Falling Mage and the Power of Divergence

Lesson 232: The Episcopal Church also works

The students are not the only ones who have made a move with Saiya's special magician inauguration and the Dark Territory Dispatch. Those who gave the news were also moving.

"Thank you for coming together today"

It was Kevin, the youngest of the Seven Wise Men, who looked around with those words. Even so, I am an adult of fifty years of age. And sitting in front of Kevin are six human beings who sit on the throne of the Seven Wise Men, just like him.

It is up to the Seven Wise Men to gather this time by Kevin's prophecy.

"By the way, Kevin, what are you doing today?

"I would have made up my mind about that boy"

Conrad and Eladio stare at Kevin. I know exactly what I'm trying to say to that gaze that it would be an agenda that we would bother to call ourselves to and discuss.

The usual Kevin on that gaze is going to apologize soon, but Kevin had a different leg today.

"Hehe, of course. But Sir Conrad, Sir Eladio. He wants to talk about future magicians."

"Future magician?

"Yes, I think the Dacrea raid the other day is new to my memory"

Kevin's reference to the Dacrea raid is, of course, to the Leirian Magic Games. Though ostensibly a coup by the rebels, the concealed Seven Wise Men know the truth about it. And the threat of Dacrea.

"His case is catastrophic if you make a mistake. Five and an example boy, no, it was because there was an example boy that Leiria's future was preserved, as well."

"What do you want to say?

"You don't want me to let that boy survive now?

Eladio asked if you wanted to complain about the treatment of Seyya, which has already been decided. But Kevin is not that stupid either.

"No, no way. I was just wondering if you all realized the practicality of unchanging."

"Ho. So your lord wants to discuss unchanging?

"That's right. Sir Alfredo."

Unchanted, it is common today to use demonic crystal stones in Leiria without dark attributes. But Kevin wanted to discuss it again.

"So, what are you trying to say?

Conrad asks grumpy.

"Unchanted is powerful. It was proven at the Leirian Magic Games. That's where I should have thought. We don't need chants, either."

Certainly unchanging is powerful. But no one would struggle if it were that easy. That's what the Seven Wise Men thought except for Kevin. But not just Kevin. I had already prepared a secret plan.

"Certainly unchanging is powerful. But nowadays I can make it up to you with the Demon Crystal."

"You're right. But Demon Crystal Stone is not omnipotent. It's more of a deterioration."

"What are you trying to say?

"In principle, there is one magic that can be preserved in the Demonic Crystal Stone. But the magic that magicians use is again. If you do have a demonic crystal stone, you can fight in your favor with no chant. But that's only when they're the same Leirian magicians."

The Seven Wise Men silent in Kevin's explanation. Kevin's claim is true, as well as an issue that has hitherto been missed.

"You can't fight with the Magician of Dacrea with the Magic Stone in your opponent. This one magic is unchanging, while the other can exercise multiple magic unchanging. With the exception of the Thirteen Apostles and others, the power of the Leirian side is inferior. And the Demon Crystal has also lost its output in recent years."

That is a fact and an agenda that we will have to discuss one day. Kevin was made to feel so bad about the problem in this Dacrea raid. So I convened the Seven Wise Men until I set up a place for discussion.

"If you're going to say that much, I guess there's a solution?

"Absolutely."

Taking Conrad's gaze, Kevin smiles before approaching the door. Then he opened the door and pulled the person who was outside inside.

"Please come in."

"Yes..."

It was an old man who seemed weak coming into the room. The age seems to be higher than Kevin's, but that attitude is poor for Kevin as well.

"What about him?

"Yes, his name is Boct-Flamel. I'm a teacher at the Senavian School of Magic in Windistan."

The man's identity was Teacher Bokt at the Senavian School of Magic.

"I'll be the first to see you...... It's Bokt......"

"Mr. Bokt is a prominent player in magical chanting and a leader in unchanging research."

Hearing the words, the Seven Wise Men recall the news of Bokt.

"I did complete the unchanging a few years ago, but the study was discontinued, indicating its risks and dangers. I heard he disappeared from the magical chanting world after that."

"Yes, but this time I called."

This was Kevin's secret. Bokt is a person who has completed the theory of unchanging magic exercises that use neither dark attributes nor demonic crystal stones, and is a big guy who even has some things he still wants to direct.

And Kevin, I thought about using the big guy in the box.

"I advance here. To prepare for the rebel coup and to create an unchanging-specific unit in our ecclesiastical forces. We'd like you to join us, Mr. Bokt."

Decided. Kevin was so sure.

"I see. By the way, Mr. Bokt, is it possible to chant unchanging?

"Yes. Theoretically possible. Dear Alfredo."

"Hmm, by the way, your lord stopped researching as dangerous. Am I right?

"That's right. Unchanted chanting carries the risk of an explosion associated with a magical reflux."

"Specifically?

"Magic originally expresses the magic in the magician's body into this world through the magic formation. And the magic formation is built by the chant of the operator, and the longer the chant, the firmer the structure. But when it goes unchanging, the magic formations are brittle, they collapse easily, and the magic cannot be exercised."

"I see."

"But it's still okay that I can't exercise it. The problem is if it was subtly brittle. In that case, if you use the magic flowing from the magician as a positive stream, you may lose momentum and reflux around crossing the magic formation. If that happens, positive and reverse currents collide and explode, causing a catastrophe to the operator..."

That was the danger of unchanging. That's why Bokt, who discovered this, shut down the research. But what they have to do with is usefulness, not danger. Some risks are borderline.

"Mr. Bokt. Can that danger be eliminated if we continue our research?

"Yes, there is no certainty, but if it is possible"

"Ho."

"I see."

"If this is it"

Voices of anticipation rise in Bokt's answer.

"Then let's go with the vote. If you are in favour of the establishment of an unannounced unit in the Episcopal Church or, hey, the introduction of an unannounced unit, raise your hand."

All hands up.

It's a unanimous decision.

Thus began a new attempt in the Episcopal Church as well. And from that day on, Bokt's name disappeared from the teacher roster at the Senavian School of Magic.
