Chapter 2370: On TV
"How many times have I told you, whenever something happens, you must report to me immediately. So, what happened? Did you guys take a detour somewhere?"
The task of delivering the cake wasn’t carried out properly, where have they gone "strolling"?
The counselor seems like a mastermind who predicted their mishap. Student Wei held his forehead in remorse, saying, "Teacher Ren, there was no time to report the sudden situation to you."
"What sudden situation?" Ren Chongda’s heart lifted.
"Hey hey hey!" Zhu Huicang excitedly pointed at the TV screen and shouted at the others, "Quickly look, aren’t those the two who were supposed to deliver the cake?"
Upon hearing this, Cao Yong, who had no interest in watching TV, suddenly jumped up. Ren Chongda followed him, rushing to the TV screen. All three almost pressed their eyeballs against the TV to discern the figures appearing inside.
The only thing to say is that the photographer didn’t know what they were doing, constantly focusing the camera on Student Xie.
"You guys are on TV?!" Ren Chongda yelled at the students on the other end of the phone.
"On TV?" Student Wei was startled. They had encountered reporters at the scene before, but had no realization they would appear on TV.
"Is your home at Tianfu No. 1?"
"Yes, Teacher Ren."
"The television news is reporting something happening in your neighborhood." Ren Chongda unraveled the student’s background while reading the scrolling news headline at the bottom of the TV, "Electric shock?"
The words "electric shock" indeed frightened the teachers present. Electrical accidents are most feared for disasters within one’s lifetime. People often don’t know how to perform a rescue properly, resulting in risking their own lives.
"Someone did get shocked, teacher." Student Wei reported honestly.
"How are you and Yingying? Did you try to pull the person?" Ren Chongda was extremely anxious, jumping as he asked.
"No. We first used a bamboo pole to get the wire off." Student Wei said.
Seeing the students safe with his own eyes assures peace of mind. Ren Chongda asked, "Where are you now?"
"I took one of the injured to Guozhi Emergency Department. Yingying took the child to Shou’er."
"Go go go." Having received the message, Zhu Huicang directed, telling Ren Chongda, "You go to Guozhi, I’ll accompany Cao Yong to Shou’er to check the situation."
"Stay put and don’t cause trouble." Ren Chongda advised the students before hanging up, and in an instant, a call from the leadership came.
It is evident how terrifyingly powerful television broadcasting can be.
"Teacher Ren, how come I see your class’s Student Xie appearing in our local TV news report?" School’s academic affairs administration leader, Director Jiang, inquired the counselor about the situation, presumably also standing in front of the TV squinting at Student Xie’s face.
Back in the day, Director Jiang personally handled the enrollment procedures when Student Xie first entered the school. It’s said that ever since, Director Jiang had a deep impression of this student. Thus, wearing reading glasses, Director Jiang needs only a glance to recognize the person.
Ren Chongda didn’t dare suggest the leader’s eyesight was failing, and formally replied to the leader, "Yes, I am now going to the hospital to understand their situation."
"Did they come to Guoxie?" Director Jiang asked, intending to follow up to check.
"No—" Ren Chongda suddenly realized the issue, stopping himself mid-sentence.
The Guodu students didn’t bring the patients to Guoxie but elsewhere? Once again recalling Student Xie’s single-mindedness. They thought wherever suitable, that’s where the patients should be sent. Shou’er and Guozhi should be delighted.
Let Guozhi be, it’s another affiliated hospital of Guoxie, so it counts as our own. Shou’er is an affiliated hospital of the rival Guodu Medical University.
