Falling Mage and the Power of Divergence
Episode 108: Rest Stop
Seyya and Melena, who run demonic horses, were currently in the mountains on the northern side of the Aquaristan region.
The surroundings are surrounded by high minds, and the two of them continue down the main road formed among the green trees. Because of the high altitude, or because it's summer, it's cool, and the wind I feel on the devil's horse is pleasant. Even so, Seyya couldn't afford to feel that way though.
No matter how many demonic horses the central kingdom with the city of Orna and the Episcopal Church where the Seyyas live, it will take as little as three days, and the two plan to proceed while staying in the village along the way.
"Saiya, if you fly any more, it's dangerous"
"Oh, wow."
Seiya tries to increase speed by increasing the magic she unconsciously pours into her demonic horse. Melena, a companion, stops talking about such a seiya.
The two of them are in a hurry, but their speed is far beyond the limit.
In the first place, it would be three times more distant from the city of Orna to Dakulia II than from the central kingdom. In other words, if Seyya and Melena increase the speed of their demonic horses to their limit, it is possible for the two of them to reach the Central Kingdom in one day.
But it is in the kingdom of Leiria, where people live, not in the dark territories, that the two of them are now.
If you increase your speed like the dark realm, you can't because you create the kind of danger that collides with people. Seyya had managed to keep her speed down while still feeling the odds about it.
Melena has already cautioned about Seyya about three times that she unconsciously increases her speed. I know you want to help your people for a moment, but if you get into an accident, it's the end of the line.
Running a horse for a while, a small village shows up before the two of them. As the sun is already leaning, perhaps the two of them will reveal this evening in this village. They approach the entrance to the village as they slow down the demonic horse.
"Stop!"
"What does it look like!?
As the two approach the entrance, several armed men, who would be gatekeepers, show up.
Some have swords on their hips, some have big axes, some have sharp spears, and some have big bows. Seiya felt that it was quite a habit because of the atmosphere the men wrapped up in.
Melena stops about Seya and Melena approaches the gatekeeper as Seya tries to get off the demonic horse to tell her what she is doing.
The gatekeepers took an alert stance with their weapons against the approaching Melena, but when they saw Melena's face, they immediately changed their attitude.
"This is Lord Melena!
"Long time no see!
"How are you?
"Isn't that Lord Instructor!
As the gatekeepers suddenly ease their attitude, they begin saluting towards Melena. Melena tells the gatekeepers she doesn't know what happened.
"I'm not a teacher anymore"
"" "No, Lord Melena will always be our instructor" "
I alternate between the four of you saluting Melena with a face that's even more distracting than earlier, and I'm wondering what the hell the relationship is, Seiya.
"By the way, what business is the Teacher in Gonra Village?
The village of Gonra is the name of this village, a small village located in the Gudrus Mountains near the border between Aquaristan and the Central Kingdom.
To get from Aquaristan to the Central Kingdom, you always need to pass through this village, and for that reason you are well guarded.
If we wanted to do it, it would be possible to cross the Gudrus Mountains without going through the village of Gonra, but given the food problems and the dangers of mountain animals, it was better to stay overnight in this village.
"I'm going to the Episcopal Church, but I want to spend the night here today"
"Is that true?
"I'll arrange a room right away"
"Please come inside for a moment and wait"
"I'll be calling the village chief soon."
The moment Melena says she wants to stay, the four of them move out tightly. But there one notices the presence of Seyya, and asks with a glance about Seyya.
"By the way, Master Instructor, who is the blonde there from earlier?
"It looks pretty hand-worked from what I've seen, but is it an enemy?
Gatekeepers stare at Seyya with vigilance max. Those eyes are so harsh that they are still going to jump on Seyya, and Seyya is alert.
The gatekeepers also noticed that the atmosphere of Seyya had changed in an instant, making them even more alert. It's just a one-touch state of affairs.
"It's okay, 'cause we're buddies"
"Oops, that's rude"
"Were you a fellow instructor?"
"You're young, but you seem quite hands-on."
"That's the instructor, sir."
"Duh, thanks."
In a word of Melena, the gatekeepers, who have lifted their guard against Seyya, now mistake Seyya for Melena's men. Seiya had trouble correcting it, so she decided to play Melena's men without saying anything.
"You're wasting your time. I'll call the village chief right away."
"Please."
That being said, one of the gatekeepers disappears into the back of the village, and Seyya and Melena are passed to a table just outside the gate and served cold juice.
The juice has an orange juice-like color and looks very tasty. Seyya sipped that juice, and when she included it in her mouth, her mouth felt southerly.
"Good."
"Right? It's a specialty from this village."
"What juice is that?
"It's a juice mixed with the fruit of an orange pal named Capol and a pomegranate named Brucia. They are both delicious fruits that can be taken in this village. It's not very tasty as it is, but it's totally different when juiced."
It was Melena, not the gatekeeper, who answered Seyya's question. Seiya feels surprised at how Melena looks like that.
