Fate-Defying Demon Emperor

The Sword Maniac’s pupils constricted, his spirit shaken to its core.

He had entertained the possibility of the Sword Lunatic’s defeat, but he never imagined it would come so swiftly. He had just dispatched the Cloud Mist Puppet, only to see the Sword Lunatic already defeated and fleeing the Golden Stone Platform.

How... how is this possible?

Racking his brain, the Sword Maniac couldn’t fathom how the Sword Lunatic had fallen so fast. The Sword Lunatic’s strength was only slightly inferior to the Demon Swordsman’s, the difference minimal. Furthermore, Su Han had just fought two major battles, consuming a great deal of energy and leaving him in poor condition. Under these circumstances, even if the Sword Lunatic couldn’t gain the upper hand, he shouldn’t have been defeated!

On the Golden Stone Platform, Su Han and the Sword Maniac now faced each other from a distance. All other competitors were either dead or injured, leaving only the two of them. The ultimate first place would be decided between them.

In that instant, the entire venue fell silent. Everyone held their breath, staring intently at Su Han and the Sword Maniac, wondering what the final outcome of the swordsmanship conference would be.

"I refuse to believe that after so many battles, you still have the strength to defeat me. First place will surely be mine!" the Sword Maniac shouted. He shook his head, forcing the fear from his heart. He fully unleashed his Maniacal Sword Intent, rebuilding his confidence to avoid being daunted before the fight even began.

Su Han remained silent. Gripping the Soul Severing Sword tightly, he took the initiative and charged toward the Sword Maniac.

His exhaustion was indeed tremendous, but his Demonic Qi was more condensed than ordinary Spiritual Energy. A single stream of his Demonic Qi was as powerful as three streams of Spiritual Energy. He had also previously consumed Life Spring Water, restoring his Demonic Qi to Perfection. As such, his exhaustion wasn’t nearly as great as outsiders imagined. Moreover, his Great Accomplished Holy Body was incredibly powerful. After all this fighting, his body bore no significant injuries. Su Han was therefore filled with confidence as he faced the Sword Maniac.

"One Sword Breaks Myriad Spells!"

Su Han didn’t resort to ordinary swordsmanship, using a Divine Method from the outset. He, too, wanted to end the duel with the Sword Maniac quickly.

A six-meter-long Slaughter Sword Qi howled forth like the Grim Reaper’s scythe. Carrying a lethal edge, it cleaved through the void and slashed fiercely toward the Sword Maniac, who felt an intense sense of crisis.

"Heaven Rank Intermediate Martial Technique: Gale Extermination Slash!"

The Sword Maniac clenched his teeth, the madness in his eyes intensifying to the extreme. His aura surged violently as he executed the Heaven Rank Intermediate Martial Technique. It was well known that Heaven Rank Martial Techniques were extremely difficult to cultivate. Without reaching the Saint Realm, one could not unleash their true power. Although people like the Demon Swordsman had mastered Heaven Rank Martial Techniques, they were only Low Level ones, and even then, they could only unleash a fraction of their power. Yet the Sword Maniac was now astonishingly performing an Intermediate one, an unbelievable feat!

His face turned deathly pale, blood flowing from all seven orifices. His visage was hideous and fearsome, a clear indication that forcefully executing such a technique took a tremendous toll on him. But with only Su Han left as his opponent, a victory would secure the top spot. For that reason, the Sword Maniac held nothing back. He aimed to defeat Su Han in one strike, become the champion, and earn the chance to cultivate in the Myriad Virtual Realm.

BOOM!

Within his Domain, a powerful gale raged, and his Holy Sword burst forth with dazzling Sword Radiance. The Sword Radiance merged with his Domain, and coupled with his Maniacal Sword Intent, a wild and earth-shaking force erupted from him, so oppressive that everyone felt a suffocating pressure.

A kilometer-sized tornado formed on the Golden Stone Platform. It was not made of simple wind but of countless strands of Sword Radiance, its power a full level higher than the previous Sword Storm. However, the tornado appeared blurry and extremely unstable, as if it might implode at any moment. Clearly, while the Sword Maniac had barely managed to execute the technique, he couldn’t maintain its stability and even risked a backlash.

"First place is mine!" the Sword Maniac let out a long howl, his arrogant nature unchanged. Clutching his Holy Sword, he roared and unleashed his strongest strike.

RUMBLE!

The tornado roared into motion, furiously slashing toward Su Han. It shattered the space along its path, and countless spatial cracks spread out like a spiderweb. The Golden Stone Platform’s area was limited. If Su Han wanted to contend for first place, he couldn’t leave, leaving him no choice but to withstand the attack.

The Slaughter Sword Qi collided with the tornado and cut into it, but the single strand of Sword Qi was too small. Despite consuming a great deal of the tornado’s Sword Radiance, a large portion of it still remained.

"Deadly Sword Technique: Severing River of Stars!"

Without hesitation, Su Han rapidly executed the Deadly Sword Technique. Instantly, the great star shadow, the Sword Light Bright Moon, and the black Sword Sun converged into one strike, unleashing a brilliant Sword Radiance that collided with the tornado.

RUMBLE!

The clash of Sword Radiance clanged loudly, shattering the space above the entire Golden Stone Platform and revealing a vast expanse of pitch-black void. Within this void, Spatial Turbulence erupted, making the platform even more perilous.

"What’s happening? Who will be the last one standing?"

Everyone craned their necks, staring intently at the Golden Stone Platform, their hearts tense as they awaited the final outcome.

Atop the platform, both Su Han and the Sword Maniac were enduring the terrifying battle fluctuations and the pressure of the void. The Sword Maniac’s tornado was immensely powerful, but Su Han’s Deadly Sword Technique was equally terrifying. Their techniques collided evenly, but the Sword Maniac was suffering a significant backlash, having used a Heaven Rank Intermediate Martial Technique that was beyond his level.

The states of the two men were now completely different. The Sword Maniac was tottering, almost unable to hold on. Su Han, however, possessed the Great Accomplished Holy Body. With his peerless physical form, he was completely unfazed by the attacks of the Sword Radiance or the pressure of the void.

SWISH!

Su Han moved, projecting his Starry Sky Sword Domain as he employed the Character Technique of Motion to approach the Sword Maniac. The Soul Severing Sword in his hand glimmered brightly, exuding a bone-chilling Yin Energy. The violent Slaughter Sword Intent enhancing it caused the Sword Maniac’s pupils to constrict.

How can you possibly be so strong?

The Sword Maniac’s mentality collapsed. He stared in disbelief as Su Han rapidly closed in. Knowing his own condition was poor, he was sure he was no match for his opponent. The deaths of the Second Prince and the Demon Swordsman were lessons fresh in his mind, and he had no desire to die here.

With this thought, the Sword Maniac followed the Sword Lunatic’s example and voluntarily jumped off the Golden Stone Platform, plunging downwards and leaving the Pyramid’s battlefield. His only goal had been to take first place. If he couldn’t win, he would rather give up.

"The Sword Maniac has fled!" the crowd exclaimed, their faces filled with shock.

With the Second Prince and the Demon Swordsman dead, Liu Xu the first to be eliminated, and now the Sword Lunatic and the Sword Maniac also defeated and in flight, only a single figure remained on the Golden Stone Platform.

Staring at Su Han, who stood with his sword held high like an unbeatable War God, everyone went wild.
