Falling Mage and the Power of Divergence

Episode 284: Forno-Mamon

A woman named Forno, the Dark Knight, who names the Mamon candidate who came in during the moonlight. The face of Forno cannot be confirmed because it has been hidden by black armor, but the fact that its identity is one of the thirteenth apostles of the Kingdom of Leiria, Silforo-Second, can be seen from the wrangling struggle.

Gillanell and three other moderates who get a stunned look at the presence of Silforno, who names her Forno, naturally would be surprised because they had an acquaintance with her. I don't see why the Rapid Detodelions are trying to put Silforno, Leirian magician, in Mamon's succession, but if Silforno inherited Mamon's name, there would be no more favourable situation for the moderates.

"Is that better with your successor, Mamon?

"That's right. The Rapids recommend the Dark Knight Forno"

"Nice to meet you, my name is Forno"

Silforo greets the moderate demon kings as if they were meeting for the first time, including Daldar, who asked the question, but I guess he's not willing to hide his identity around not hiding his struggle. There is no such thing as a struggle between 10 people and 10 colors being similar to others, so it's not like someone else.

Sarunalin asks Silforno, who wonders what the hell he intends to do to succeed Mamon.

"What the hell background are you in?

"She worked primarily as a subordinate of Dear Broad-Mamon, the former Mammon. So much so that Zadman, also known as Lord Broad-Mamon's right arm, used to work as a right-arm surrogate when he was on an infiltration mission to Leiria."

It was not Silforno himself who answered Sarunalin's question, but Mikola, who has been a thorough explainer since earlier. Apparently, Silforno had a radical or something when he worked as Broad's right arm.

"Besides, we guarantee her strength. She is not inferior to the status of the Demon King."

"You seem to appreciate it a lot."

I'll explain it to you.

It was Detodelion who took over the explanation.

"There was a skirmish when I used to compete with Broad. That's where I was protecting Broad, the Dark Knight Forno here. I thought I was going to take one shot at Broad, but Forno sealed my attack all the time. I hate to admit it, but this guy's got real strength.

Detodelion enthusiastically explains the strength of the Dark Knight Forno, but her strength is also well known to the moderates. Maybe it's no exaggeration to say that the moderate demon kings understand Silforno better. So I know perfectly well that her strength is worthy of the Demon King.

The only question is why Silforno is on their camp. She already has a solid position in the Kingdom of Leiria, and she serves that one, which the moderate demon kings support. It was not clear why she would seek her place in Dacrea.

That's where Gilanel asks.

"How could you be the Demon King?

"Right. In short, it was not a good idea to leave Mammon's seat open."

"What do you mean?

"The movements of the Dedemonized Kings are becoming more active in the current Second District. Besides, there's an unexpected person behind it, and leaving it like this will be a hindrance later."

Apparently, Silforo realizes that there is a special magician of Leiria behind the Dewitching Kings. Certainly the movement of the Dedemonized Kings is one element of anxiety when considering later situations. If that fits within Dacrya, there's no problem, but I don't think Leiria can handle it with the Demons when dealing with it when it comes to getting involved.

Naturally the Leirian side will also be adding some interference. If you think that Silforno has decided to become the Demon King in order to remove that element of anxiety, you can also understand the intent of that action.

But naturally, there are no magicians in history who combined the thirteen apostles with the Demon King, so there is no reason for the moderate Demon Kings to be confused. Seeing the moderate demon kings with a bewildered look, Detodelion offers off-target cover.

"I think I should do something about the current situation in the absence of the Demon King. In fact, in Dakulia II, where Mamon is absent, the moves of the people who list the Dedemonization King system are increasing. Besides, there have been reports that their movements have recently become more active even in the Seventh Ward, where their predecessor Asmodeus died. If there's no other candidate at this time, I think it's better to put the Dark Knight Forno on Mamon later."

A mouthful of detodelion worrying about Dacrea's future, but of course it is a lie. Anyway, the activation of the Dedemonization Kings in the Seventh Ward of Dakulia is triggered by his instructions. But while there's no point in disputing it in the absence of proof, the moderate demon kings who have no real harm where Silforno became Demon King Mamon do not make any particular objections.

Instead, in this case, he showed a favourable attitude towards the inauguration of the Demon King of Silforo. The concurrence of the Demon King and the Thirteen Apostles is an element of anxiety, but it is not bad for Silforo to gain Mamon status. Besides, if the Demon King obeys a competent subordinate, it is also possible for the Demon King's subordinates to carry out their work, as in the Fourth Ward.

"Surely you can't leave Mamon's seat empty."

"Right. Originally, the Demon King is not allowed to be vacant."

"In that sense, maybe we should leave it to her, even on an ad hoc basis."

It was Detodelion and Mikola who smiled in their hearts when they saw the reactions of the moderate demon kings. Preliminary assumptions expected opposition to fly at the stage of recommending the Dark Knight Forno to Mamon, so he couldn't hide his joy that things were working well.

If Detodelion had been in a position to the contrary, he would have raised an objection. It should rely on a favorable attitude when it comes to locating a magician in the Demon King, who doesn't know what makes him famous even within Dacrya. So at that point Detodelion should have distrusted the attitude of the moderate demon kings.

We should indulge in every point and explore its sincerity, from their expression, from their modus operandi, from their rhetoric, as to why they do not express any particular opposition. Probably what a regular detodelion could have done. But now Detodelion didn't notice because he was concentrating his consciousness on this next last suggestion he was waiting for, that is, the formula that drags Gilanel down from the throne of the Great Demon King.

It is the same for Mikola. Usually he would have questioned the unnaturally favorable attitude of the moderate demon kings. But he couldn't stay as calm as Detodelion did again. Anyway, he's a beginner at the Demon King's Conference for the first time, and there's no reason to get nervous because he's also dealing with the famous Demon Kings within Dacrya.

This is how they failed to notice the unnatural attitude of the moderate demon kings.

"Shall we take a vote?"

Detodelion and Mikola breathe into Gilanel's words.

"Those in favor of the inauguration of Mamon of the Dark Knight Forno raise their hands."

It was the five demon kings, excluding Forno, who raised their hands. In other words, Forno's inauguration of Mamon, like Mikola's, was unanimously passed.

Thus a new demon king is born in Dacrya on this day. Her name is Forno-Mamon. He was the new demon king who unified the Dacrea II district and at the same time the magician of the Episcopal Church, situated second in the thirteenth apostolic sequence in the Kingdom of Leiria.
