Following the attending physician’s instructions, Xie Wanying remained in the operating room.
The previously inserted anal tube was connected to the air pump in the room, medically known as an air enema device. Before connecting the machine, it would be calibrated in advance according to standard practice. Such inflation equipment has long been developed to allow remote control operations from the operating room to protect medical staff from radiation.
With medical students present, the kind Doctor Yang took the opportunity to give a lesson. In the radiology department, there is more than one type of air enema device, including those that can add barium contrast for enhanced imaging in complex cases.