"Melena knows this village well."
"Sort of."
"That's right! The Teacher General once trained the men of this village who were only to be vandalized by the bandits. Since then, the bandits have disappeared and this village has been able to focus safely on agriculture. That and all of this, thanks to Lord Melena and Master Riger!
"Really?"
Seiya replies in confusion to a man who speaks hot as he gets strangely hot. Apparently, Melena in this village is closer to a hero than a servant of a superior magician.
When Seyya thinks about it, the man who was going to the village chief returns and takes the Seyyas to the village chief.
Seyya and Melena are guided inside the village. Melena seems to have come to the village of Gonra many times, walking normally, but Seiya, who first came to the village of Gonra, was intrigued by the whole village.
The first thing that caught my eye was the location of the house.
Unlike ordinary cities and villages, houses in the village of Gonra are all built on trees, and water supplies and the like extend from branch to branch. From the house on the tree is a rope, and apparently people are going up and down to the house with one of those ropes.
"Is that unusual?
"Oh."
It was the youngest man among the gatekeepers who questioned Seyya, who looked strangely all over the village. He is a handsome man of soothing height with short black hair in his mid-twenties and feels like a handsome brother he can rely on.
"Originally this village and the house were usually on the ground. But the ones who go to the Central Kingdom, the ones who go through this village, they're mostly all the people who ask questions and the people who translate ants, and they're going to get in trouble for something."
Normally, when the Seyyas head from the city of Mole where they live to the Central Kingdom, it is normal to pass through the city of Wandale, located in the northern part of Aquaristan, before entering the Central Kingdom.
There are no mountains or other along the way for directions from the city of Wandale, with flat terrain, many people living and very prosperous.
But for that matter, because of the time it took, like this time in Seyya, the hurry went through the village of Gonra to the central kingdom.
"We couldn't do anything about the people in trouble, we just had to quietly pray that they would leave.
At that point, Master Riger and the Teacher came to the village, who happened to be in a hurry and headed for the Episcopal Church. Lady Rieger, who found out what's going on in this village, left me with the Teacher's Palace while I went to the Episcopal Church. "
The story of a handsome man with dark hair interrupts there once and changes his expression. From the unusual look on his face, he seemed to have a strong fear of the past, and with a trembling voice he made Saiya listen to the rest.
"That month was just hell...... I was trained for both young and old in a situation where it wasn't weird when I died...... Some things are made to wave their swords barely all week long, some are even made to practice poking at them with spears, some are made to keep pulling their bows all the time, even if their arms shake..."
"Wow, okay, that's enough. Don't."
Before a handsome man whose voice as well as his entire body shivered as he spoke, Seyya could no longer hear the rest of the story.
The handsome man was still trembling after he stopped talking, and Seiya wondered who the hell Melena was to get him this far, but better not think about it, forcing him to self-complete and finish his thoughts.
That's how they got to the house where the village chief is, and one rope at a time goes up to the house on the tree.
There was a fine house when I went up on the tree.
It's not just the house, it's farmland on gardens, water trucks, cattle and pigs, to far from it, and Seyya really wants to suspect that this is the place on the tree.
Your feet are as firm as the ground, and no matter how much pressure you exert, they don't sound at all. Seyya and Melena are guided inside a house built on such a strange tree. There were five old men in the house.
"Village chief, I've brought you"
"This, this, Lord Melena, has been a long time. Well done. I was in the village of Gonra."
"Long time no see, Village Chief Dada. And I'm a servant, so please do as you normally do."
"No, there is no annihilation either. You are the hero and savior of this village, and you cannot be rude."
"But..."
The little old man, who gave birth to a shivering white beard as he pecked at Melena, was a man like Koala if you put it in a nutshell.
Its tender looking face that doesn't make you feel as much as pieces of what you call majesty, and more importantly, its white eyelashes that hide you to the point of your eyes.
(Where does this guy have eyes?
Seiya thought of that in her heart, but instantly realized she could never let it out in her mouth.
"By the way, Lord Melena, you want to stay in this village today?
"Yes, I'd like to ask you to join me for one night."
"Excuse me, what about this one?
"This is a magician named Christina-Saya. He is currently a resident of the Arunya family."
"You're not the enemy, are you?
"Yes."
"Hey, thanks."
The village chiefs and the old men who were at home, and the four gatekeepers who came with them, began to blurt together, and Seyya greeted him with confusion.
Apparently, he's interested in the man Melena brought in, the village chief who takes an interesting look at Seyya. Saiya said, "Where the hell is it, eyes?" But I had to laugh bitterly.
"Whoa, excuse me. If you want to stay, please come to my house. I think my wife will be home soon."
"But that's... annoying to your wife if you come all of a sudden..."
Melena answers reluctantly, but the village chief says with a laugh.
"It's okay, my wife will be delighted."
"But..."
It was when Melena had a troubled look on her face.
"Enemy attack!!!!!"
Such a voice echoed in the woods.
