Falling Mage and the Power of Divergence

Episode 266: Dr. Daldal.

"Then, Master Seiya, I would like to start studying today"

Lecture of the day, which began with a Daldar greeting. Seiya was informed the day before by Rona's mouth about her showdown with Noah, which was ten years ago, but that doesn't change her daily routine. Seiya's determination to be in Noah and hear what happened to her parents and her study of Dakulia is a different matter.

"Well, today is about adventurers."

"Adventurer?

Seiya necks today's theme. While it is true that adventurers are the only culture in Dacrya and may also need to know about its system and work, Seyya felt that it seemed to have a lower priority than her previous studies. But in fact, it was important to learn about adventurers.

"Seiya is already an adventurer, so I'm guessing you know her system and her work."

"I'm going to know some things. The Adventurer belongs to the Alliance and gets the job done from that Alliance. And the ranks fluctuate according to their merits."

"Exactly."

That degree of explanation is before breakfast for Seiya, where registration as a D-rank adventurer already lives. Instead, it's weirder to be a D-rank adventurer given Seyya's accomplishments so far, but I can't reveal that he just prevented the invasion of Demon King Detodelion-Belzebub, too, over and above having Demon King Broad-Mamon in his hands. Besides, Seiya is the next Great Demon King Lucifer, and it doesn't matter how much she appreciates being an adventurer.

"So you also know the faction of adventurers, etc?

"Faction?"

Even Saiya just didn't know the adventurer had a faction. In Seyya's image, the adventurer was a kind of floater, and he never thought there was a faction to get a job and live in a near-field guild.

"Just as demon kings have factions, so do adventurers."

"Does that feel like a radical and moderate?

"You're right. The faction of adventurers can basically be seen in their guild."

"I see, is that what you mean"

Seiya finally understood what Daldar intended here. On second thought, the structure was even simpler.

"There is only one guild in each district, so should we assume that the guild rests on the breath of the Demon King who governs that district"

"Exactly. Especially at the top of the Alliance, you may receive work from each Demon King, so let's say you are highly adhesive."

From the mouth of it, I'm guessing Daldar is also asking the Alliance for some work. But if the story is to that extent, Daldar doesn't bother to make it the subject of today's study either. As a matter of fact, there was a way ahead.

"But some of them don't think well of the demons."

"Who doesn't think well of the demon kings? Does that mean you're unhappy with the current system?

"Yeah, and they're gaining strength here lately."

Rapids and moderates, it may be inevitable when it comes to the emergence of new third forces there. Though they are called radicals and moderates, both parties have the existence of a demon king rule with the Great Demon King Lucifer at the top as a premise. But if you try to be adventurers, it's not strange that the existence of the Demon King is questioned in the first place.

In addition, it is also true that adventurers do not like to be ruled by anyone because of the majority of those made up of strength. Then it is inevitable to question the Demon King's rule and rise up with the Demon King's rule.

"Recently, that means it used to be different?

"Yes. Back in the day, though, until about twenty years ago, most adventurers never questioned Demon King rule. That, for one thing, was because of the great presence of the Great Demon King Keith-Lucifer. Master Keith was ruling this country with his overwhelming strength and popularity."

Speaking of twenty years ago, it was still a time when Keith was in the status of the Great Demon King Lucifer, and before Seyya was born.

"But Master Keith disappeared and the country became temporarily unstable. Gilanel also worked hard, but some of the people became disgusted with Master Keith, who abandoned himself and disappeared, and began to question the reign of the Demon King."

From what I heard about that, it seemed like Keith could do nothing but blame me for what he did, but I can't blame him if I take into account what he had done with his kid or his decision with Noah ten years ago.

"So there's a demon king?

"Certainly the tide of the Demon King has intensified since those days. But only the lower-ranked among the adventurers of the time cried out for the Demon King. Advanced Rank Adventurers rarely complained about the Demon King because of his work as their primary cause."

I see, Saiya thought. I guess those of the adventurers who are in the upper layers are not dissatisfied with the current system if they say so. I do not think I would rather abandon that system, which is favoured. Conversely, it is easy for junior adventurers who are poorly treated to embark on structural reforms by saying that they are poorly treated because of problems with the current system.

"You mean the less powerful you are, the more dissatisfied with the system of that era"

"Exactly."

Seiya didn't remember much of the thought. It is true that Seiya in the fall era was not less dissatisfied with the tide that magic was everything. I seriously thought it would be okay if the ratings of swordsmanship and martial arts accounted for a larger percentage.

It shifts responsibility for its own powerlessness in a way, but it's also true that you don't realize that when you're in an unusual situation. So although I have no sympathy for Seyya with the Dedemonized Kings, I was not willing to blame them.

"But lately, some of the senior adventurers have come forward to sue the demon king."

"Why is that?

Even Seyya, who understood so much, could not understand why the senior adventurers would set up a demon king. In response to Seyya's question, Daldar explains, albeit with a little difficulty.

"It's the death of Demon King Broad-Mamon."

"Broad's?

"Yes. After Master Seyya got Broad, Dakulia II has essentially become a lawless zone. That's because, starting with the Demon King, the death of Broad's executives, or the impact of his disappearance, left the Demon King's Hall in Dacrea II dysfunctional."

"Ah..."

Seiya understood that it was her fault to go away.

"The adventurers, whose jobs have stopped coming around from the Demon King, are currently using their own connections to make a living. But that's not all. It also affects the death of the demon king Asmodeus."

"And Asmodeus?

It was the other day that Asmodeus, the king of dreams, was gone. The culprit was Mikokabrera, a former ecclesiastical clerk, and unlike in the time of Seyya, Mikokabrera should now be taking over Demon King status.

"That's apparently what the new Asmodeus is scorning for the existence of the Alliance. Especially if the people who were deeply connected to Dream King can't even get their jobs turned around? Rumor has it that the handover is not working, and this one is still dysfunctional."

"So to the Dedemonized Kings?

"Exactly."

I don't know if that's Mikokabrera's weak political power or if he's doing it intentionally again, but if that happens in two guilds at the same time, it won't be impossible for the Dedemonization Kings to become stronger.

And that was then. I hadn't uttered a word until earlier, but Rona, who was next to Seyya, asks Daldar most importantly.

"By the way, where is the body of my predecessor, Asmodeus?

"It's probably in a spare demon king's villa"

"I see."

"What's wrong, Rona?

Seiya asks, but Rona responds to teasing.

"No, I think it stinks a little bit."
