That's why the Episcopal Church nominated the most trusted Riger in the city of Mole as its surrogate because the absence of the school director was also poor at this time of refraining from the Leirian Magic Games.

"Well, I don't care about that. The problem is next."

"Do you still have it?

"Oh, it's more important this way, one way or the other. Two people, Issi-Absona and Serena-Phoenix, have been caught by the Episcopal Church on the grounds that they entered the dark realm on their own"

"What!?

Seyya rises up in absurdity with her voice. I left Serena and Aisi to Basil, so I thought it was exactly what they were both coming back to Leiria for.

"Calm down."

"Sorry."

That's how Seiya gets to her seat again. Apparently, Melena, who is holding back behind Riger, is also surprised, and the poker face collapsed only for a moment.

"Probably a stoppage about Dacrya, so for the time being, it'll be fine"

"Right. So what are we gonna do? If I don't let you two go, do you threaten me with talking about Dacrea or something?

"Seriously, I wouldn't do that. It's definitely something I want to keep secret about Dacrea over there, so I don't think I'll probably be doing this to you two unless this one moves. But I don't think I'm going to let you go."

Ryger's words make Seiya's expression tough.

"Then what are we going to do?

"Then I'll be fine. Think about it, Seyya, I'm the dean of the Arsenian School of Magic, albeit surrogate at the moment. And now we're holding off on the Leirian Magic Games."

"I see."

Seiya immediately understands Riger's thoughts.

Ryger intends to demand as the dean of the Arsenian School of Magic (...) to release the two main players as the Leirian Magic Games begin. That way, the Episcopal Church has to free the two of us even if we don't like it.

If the Arsenian School of Magic were to lose at the Leirian Magic Games without emancipation, one might say it was the Episcopal Church's fault. At such a busy time as an Episcopal Church, you shouldn't want to invite such a thing, even if you don't like it.

"So, Seiya. I want you to take this letter to the Episcopal Church."

"Me?

Sayer asked Riger to retrieve the letter. I was wondering if Seyya, who has heretical powers, could board the Episcopal Church or something.

"Oh, you're the best fit. I can go, but I'll be on guard. In that regard, you're just a student who's not even known to exist, so vigilance should be loose over there. And just in case, you can bring them back with you."

I do get Riger's point, but I have a lot of problems.

"Well, I guess I get it, but what about force? It's tough for you to deal with the Episcopal Church, no matter how much. Besides, there's no way any other superiors are gonna shut up."

"I'm fine. Don't worry, I have powerful allies when I have to."

Riger speaking with confidence.

"You're a powerful ally. Can you believe that?

"Oh, don't worry, those guys are on your side too"

"Right."

If Riger is going to be so sure, he'll be fine. Saiya thinks so and stops prying with powerful allies.

"Can you ask?

"Okay. Originally, it's bad that I acted differently from the two of you, so I'll take responsibility."

"I'd appreciate it if you could say that"

"Does that mean you and I and Yours get caught, too?

That was also a source of concern for Seyya. The fact that Serena and the others were captured means that Seyya and the others were also complicit. If you're going to stop talking, it's not weird to come and get the Sayers.

"That's okay. The Episcopal Church is not that stupid either. You won't be able to move on your own in this city in my sight."

"I mean, I'm out of this city, you mean dangerous?

"Your strength would be fine, wouldn't it? And this time I'll have you accompany Melena. Melena also helps me with my work, so the Episcopal Church should have a face."

"Really?

Seiya asked Melena, who would refrain behind Riger, and Melena nodded cocklessly.

"So get in the Episcopal Church with confidence. Yours is my responsibility to protect you."

"It's obvious."

I think it's natural because she's my own daughter, Seiya. Riger was laughing when he saw Saiya's face like that.

"And what about the rendezvous point? It's going to be the Leirian Magic Games soon, so you're going to need a last-minute sleepover, right?

"That's true, if possible collaborate or something..."

It has not yet been confirmed by the members, but it will be necessary to practice for the Leirian Magic Games. In particular, the practice of collaboration is mandatory, and sometimes the difference in collaboration determines the winning or losing of a match.

"So, a little early, but you want to go into the city of Orna first? At any rate, the game venue is the city of Orna. You won't have a problem getting in early. How about rendezvous in the city of Orna?

"The city of Orna..."

"Speaking of which, you did. Bad."

"No, I'm fine"

The city was once inhabited by Seyya, as is the Senavian School of Magic, which was once attended.

I'd lie if I said I didn't think of anything, but I still don't have very good memories. Some gentle people, such as Edward and John the Bakery, were more memorable in their eyes to despise Seyya than that.

Already Seiya is not just a junior magician clan, she also has the title of fiancée of a special magician clan. Still, the Windistan magicians will see Seyya with contempt.

But I didn't care about that anymore for Seiya. Now Saiya has some of her favorite fiancées, Yua, and Lily and her trusted companions. Whatever it is around you, if Saiya has such loved ones, that's fine.

"Then join us in the city of Orna, please"

"Okay. I'll take the inn this way, so I'll follow up with you."

Copy that.

Seiya nods and tries to go back to her room once to take a seat and get ready. But at the end of opening the door of the room, there were the appearances of Yua and Lily, whose faces seemed very disturbing.
