Chapter 2592 - 1130: When the East Is Dark, the West Shines (Part 2)
Although her goal was to please others, she had her own bottom line.
The lying drunkard in front of her was clearly not within the scope of those she aimed to please.
There’s no shortage of rotten people anywhere, and Gaven merely watched coldly without interfering with the Card Queen’s decisions.
After driving away several waves of opportunists in succession, no one came over anymore.
The Card Queen apologized, saying: "It seems there will be no gains today, but don’t be discouraged sir, this is just a small part of the Boundary Travelers, most are climbing and exploring or traveling to other planes, and they haven’t received the news yet.
You might as well stay here for the night, perhaps good news will come tomorrow."
Gaven said, opting for another choice: "If there isn’t a direct portal to Planet Toril, then a portal to the Bright Water Realm or the Outer Realm would be fine."
He was eager to return to the Felen Continent not for himself, but for Wealth Goddess Woken.
Escaping the Bottomless Abyss was not the end of this mission; only by safely sending her back to her God Kingdom, allowing her to reclaim her Divine Position and restore her Deity True Body, would it be truly successful.
"Alright, I’ll keep an eye out for you," The Card Queen agreed cheerfully, "It’s still early, want to play another round?"
With nimble fingers, the Card Queen skillfully shuffled the cards in her hand.
"Sure." Gaven replied readily, "But win or lose, this is the last round."
The cards the Card Queen played were called Magic Card, a very popular card game within the Multiverse, suitable for all ages.
This card game is divided into two types: ordinary cards and Magic cards.
Ordinary cards are prepared for ordinary people; whether wooden pieces or paper, they can be made.
What the Card Queen played were naturally Magic cards, these cards possess Magic Force, during the gameplay, these cards would transform into various miniature monsters for Combat, besides the Body Type, their abilities are identical to the prototype.
This game is easy to learn but difficult to master.
It’s not hard to start, but the difficulty lies in how to fully utilize the resources and cards on hand.
Moreover, this card game carries a collectible nature, many unique cards require significant effort to gather.
Members of the World Traveler Guild, basically everyone has a set of Magic cards.
If it were merely a game, it would naturally not be worth investing great effort.
But if these Magic cards’ Combat units are no longer miniature, but in prototype status, rules of the game apply to reality’s Combat, then the nature is completely different.
"It’s enough." The Card Queen revealed a cunning smile, "I’ll play first, Hands of Slaughter!"
She drew a brand new card from her stack and placed it on the board, transforming into a fully armed image of Gaven, holding the War Ravager.
In the previous matches, she had already won enough card strength from Gaven to form her own new card.
This is one of their ways of collecting cards.
The stronger the prototype card, the stronger these cards naturally are.
"Interesting." Seeing a new card forged in his likeness, Gaven’s interest was instantly piqued, he began strategizing his Tactical Deployment based on his abilities, trying to use his cards to defeat himself.
This kind of card isn’t exactly a copy of the person involved, but it at least possesses most of their abilities.
Soon Gaven felt his own powerful combat force on the game board; most ordinary monsters couldn’t last even a round against him.
Some stronger ones, at most, only supported a few additional rounds.
The War Ravager can control, drain life, and has terrifying destructiveness, essentially an unbeatable existence.
After a round, Gaven played all his cards but couldn’t manage to take down his own card.
The strength of the card formed from Gaven was so formidable, it also exceeded the Card Queen’s expectations; she couldn’t help but reassess this traveler she had encountered by chance, realizing his background might be more astonishing than she had imagined.
The Card Queen noticed Gaven’s lingering interest and suggested: "Want to try another game?"
"No need." Gaven shook his head, "I said the last round is the last round; I’m going to rest now, see you tomorrow."
If it were before venturing into the deep Bottomless Abyssal, he would have surely delved into this unique card game, possibly even forging his own exclusive card set.
But now there is clearly no necessity for that.
The strength these cards could collect was very limited; if the card projections summoned could muster one-tenth of the prototype’s combat power, it would be remarkable.
Yet his War Ravager could directly enslave the soul of the person involved, the strengths and weaknesses are unmistakable.
The Card Queen gave Gaven a thumbs-up, sincerely praising, "You, sir, are indeed extraordinary; this self-control is very rare."
She had seen plenty who claimed the last round, yet their seats remained idle before the card table, including those high True Gods, whose competitive spirit wasn’t any less than ordinary people.
Individuals like Gaven, who act in accordance with their words, are indeed rare.
"We’ll see each other tomorrow." Gaven waved his hand and entered the inn room already booked.
The inn room was simple and tidy, not much different from the Material Plane.
Gaven wasn’t picky about it, lay on the bed, and began organizing his thoughts and plans.
The process of rescuing Wealth Goddess Woken had twists and turns, but the ultimate result was fulfilling, his plan in the Bottomless Abyssal was also essentially accomplished.
