Chapter 2359: The Atmosphere Is Set
Cao Yong understood what was going on and couldn’t help but chuckle softly, asking, "Do you need me to come over and help you?"
Absolutely not, that would be beyond embarrassing. Several guys wanted to find a hole to bury themselves in.
"Senior, you can just tell us how to do it. We can handle it ourselves," Xie Wanying said, noticing the embarrassed expressions on her classmates’ faces.
"Making a chocolate cake is different from making chocolate," Cao Yong replied, "I haven’t tried it myself. First, you need to decide if you want to make chocolate or a chocolate cake. I can check if I have any dessert books at home on this topic."
"We want to make a chocolate cake." The guys snapped back to reality, hurriedly shouting to focus on completing the most crucial task first.
"Alright, give me a moment," Cao Yong replied warmly, taking his phone and heading to his study to find a dessert book for his junior fellows.
The two visitors sitting in his living room, Ren Chongda and Zhu Huicang, were quietly laughing at his retreating figure.
"Do you think he knows what your class is having her make chocolate for?" Zhu Huicang asked, wiping Ren Chongda’s shoulder.
It’s obvious what that group of students would do. Ren Chongda shook his head, indicating this bunch of students was more trouble than help.
Now it was up to Cao Yong to keep pretending. After all, he was the one who would be receiving the cake, yet he had to explain to them how to make the cake for him.
Thinking of this, Zhu Huicang was shaking with laughter.
Ren Chongda decided he’d need to have a talk with these students, advising them not to be too stupid in their actions, otherwise, they’d be kicked out of the Matchmaker Team.
Next, a group of students took notes on how to make the chocolate cake, starting with the ingredients: eggs, cocoa powder, milk, low-gluten flour, sugar, vegetable oil, and some fruits and nuts for decoration.
They noticed the ingredients prepared by Mother Wei were not quite right, further proving she had never made desserts before. The guys and Student Wei discussed having the driver buy the ingredients and bring back lunch. Meanwhile, they used the existing ingredients to make something.
They finally got on the right track for making chocolate cake. After finishing lunch and working for the better part of the day, they managed to produce two fairly decent chocolate cakes.
One was decorated with nuts, which they planned to take back to the class to share with all the classmates and the adviser. The other was covered with blueberries, strawberries, and other colorful fruit pieces, giving it a very romantic and pastel look. The guys were satisfied, believing this cake had the Valentine’s Day vibe. They told Student Xie, "You should take this to Senior Cao. Senior Cao helped us out a lot today."
It had indeed been a big favor from Senior Cao to help them make a cake. Xie Wanying nodded, agreeing with her classmates’ suggestion.
"Shang Quan, you drive Yingying to Senior Cao’s home, and we’ll take the bus back to school," Zhang Desheng and the others told Student Wei. Since Fangzhuang and Guoxie were in different directions, splitting into two groups would be faster.
"Ok." Student Wei patted his chest, promising to fulfill the task entrusted by his classmates.
The classmates heading back to school walked out of the house carrying the cake.
Xie Wanying expertly boxed the cake she was sending to Senior Cao, using the golden sugar paper provided by Student Wei.
Ring, ring, ring, suddenly the phone at home rang, and Student Wei picked up the receiver. After listening to what his mother said on the other end, Student Wei replied, "Mom, don’t ask me; I’m just a student. If there’s something wrong with Xiao Xin, you should take him to the hospital for an examination."
"We took him to the hospital today, and the doctor said everything is normal."
"It’s best to follow the doctor’s advice."
"But we feel something’s not quite right," Mother Wei sighed.
