Falling Mage and the Power of Divergence
Episode 320: The Dark
"No, I put it on."
The man's voice echoing in the alley is cold everywhere and deep everywhere. What I hear that voice is such a merciless voice that I tremble unconsciously with fear.
There was the man in the alley of the Dacrean Empire who was not excited about the birth of the new Great Demon King Lucifer.
The man with white hair still looks like a late teenager, but the wrapping aura is so deep and thick that he doesn't think he's a very teenager. So much so that I wonder what the hell kind of life you could have wrapped up an aura like him in that year.
The clear intent to kill contained in that sharp gaze is unwittingly raised. That's not a matter of poor strength, it feels like a different attitude to the battle before it.
The man wraps up the fight as if he were born to kill each other.
It is the black alien sword that is gripped in the man's right hand. At first glance, the sword makes the impression that it is not suitable for slaughtering people, but the sword is indisputably a sword made only to slay people.
The sword is a substitute commonly referred to as the Devil's Sword, among which it generates resentment of the same quality as the Devil's Knife that curses and kills the user. So even though the user of the Devil's Sword should have an uninterrupted influx of resentment contained in the Devil's Sword, I don't see how it turned into that boy.
Because the boy was also top notch as a magician.
"Yu, forgive me! I'm innocent, Jack!
A man who is losing his hips in front of a boy calls him Jack. I don't even know if that name is the boy's real name or not, but I only know that the boy is called Jack.
And that he is an A-rank adventurer belonging to the Adventurers' Union and at the same time a dark person in the possession of the Adventurers' Union.
An A-rank adventurer's evidence is tagged with gold from Jack's neck. That tag is indisputably authentic and proves that he is an A-rank adventurer.
But the name A-rank adventurer Jack is unknown to the public. Only some adventurers know about A-rank Adventurer Jack in the first place, and no one even knows his name, including his clients and other Alliance users.
Because Jack has never received a public request. He was a so-called assassin who belonged to the Adventurers Union more than he was in his childhood.
What is an Adventurers Union in the first place. Normally, adventurers belong to an adventurer's guild, and there is no such thing as an adventurer's union. But now there is an organization called the Adventurers' Union.
In short, the difference between the two is whether or not to undergo the intervention of the Demon King system.
Adventurer Alliances may also receive requests from Demon Kings who govern the district to which they belong in addition to their regular clients. Due to its relationship, the Adventurer Alliance must at times be compelled to work against the Demon King. Because if you don't, the operation will be suspicious.
But naturally some of them learn to rebel against the Demon King's intervention. Low-ranked adventurers, especially those who do not get the good offices of a job from the Demon King, are the main layers, but unfortunately the Adventurers Union cannot do it on their merits.
It is the high-ranking adventurers with the same ideas as the low-ranking adventurers who are partitioning the Adventurers' Union. Adventurers are said to be anti-demonic kings, unlike groups that often list demonic kings.
The difference between these two factions is the antidemonic kings against the demonic kings who try to destroy the demonic kings system itself, while acknowledging the need for the current demonic kings system, an organization that has set out contradictions such as unacceptability.
So they created an organization called Adventurers Union, which focuses on anti-demon kings to protect adventurers from the arbitrary actions of demon kings. The basic philosophy of the Adventurers Union is called 'Adventurers Life Without the Interference of the Demon King', and if you wish, any adventurer can participate.
It is an independent institution in the Demon King system if you can easily compare the schematics of the Adventurers' Union, and is close to the Association of Extraordinary Mages in Leiria. They aim to protect the fundamental human rights of adventurers from the arbitrary actions of the Demon King, while at the same time preventing excessive interference.
But there are problems with such organizations as well. It is the work of those who favor the Demon King system because of its independent institutions. For example, the man who is currently letting his hips slip in front of Jack has also been sent by the Demon Kings.
Unlike the Association of Extraordinary Mages, spying is also easy because it is an organization where anyone can enter if they are not qualified adventurers needed to join. Adventurers' unions have their own dark organizations to broil out people who do such espionage.
Even though it is not a charity when it comes to the Adventurers' Union, spies must be wiped out to retain information. But some people learn to take refuge in raising their hands to the same adventurer, so their end is left to an organization called the Dark Side. And one of them is Jack.
Adventurer tags paid to the dark are the same as those paid to the Adventurer Alliance, but are not registered to the Adventurer Alliance. By its very nature, you can't register for the Adventurer Guild, but your authority in the Guild is not so much with the average adventurer. That's because guild officials are also aware of the presence of the dark, and they'll guess even when an unregistered adventurer comes.
So Jack is a dark area not registered to the guild, but he is also an undisputed A-rank adventurer. The man with half a beso in front of such a jack is a suspected Demon King spy.
"Tam. Miss me."
"What would you do if you missed it?
"Yes, I won't tell you. Because I don't report anything."
"That would be risky, wouldn't it?
"Ho, it's true. Believe me!
Jack smiles joyfully when he sees the rattling and trembling man. As far as the man's word goes, the man is cro, Jack's subject of execution. There is no way to miss it.
"Do you have any hard evidence to believe?
"Mi, I give you my right arm..."
I answer in a heavy tone. He doesn't expect anything to be intact and missed. After knowing that you have to pay a considerable price.
"I'm a bowman. If you lose one arm, you're done as an adventurer..."
"Adventurer, you want me to miss you because I'm throwing my life away?
"Please... so forgive me..."
Look at the man pleading with his body trembling. Jack smiles creepy and throws a small knife out of his nostrils in front of the man.
"Fine. There you go."
"Is this...?
"If you want to chop it off, do it yourself"
